Microtubules (MTs) play specialized roles in a wide variety of cellular events, e.g. molecular transport, cell motility, and cell division. Specialized MT architectures, such as bundles, axonemes, and centrioles, underlie the function. The specialized function and highly organized structure depend on interactions with MT-binding proteins. MT-associated proteins (e.g. MAP1, MAP2, and tau), molecular motors (kinesin and dynein), plus-end tracking proteins (e.g. CLIP-170), and MT-severing proteins (e.g. katanin) interact with MTs. How can the MT-binding proteins know temporospatial information to associate with MTs and to properly play their roles? Post-translational modifications (PTMs) including detyrosination, polyglutamylation, and polyglycylation can provide molecular landmarks for the proteins. Recent efforts to identify modification-regulating enzymes (TTL, carboxypeptidase, polyglutamylase, polyglycylase) and to generate genetically manipulated animals enable us to understand the roles of the modifications. In this review, we present recent advances in understanding regulation of MT function, structure, and stability by PTMs.

The asymptotic behavior of the spectral function of a one-dimensional second-order differential operator is discussed. We give a necessary and sufficient condition in order that the spectral function varies regularly with index 1. The condition is closely related to the class Γ which appears in the de Haan theory.

SMU文字は表音文字"Phonogram"で構成されている文字である。中央アジアに住んでいるソグド人、マニ人、ウイグル人が使っていた文字はソグド、マニ、ウイグル"Sogd, Manichaean, Uyghur,(SMU)"文字と呼ばれ、現在のそれらとは若干異なっている。SMU文字は古代と中期に使われていた文字で、現在使われていないという状況にある。SMU文字で書かれた文献作品は、現在各国の博物館と大学に所蔵されている。古代と中期のチュルク語とアルタイ諸語(SMU語)とそれらの文字の研究者の研究を助けるために、古代と中期SMU文献作品と様々な写本資料をデジタルテキストとしてデジタルアーカイビング"Digital archiving'が必要である。SMU単語は母音、子音、分音符号の組み合わせで形成したグリフと複雑なリガチャーから構成されている。本研究では、紀元前2世紀から紀元後11世紀までに右から左への横書きで書かれている古代と中期のSMU写本資料(図4参照)を使用して分音符号、グリフと複雑なリガチャーの位置の設計を行った。SMU文字コードの実装と開発の際の難しさは分音符号、グリフと複雑なリガチャーの形成である。本稿では、SMU語のデジタルテキスト処理の基礎である分音符号、グリフ、複雑なリガチャー形成の設計を提示する。

Body movement synchrony (i. e. rhythmic synchronization between the body movements of interacting partners) has been described by subjective impressions of skilled counselors and has been considered to reflect the depth of the client-counselor relationship. This study analyzed temporal changes in body movement synchrony through a video analysis of client-counselor dialogues in counseling sessions. Four 50-minute psychotherapeutic counseling sessions were analyzed, including two negatively evaluated sessions (low evaluation groups) and two positively evaluated sessions (high evaluation groups). In addition, two 50-minute ordinary advice sessions between two high school teachers and the clients in the high rating group were analyzed. All sessions represent role-playing. The intensity of the participants' body movement was measured using a video-based system. Temporal change of body movement synchrony was analyzed using moving correlations of the intensity between the two time series. The results revealed (1) A consistent temporal pattern among the four counseling cases, though the moving correlation coefficients were higher for the high evaluation group than the low evaluation group and (2) Different temporal patterns for the counseling and advice sessions even when the clients were the same. These results were discussed from the perspective of the quality of client-counselor relationship.
1 0 0 0 HMMを用いた形態素解析
形態素解析は、従来から対話、翻訳、校正などの目的のために、自然言語処理研究の一つの分野として研究が続けられている。これらの方式の多くは、予め単語を構文的意味的なカテゴリに分類してカテゴリー間の接続ルールや係受けルールを記述しておく必要がある。しかし、実際の日本語では単語の境界が明確でないことや単語の多品詞性や曖昧な係受けなどの問題があるため、精密なルールの作成は容易でない。そこで、本論文では隠れマルコフモデル(HMM)を用いた日本語の形態素解析方法を提案する。HMMにはBaum-Welchの学習アルゴリズムが知られているためテキストデータからモデルのパラメータが学習できる。そのため、文法としてのルールも品詞ラベルが振られたテキストデータが与えられなくても形態素解析ができる可能性がある。最後にこのモデルに基づいて実験を行なった。ここで用いたモデルは、かなり単純なモデルであるが、実験の結果は、単純なモデルとしては良好な解析結果を得た。

高級言語マシンの研究の一環として開発したLISPマシンの性能についてはすでに報告している.本論文は LISPプログラムを直接マイクロコードにコンパイルするコンパイラの導入により得られる効率の向上について論じている.簡単なベンチマークプログラムを用いた評価によりインタプリタに比して 5?8倍の高速性が得られることが判明し直接マイクロコード生成形コンパイラがきわめて有効であることが判明した.
