関ヶ原の戦いに関する諸史料を検討する場合、関ヶ原の戦いに関係した部将が発給した書状などの一次史料(同時代史料)の内容検討が重要であるが、それと同時に、当時、在京していた公家・僧侶などの日記における関ヶ原の戦い関係の記載について検討することも重要である。よって、本稿ではこうした視点から慶長5年3月から同年12月までの公家・僧侶などの日記における関ヶ原の戦い関係等の記載を筆者(白峰)が現代語訳して時系列データベースとしてまとめ、それを見ていくうえでポイントとなる箇所について、若干の説明を小論として加えた。

This paper describes the environment surrounding opinion polls in the followingthree sections, each of which also presents the author’s opinions. Theyare mainly based on the author’s presentation on June 23, 2018 at the symposiumtitled What is Public Opinion Survey: Discussion on the Reliability of PublicOpinion at a Crossroads as a part of the symposium organized by the JapanSociety for Studies in Journalism and Mass Communication. Section 1 Polling methods employed by the media This Section outlines polling methods that are yet to be fully understood bymedia representatives and academics. Section 2 Discussion of web-based polling going forward This Section comments on the calls for more effective use of the internetin our ubiquitous society.Section 3 Public sentiment on the reliability of polls Through social networking services or other means, many voice doubtsabout opinion polls conducted by the media. This Section presents the author’sidea on the way the issue should be addressed.

A 29-year-old man with fever and right upper quadrant pain was referred to our hospital. Ultrasonography revealed intense gallbladder edema and pericardial effusion. Despite no symptoms and signs related to heart failure, the patient was clinically suspected of cardiac dysfunction related to acute peri-myocarditis based on his symptoms of preceding fever and headache, pericardial effusion, positive troponin T value, elevated B-type natriuretic peptide level, and sequential changes on electrocardiography. With a profound eosinophilic surge (8,022/µL) during convalescence, acute peri-myocarditis and gallbladder edema resolved spontaneously. This case instructively shows that acute peri-myocarditis initially manifests with abdominal symptoms, mimicking acute acalculous cholecystitis. In addition, an extensive review of acute myocarditis cases with peripheral eosinophilia suggests that there is a subgroup characterized by a predilection for young and middle-aged men, concurrence of pericardial effusion, transient eosinophilic surge during convalescence, and favorable outcome.

The rhizostome jellyfishes, Rhopilema hispidum and Lobonemoides robustus, are two of the most abundant and commercially important species in Southeast Asia. However, information on genetic diversity and continuities among local populations remains totally unknown. We explored the genetic structure and population continuities of R. hispidum and L. robustus using genetic markers (COI & ITS1 regions) at 11 locations in four countries in Southeast Asia where fisheries were conducted. Rhopilema populations showed genetic distances (ΦST) among locations correlated positively with geographic distances, suggesting that they are in the isolation-by-distance (IBD). In Lobonemoides, molecular analysis revealed three distinct clades corresponding to sampling locations. Genetic distances among locations in L. robustus suggested that all populations maintain significant isolation. Our study reveals that these two blooming species have different phylogeographic patterns and differ in genetic diversity and continuities. Eustatic sea level changes during the Pleistocene and present ocean current systems, as well as differences in biological characteristics of these two species may explain these phylogeographic differences. Our results also suggest that jellyfish fisheries need to be carefully managed to avoid extinction of local populations and maintain the genetic diversity of these species, especially for L. robustus, which exhibits considerable genetic diversity in each location.

The curriculum for training care worker has been reconstituted in 2009. The new education program "The Human Dignity and Independence" has been established. It was the considerable case for this writer who is investigating "Human Dignity" in constitutional law. Therefore in this paper I have examined for "Human Dignity" in social welfare from constitutional law point of view. As a consequence, I have concluded that "Human Dignity" is different from "Dignity of the Individual". "Dignity of the Individual" is frequently misleadingly referred as isolated each individual is dignified venerable. Hence though many of laws which related with social welfare define "Dignity of the Individual", however I would like to propose that "Dignity of the Individual" should be amend as "Human Dignity".

