国や自治体が整備する洪水ハザードマップは広く利用される一方で,水系ごとに洪水ハザードマップを個別作成することの大きな時間とコストが課題である.本研究では,グローバル河川氾濫モデルCaMa-Floodによる広域シミュレーション出力から日本の1000年確率規模の想定浸水域を作成し,公的なハザードマップと比較することで,モデル出力をハザードマップとして活用する可能性を議論する.再解析流出量を入力としてCaMa-Floodで計算した水位を極値解析して1000年確率規模の水位を得,高解像度の地形データでダウンスケールして想定浸水域図を作成した.得られた想定浸水域を公的ハザードマップと比較すると,バックウォーターによる浸水や分岐河道での浸水域が概ね表現されていた.一方で,上流からの越水や集水域境界を跨いだ流れで生じる浸水が一部表現されないという課題が確認され,CaMa-Floodで作成した想定浸水域内に含まれる人口は公的なハザードマップに比べ29%少なかった.グローバル河川氾濫モデル出力が洪水ハザードマップとして一定の精度を持つことを確認し,ローカルな洪水リスク評価への活用などの可能性を示した.

In this review, we present an initial plan for exposure assessment in the Japan Environment and Children’s Study (JECS) by focusing on a biomonitoring technique and discuss the challenges encountered when using the biomonitoring technique for exposure measurements. JECS registered 103,099 pregnant mothers and has been following children born to them. Various biological samples were collected from mothers during pregnancy (blood and urine), at birth (blood and hair) and at check-up one month after birth (breast milk). Samples were also collected from children at birth (cord blood) and at check-up one month after birth (hair and blood spot). Those samples will be used to assess maternal and foetal exposures to chemical substances. Measurement reliability, i.e., intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC), and attenuation bias related to low ICCs should be taken into consideration when using the biomonitoring results. Along with the biomonitoring technique, simulation models, pharmacokinetic (PK) models and exposomics techniques are under development in JECS. New analytical techniques include deciduous teeth measurements and -omics analyses. In particular, PK models and sensor technologies are one of the most important methodologies for future JECS exposure analyses. Statistical methods for examining the effects of intercorrelated multiple exposures as well as nondetection data should also be explored.

甲状腺クリーゼは甲状腺診療における救急の代表例であり,多臓器における非代償性状態を特徴とする.臨床症状に基づいて診断され,日本における診断基準が作成されている.同診断基準に基づいて,我が国における全国疫学調査が実施され,致死率が10%を超えていた.致死的疾患であるので,疑診の段階でも治療を開始することが肝要である.

The Nobility of Failure : Tragic Heroes in the History of Japan by Ivan Morris. This book traces a single theme throughout 16 centuries of Japanese civilization and the lives of nine of its heroes.Morris writes the motivation for writing this thesis was as follows.Mishima Yukio once suggested to me that my admiration for the beauty of Japanese Court culture and the tranquil world of Genji might have obscured the harsher, more tragic side of Japan. By concentrating my studies on men of action, whose brief lives were marked by struggle and turmoil, I have perhaps redressed the balance. He dedicated this book to Mishima.The nine tragic heroes dealt with by Morris are Prince Yamato Takeru, Yorozu, Prince Arima, Sugawara Michizane, Minamoto no Yoshitsune, Kusunoki Masashige, Amakusa Shiro, Ooshio Heihachiro, Saigo Takamori. What is the definition of “hero” ? The concept of quality of “makoto” which Japanese heroes have. Hoganbiiki (which literally meant “sympathy with the Lieutenant”). As well I will discuss western viewpoints on “hero”.I have doubts about Ooshio Heihachiro. Could he really have been a Japanese hero? If not, then why did Morris put Ooshio Heihachiro into this book? Here in this thesis, I want to consider the relation between Morris and Mishima from that point.

With the high development of computation requirements in Internet of Things, resource-limited edge servers usually require to cooperate to perform the tasks. Most related studies usually assume a static cooperation approach which might not suit the dynamic environment of edge computing. In this paper, we consider a dynamic cooperation approach by guiding edge servers to form coalitions dynamically. It raises two issues: 1) how to guide them to optimally form coalitions and 2) how to cope with the dynamic feature where server statuses dynamically change as the tasks are performed. The coalitional Markov decision process (CMDP) model proposed in our previous work can handle these issues well. However, its basic solution, coalitional Q-learning, cannot handle the large scale problem when the task number is large in edge computing. Our response is to propose a novel algorithm called deep coalitional Q-learning (DCQL) to solve it. To sum up, we first formulate the dynamic cooperation problem of edge servers as a CMDP: each edge server is regarded as an agent and the dynamic process is modeled as a MDP where the agents observe the current state to formulate several coalitions. Each coalition takes an action to impact the environment which correspondingly transfers to the next state to repeat the above process. Then, we propose DCQL which includes a deep neural network and so can well cope with large scale problem. DCQL can guide the edge servers to form coalitions dynamically with the target of optimizing some goal. Furthermore, we run experiments to verify our proposed algorithm's effectiveness in different settings.

学校現場でのいじめ問題への取組として演劇的手法がある。本研究では、生徒会活動の交流の場で行われたいじめ撲滅劇に着目し、いじめをテーマとする演劇が中学生の傍観者意識に及ぼす効果について検討を行った。その結果、劇上演後には、劇参加群のいじめに対する無関心、自己防衛の意識に有意な減少がみられた。一方、いじめ撲滅劇を鑑賞するだけであった劇鑑賞群には有意な変化はみられなかった。また、加害者支持の意識においても群間に有意な差がみられ、劇参加群のみ得点が減少していた。これらのことから、いじめをテーマとした演劇の取組が、劇参加の生徒会役員の傍観者意識に影響を与えていることが示唆された。

Background: Surgical management of degenerative lumbar spine disorders is effective at improving patient pain, disability, and quality of life; however, obtaining a durable posterolateral fusion after decompression remains a challenge. Interbody fusion technologies are viable means of improving fusion rates in the lumbar spine, specifically various graft materials including autograft, structural allograft, titanium, and polyether ether ketone. This study assesses the effectiveness of Tritanium posterolateral cage in the treatment of degenerative disk disease.Methods: Nearest-neighbor 1:1 matched control transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion with PEEK vs. Tritanium posterior lumbar (PL) cage interbody fusion patients were identified using propensity scoring from patients that underwent elective surgery for degenerative disk diseases. Line graphs were generated to compare the trajectories of improvement in patient-reported outcomes (PROs) from baseline to 3 and 12 months postoperatively. The nominal data were compared via the χ2 test, while the continuous data were compared via Student's t-test.Results: The two groups had no difference regarding either the 3- or 12-month Euro-Qol-5D (EQ-5D), numeric rating scale (NRS) leg pain, and NRS back pain; however, the Tritanium interbody cage group had better Oswestry Disability Index (ODI) scores compared to the control group of the PEEK interbody cage at both 3 and 12 months (p = 0.013 and 0.048).Conclusions: Our results indicate the Tritanium cage is an effective alternative to the previously used PEEK cage in terms of PROs, surgical safety, and radiological parameters of surgical success. The Tritanium cohort showed better ODI scores, higher fusion rates, lower subsidence, and lower indirect costs associated with surgical management, when compared to the propensity-matched PEEK cohort.
