Cloud computing has revolutionized information technology, in that It allows enterprises and users to lower computing expenses by outsourcing their needs to a cloud service provider. However, despite all the benefits it brings, cloud computing raises several security concerns that have not yet been fully addressed to a satisfactory note. Indeed, by outsourcing its operations, a client surrenders control to the service provider and needs assurance that data is dealt with in an appropriate manner. Furthermore, the most inherent security issue of cloud computing is multi-tenancy. Cloud computing is a shared platform where users' data are hosted in the same physical infrastructure. A malicious user can exploit this fact to steal the data of the users whom he or she is sharing the platform with. To address the aforementioned security issues, we propose a security risk quantification method that will allow users and cloud computing administrators to measure the security level of a given cloud ecosystem. Our risk quantification method is an adaptation of the fault tree analysis, which is a modeling tool that has proven to be highly effective in mission-critical systems. We replaced the faults by the probable vulnerabilities in a cloud system, and with the help of the common vulnerability scoring system, we were able to generate the risk formula. In addition to addressing the previously mentioned issues, we were also able to quantify the security risks of a popular cloud management stack, and propose an architecture where users can evaluate and rank different cloud service providers.------------------------------This is a preprint of an article intended for publication Journal ofInformation Processing(JIP). 本研究では,家庭内の様子をオルゴールのメタファを用いて音で提示するインタフェース「イルゴール」を提案する.イルゴールの背面に設置したぜんまいを巻いてふたを開くと,オルゴールのBGMに乗せて,過去の家庭の音が聞こえてくる.このように,オルゴールで過去の思い出を振り返るような感覚で家庭の様子を知ることができる.本論文では,実験住宅に複数のセンサを設置してユーザの行動を取得し,イルゴールを用いて生活状況が確認できるかを検証した.We propose a music-box-type interface, "HomeOrgel", that can express various activities in the home with sound. Users can also control the volume and contents using the usual methods for controlling a music box: opening the cover and winding a spring. Users can hear the sounds of past home activities, such as conversations and opening/closing doors, with the background music (BGM) mechanism of the music box. This paper describes the concepts, implementation and evaluation of the HomeOrgel system.

Das Gemalde <<Reproduktion untersagt>> (1937) von Rene Magritte stellt den unwirklichen Anblick dar : Im Spiegel besieht sich ein Mensch von hinten. Wir konnen die da gemalte Fiktion als ein Organ zum Philosophieren gebrauchen, und verschiedene philosophisch wichtige Sachen bemerken. Im folgenden werden drei Sachen bezuglich des Anblicks von hinter uberlegt. Bei den Menschen hat der Anblick von hinter die eigenen Bedeutungen, indem die Menschen senkrecht gehen, und einen vorn und hinten dunnen Korper haben, und indem sich die wichtigen Organe vorn befinden. (1) Uns ist es unmoglich, niemandem und gar keinem den Rucken zu kehren. Wenn wir etwas uberhaupt angenommen haben, dann ist es notwendig der Fall, dass wir etwas Anderes abgelehnt haben. (2) Die Vergangenheiten tragen wir auf dem Rucken. Diese Tatsache und die Gestalt der getragenen Vergangenheiten berucksichtigen wir aufs neue erst dadurch, irgendein gegenstandlich daseiendes Objekt, das uns zu jener Berucksichtigung fuhrt, getroffen zu haben. (3) Die <<Reproduktion untersagt>> stellt bildlich ein Theater dar, auf der Buhne dessen man nichts auffuhrt. Dank einem besonderen Zustand des Publikums kann solch ein Theater des Nichts doch als ein Theater funktionieren. Dieser seltsame Sachverhalt ist aber nicht imaginar, sondern in Wirklichkeit da.

Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever is a life threatening illness. We aimed to detect the effect of the leukocyte counts on survival. This is the first study analyzing the relationship between mortality and leukocyte counts. A total of 220 patients were evaluated retrospectively. The mortality rate was found 16.4%. The analysis of relationship between leukocyte counts and mortality rates showed us some important clues for pathogenesis. ROC curve analysis revealed that if the leukocyte counts on admission were ≥ 2950/mm3, mortality rate could be predicted with 62.1% sensitivity. In consideration of the mean hospitalization length in fatal cases (4.3 days), third-admission day leukocyte counts were compared. Increase of the neutrophils and decrease of the lymphocytes and monocytes were found as significant risk factors for mortality (p = 0.01, p = 0.037, p = 0.001). The mortality risk was found 8-12 folds higher in patients with upper levels of cut- off for leukocytes (2950 µl), LDH (967 U/L) and aPTT (42.4 s), ALT (>119.5 u /l) which were determined as an independent predictors of mortality. The depletion of monocytes, lymphocytes and the increase of neutrophil counts were correlated with poor outcome. These results suggest the importance of mononuclear immune response for survival in CCHF.

躁うつ病は、一般住民の5〜15%が障害に罹患するといわれる高頻度な疾患である。また、働き盛りを襲う疾患であることから、本人や家族の苦悩は大きなものがある。死亡率が高く、ガン患者など身体疾患患者におけるうつ病の合併も多く、したがって、躁うつ病の原因解明と予防法の確立は急務であるといえる。本研究では躁うつ病の原因の解明をめざして、二つの研究目標を設定した。第一には躁うつ病の発生と強くかかわっていることが考えられる、視床下部機能の障害を明らかにすることである。また、躁鬱病の病態を明らかにするために、遺伝子組換え技術を用いてモデル動物を作成し、この検討を試みた。1)躁鬱病と関係すると考えられる視床下部-下垂体-副腎皮質系の中でも、視床下部のバソプレッシンの制御にかかわる、脳内サイトカインの影響に関して検討をおこない、報告し、また本報告書でまとめた。2)躁うつ病の病態と深くかかわっていると考えられる、視床下部-下垂体-副腎皮質系の異常に関する所見と、上記1の結果をまとめて報告した。3)ムスカリンM5受容体のアンチセンス核酸を投与した動物に関する検討結果を報告し(文献一覧9)、また、遺伝子組換え動物を用いた研究の問題点や、アンチセンス核酸による検討過程と、その問題点を報告し、まとめた。

The pharmacology of 5-HT and the classification of 5-HT receptors have become increasingly complex. However, recent advances have produced a new nomenclature system for 5-HT receptors. 5-HT3 receptors are neuronal receptors coupled directly to cation channels. Recently, many selective 5-HT3-receptor antagonists including tropisetron, zacopride, ondansetron, granisetron, zatosetron, nazasetron, YM060 and YM114 (KAE-393) have been developed. Many actions attributable to the 5-HT3-receptor have been described in both the peripheral and central nervous systems, and clinical trials are already showing the potential use of these 5-HT3 receptor antagonists in a number of disorders of the gastrointestinal tract and central nervous system, such as nausea and vomiting induced by cancer chemotherapy, anxiety, depression, schizophrenia and migraine. In addition, endogenous 5-HT is suggested to be one of the substances that mediate stress-induced responses in gastrointestinal function, i.e., increase in fecal pellet output and diarrhea. Moreover, YM060, YM114 (KAE-393) and granisetron have been reported to inhibit restraint stress and 5-HT-induced increases in fecal pellet output and diarrhea in rats and mice, indicating that endogenous 5-HT may mediate stress-induced changes in bowel function through the 5-HT3 receptor. Therefore, 5-HT3-receptor antagonists are new therapeutic drugs for stress-induced gastrointestinal dysfunctions like irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).