Ensemble future climate projections were performed using the Meteorological Research Institute Earth System Model version 2.0 (MRI-ESM2.0) for sand and dust storms (SDS), which have a significant social, economic, and climatic impact on East Asia. A past replication experiment using MRI-ESM2.0 reproduced the decreasing trend of SDS in the Gobi Desert in the early 21st century. Prediction experiments by MRI_ESM2.0 in CMIP6 future scenarios indicated no significant differences in the total amount of SDS emissions in the Gobi Desert for 2015-2100; however, SDS emissions increased with warmer scenarios in spring and autumn. In particular, March in the highest warming scenario (SSP5-8.5) exhibited an annual increase rate in SDS emissions of 3.0% for 2015-2100. Friction velocity was the factor most highly correlated with SDS emissions, with a correlation generally higher than 0.6 for all climate scenarios throughout the year. In spring and autumn, snow cover exhibited a low negative correlation with SDS emissions, while ground temperature exhibited a positive correlation. The increase in SDS emissions and subsequent dust transport by midlatitude westerlies in spring and autumn in the accelerated warming scenarios is likely due to the changes in friction velocity and erodibility due to the decrease in snow accumulation.

Despite the importance of seasonal snow in Japan, quantitative information on seasonal snow mass in the whole area is lacking. To understand the current mass balance of seasonal snow cover, we develop a method to quantify the mass balance of seasonal snow all over Japan using the Japan Meteorological Agency's operational regional atmospheric model, Local Forecast Model (LFM), as well as the snow physics model, Snow Metamorphism and Albedo Process (SMAP). Our model simulations using the LFM-SMAP model chain show that the seasonal snow water equivalent (SWE) evolution is mostly controlled by snowfall and runoff. It is estimated that the seasonal peak area-integrated SWE in Japan reaches 42.2 Gt on average during the 2017-2022 winters, and 60.1 Gt (+43% with respect to the average) and 22.0 Gt (−48%) during relatively heavy (2017-2018) and relatively light (2019-2020) snow years, respectively. The ratios between seasonal peak area-integrated SWE and winter-accumulated (November to February) snowfall amounts for the heavy, average, and light snow years are 83%, 74%, and 59%, respectively.

We developed a method for estimating the height and growth rate of volcanic eruption columns, at high-temporal resolution, by processing vertical cross-sectional images of areas around the crater obtained with a marine radar tilted on its side. We applied our method to 127 eruptions occurring at Sakurajima (Kagoshima, Japan) from June to December 2019 and successfully estimated the time-series height of the eruption column and its growth rate every 2.5 seconds. In 48 cases, we obtained the maximum height of the eruption column and confirmed that these results were consistent with those estimated using meteorological radar. Although the maximum height estimated with our method tended to be lower than that observed by monitoring cameras, results could be obtained even when observations were difficult due to cloud effects, etc.

Recently, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of many medical devices has been allowed. However, risks of MRI of clothes, materials pasted on the body, body art, etc., are unclear. Moreover, the correspondence of the MRI operator with the patient varies. MRI is performed after removing such items that are removable. However, judgments regarding the items that are difficult to remove or cannot be removed are difficult to make. Operators need to correctly understand the risk level of each item to improve patient service and find out the appropriate method for performing MRI. As for dental implants, we need to understand their types, structure, and characteristics. For patients with tattoos, we must explain the risk of heating. Furthermore, we place a spacer between both legs, between a hand and gantry, when performing MRI to reduce the intensity of the induced current. As for nail art, thick gloves are effective for preventing suction and heating. As for thermal clothing, we should compare the risk level and frequency of occurrences of burns due to heating with fractures due to falling. When we perform MRI without removing thermal clothing, we should recognize the possibility of overheating and try to keep the patient from sweating. When we scanned cosmetics containing iron oxide with the upper limit level of the first standard management operation mode, the skin temperature rose by approximately 3℃ in approximately 10 min. When we perform MRI without removing makeup, we should tell the patient to use the emergency call instantly if a heat sensation is felt. When a heating test was performed under the same conditions as those created by cosmetics, the volunteers felt warm immediately after the start of the scan, and the scan had to be stopped within approximately 2 min because of heat. The temperature of hair rose to approximately 42℃. We should remove as much hair powder as possible because the head heats up and distorts the image. We performed MRI with a surgical hair cap on a patient. Risks posed by hair powder are higher than those posed by cosmetics. Furthermore, if hair powder splatters, the MRI scan becomes unusable. However, these items are not contraindications to MRI, and we may be able to perform MRI with adequate knowledge and attention. However, MRI cannot always be performed safely, and the highest risks during MRI are caused by incomplete knowledge and inappropriate techniques.

