In this paper, we present a new thermo fluid simulation method by using reduced-order models, enabling large, real-time, detailed thermal flows with continuous user interaction. Our method is ideally suited for real-time simulation of high-resolution thermal fluid dynamics because our simulator is still fast even in the case of large problems expressed by using more than one million meshes. Our results indicate that one thousand times faster simulation can retain same level of accuracy as conventional methods. In addition, our method provides continuous user interaction in real-time. It allows that we can immediately assess how a thermal field changes when controlling air-conditioning equipment in a data center.

The 65-Node Thermoregulation-Model was developed, based on Stolwijk model. The model has 16 body parts. Each body part consists of core, muscle, fat and skin. In addition, the model has a central blood compartment. Convective and radiative heat transfer coefficients were derived from the thermal manikin experiments. Under steady state condition, mean skin temperature; skin wet tedness and SET^* agreed well with those by 2 node-model. This model can predict fairly well for. skin temperature distribution under thermal neutrality. Under transient condition, trends of mean skin temperature and evaporative heat loss were similar to the subject experiment by Stolwijk.

When the training of shiphandling techniques is provided, we always have the problems that the objective of the training is ambiguous and that the effect of the training is not clear. To imporve the above problems, authors make a proposal of a new concept that the shiphandling techniques consist of elemental techniques and verify the concept by experiments. As a result, the reasonability of the proposed concept is confirmed. Consequently, the proposed concept is found to be contribution to the efficiency and the evaluation of effectiveness of the future training.

日本産ハゼ科魚類13種類の核型をコルヒチン処理した魚の鰐と消化管で観察した.体細胞の染色体数は2n=40, 2n=44, 2n=46, 2n=48の4型で, 各染色体の形態については, (1) すべての染色体がsubtelocentrics もしくはacrocentricsのものと, (2) metacentrics, submetacentricsおよびsubtelocentricsもしくはacrocentricsからなるものとが観察された.(1) のグループに属するものは, アシシロハゼAboma lactipes (Hilgendorf), 2n=40, マハゼAcanthogobius flayimanus (Temminck et Schlegel), 2n=44, ヨシノボリRhinogobius bruneus (Temmincket Schlegel), 2n=44, カワヨシノボリRhinogobiusflumineus (Mizuno), 2n=44, アゴノ・ゼChasmichthysdolichognathus (Hilgendorf), 2n=44, アベハゼMugilogobius abei (Jordan et Snyder), 2n=46, クモハゼBathygobius fuscus (Rüppell), 2n=48の7種類で, (2) のグループに属するハゼは, キヌバリPterogbius elapoides (Günther), 2n=44, ミミズハゼLuciogobius guttatus Gill, 2n=44, ヌマチチブTridentiger obscurus brevispinis Katsuyama, Aralet Nakamura, 2n=44, シマハゼTridentiger trigonocephalus (Gill), 2n=44, ウキゴリChaenogobiusannularis Gill, 2n=44, トビハゼPeriophthalmuscantonensis (Osbeck), 2n=46の6種類であった.

Aragonite-type of light calcium carbonate was synthesized by the successive reaction using calcined-hydrous scallop shells and calcined lime stones in the aqueous system with Mg<sup>2+</sup> ions under the CO<sub>2</sub> bubbling. In order to obtain the high aspect ratios of aragonite, the reaction temperature and concentrations of Ca<sup>2+</sup> ions in the 2nd step were important. The aspect ratio of aragonite increased when the reaction temperature was higher in the 2nd step than in the 1st step of the successive reaction. When the smaller amounts of calcium source were added in the 2nd step than in the 1st step, and the reaction temperature was lower in the 2nd step than in the 1st step, large particles of aragonite were produced with no smooth surfaces. The successive reaction was useful to extend the variety of morphologies in aragonite.

IATEXによる印刷原稿をその出力とする知的デスクワーク支援システムの機能と支援方式について述べる.本システムの原型は,IATEX利用援助システムであるが,その後の進展はその枠を越えたものになった.本システムは,原稿清書印刷のためにだけにIATEXを利用するのではなく,思考援助と整理,論理的な文書作成,さらに高品質な図や表の作成,ファイリング,手紙書式整え等,われわれが日常行なっているデスクワーク全般に利用できるように作られている.始めのシステムでは原稿をIATEX出力にすることに主眼を置き,図の取扱いは基本的な機能のみであった.高品質な説明図は高品質な文書に必然的に伴うべきものであるが,IATEXのこの部分の取扱いは極めて初等的で実用になり得なかった.IATEXの優れたところはテキストにおける文字の多様性と美しさ,バランスのとれた配置であるから,図の中においてもこれを利用することを考えた.著者らはそのため,既に軽験上得られた種々のアイディアを試みると共に,その後入手して使用可能になった公開ソフトウエアうち,われわれの目的に有効に利用できるものを積極的に取込んだ.本稿では始めに本システムの機能を簡略に示し,後半では説明図作成のための機能を取扱う.

Two glucosides were isolated from the whole plant of Cistanche salsa (C.A. MZY.) G. BECK and their structures were established as 8-hydroxygeraniol-1-β-D-glucopyranoside, a new monoterpene glucoside, and 8-epiloganic acid on the basis of chemical and spectral data.

The ginbunas (Carassius auratus langsdorfii) captured in the Kanto district were exclusively females, and there was no report of capture of male fish. For understanding this curious phenomenon, comparative studies were made on the chromosomes of the ginbuna and F_1 hybrids derivatived from a cross between the ginbuna and the kinbuna (Carassius auratus subsp.) and between the ginbuna and the loach (Misgurnus anguillicaudatus). Three females of the ginbuna captured in the Kanto district were used for the present investigation. The eggs spawned by each of the females were divided into two groups; the eggs of one group were artificially inseminated with sperms of the kinbuna, and the eggs of the other group with sperms of the loach. All the larvae grown up from the two types of hybrid crosses were identical with the maternal ginbuna in their appearance. Chromosome preparations were made from kidney and gill cells with the usual air-drying technique, after pretreatment with colchicine and hypotonic solution. The results of chromosome analysis showed that the maternal ginbuna had 156 chromosomes, consisting of 17 pairs of metacentrics, 31 pairs of submetacentrics and 30 pairs of acrocentrics. The chromosomes of 14 offsprings by the hybrid crosses, so far examined, had the same chromosome number of 156. Comparing the karyotypes of the maternal ginbuna and their offsprings, we found a gross similarity in their chromosomes as far as the morphological analysis is concerned. In the present study we failed to examine the chromosomes of the paternal kinbuna and loach. However, it is generally accepted that the kinbuna has 100 chromosomes and the loach has 50 chromosomes in both sex. The most likely explanation for the present results would be that the production of the triploid offspring might be arisen by gynogenesis, as was already pointed out by Kobayasi et al. (1970) and Kobayasi (1971).

光電子増倍管の光電面における2光子吸収を利用した光子対検出について紹介する。2光子吸収は時間的、空間的に接近した2光子に対して起こる現象であるため、光子対検出に用いることができる。また、2光子吸収による光電流の入射パワー依存性は、光子の統計的性質に依存し、コヒーレント光では2乗特性、時間相関を持った光子対では線形特性を示す。本稿では、コヒーレント光における光電流の入射パワー依存性の測定により、2乗特性を得たので、その結果を述べ、さらに時間相関光子対の生成実験の結果を述べる。