Several models of the birthplace of life have long been proposed and discussed. However, those discussions are chaotic. To test the birthplace models, we introduce nine requirements that must be met for the emergence of life. These requirements are: (1) energy source (ionizing radiation and thermal energy), (2) supplies of nutrients such as phosphorus and potassium, (3) supplies of main life constituent elements (C, H, O, and N), (4) condensed reducing gas, (5) dry wet cycle, (6) Na poor water, (7) clean lacustrine environment, (8) diversified surface environment, and (9) cyclic nature. Based on these nine requirements, most proposed birthplaces, such as the mid-oceanic ridge hydrothermal system, do not meet the requirements for life to emerge. The only possible site is a nuclear geyser system. Under the Hadean surface environment, sites satisfying the nine requirements are extremely limited because it is significantly difficult to meet the nine requirements, including extrinsic conditions. This difficulty to fulfill all the requirements indicates that only one site is the birthplace of life on Hadean Earth.

In UX designing, we sometimes propose a new concept product or service, focusing on user experience value. In this case, it is desirable to conduct concept evaluation at an early stage to confirm the direction of development. However, the method to reasonably conduct a concept test at a stage when the product or service is not concrete enough remains unclear. In this study, we analyzed the effect of results from the differences in the expressions of the following 3 concept sentences: (A) expression showing only the experience value; (B) expression with usage scene in addition to the experience value; and (C) expression with function in addition to the experience value. As a result, we found that A could reasonably evaluate “the degree of matching the needs” and “novelty”, and that C could reasonably evaluate “sympathy”. In this study, therefore, we suggest a two-stage concept test method in which we first present only the experience value to evaluate the degree of matching the needs and then present the usage scene to evaluate sympathy.

民主党政権の外交・安全保障政策は、一般に評判が悪い。しかし、国際平和協力について民主党政権は、ハイチと南スーダンという二つの国連PKOへの自衛隊部隊派遣、東南アジア地域での防衛省・自衛隊による能力構築支援の開始、さらにジブチでの海賊対処を目的に自衛隊初の海外拠点の整備など、従来の枠を超える積極的な試みを行っている。 それにも係わらず、2011年の自民党への政権交代後、第二次安倍政権が進めた 「積極的平和主義」 に基づく国際平和協力強化の試み、就中、平和安全法制に対して、野党民主党は強固な反対姿勢を示した。これにより、批判者としての印象が先行し、民主党政権期の国際平和協力は正面から検討されることのないままとなっている。 本稿は、民主党政権の実施した国際平和協力について、後の自民党政権との相違と共通性に着目して検討を行うことで、国際平和協力における民主党政権の再評価を行った。分析を通じて、民主党政権の役割が、積極的平和主義に基づく国際平和協力の試みの基盤整備にあったことを示すとともに、自民・民主両党の国際平和協力政策の根本的相違は、国際平和協力の考え方にではなく、対米関係の考え方にあることを明らかにした。

Carl Gustaf Mannerheim (1867-1951) travelled across Asia from Bukhara to Beijing from 1907 to 1908 to collect military intelligence for Russia. The diary he kept during this journey provides much information about Tibetan Buddhists under the influence of the Qing dynasty, namely Kalmuk, Torgut, Sirayogur, and Tangut, and contains a report of interviews with Torgut Khan's mother and with the exiled thirteenth Dalai Lama at Wu-taishan. Based on this information, this article clarifies that many Russian Tibetan Buddhists freely travelled to Tibet and Amdo and built relationships with Tibetan Buddhists in these regions. It also provides an outline of the photographs taken by Mannerheim during his journey and the antiquities of Tibetan Buddhism currently in the possession of the Finnish National Board of Antiquities.
