The Kameoka basin is located to the west of the Kyoto basin. On the northeast side of the basin, two faults trending the northwest to southeast direction exist along the foot and the former edge of a mountain, respectively. They compose of the Kameoka fault zone with the length of about 13km (Okada&Togo ed.,2000).To elucidate such characteristics as distribution, subsurface structure and activity of those faults, we have carried out seismic reflections (P-waves) and deep drilling surveys across the faults. Volcanic ash and pollen analysis were also performed using core samples obtained by drillings. In this paper, we report the results of these surveys, especially about the characteristics of the concealed faults related to basin formation.By these surveys, three faults were detected along the three sections by the seismic reflection crossing the eastern half of the Kameoka basin, named as Fl, F2 and F3 faults from west to east. All faults incline to the northeast to form the reverse fault type uplifting to the northeast side.The Fl fault is concealed under the alluvial plain of the Katsura River and is an active fault having remarkable displacement of vertical direction to a few hundreds of meters. An accumulation of the displacement in the vertical direction is plainly recognized on the topographical and geological sections.The F2 fault appears in the wide deformation zone on the hanging. wall of Fl fault and is thought to be a subordinate fault of the F1 fault. From the distribution, the F2 fault is corresponded to be an active fault described by Okada&Togo ed. (2000) and identified at former edge of a mountain in the Kameoka basin. In this paper, we will call the Fl fault and the F2 fault as“ the Kameoka fault within the basin”. It is surely distributed about 4.6 km from the Umaji to the Hozu settlements in the southeast direction.Of the Kawarabayashi reflection profile, one reflection layer C has vertical displacement of 65m resulted from the activity of“ the Kameoka fault within the basin”. A pure seam from core samples of the layer is confirmed as so-called Oda Volcanic ash at 420-450ka. Therefore, the average slip rate of the vertical displacement is estimated at 0.15m per thousand of years or less, during the last about 430,000 years.We also found a fault scarplet (relative height 1.5-2.5m) on a low terrace. It seems to be formed by the F2 faulting since about 20,000 years ago. Hence the faulting of“ the Kameoka fault within the basin” since the late Pleistocene is certain, and also there is a possibility of the activity in the Holocene from the existence of the reverse-inclined terrace II at Umaji.Judged from distribution, the F3 fault is corresponding to "the Kameoka fault in the foot of a mountain" described by Okada&Togo ed. (2000). There is no evidence of the F3 faulting during the late Quaternary.

The aim of this review is to provide a summary of the known effects of exercise on neutrophil immune functions of athletes. We measured three neutrophil immune functions (i.e., phagocytic activity (PA), reactive oxygen species (ROS) production, and serum opsonic activity (SOA)) in various types of exercise. The following is our recent findings. (1) A regular exercise increases ROS production and decreases PA. We call this change a normal pattern, and an abnormal pattern except this change. (2) A prolonged, strenuous activity (e.g., rugby match and marathon) decreases both ROS production and PA. This is one of the abnormal pattern. (3) The exercise loading performed after a camp training decreases ROS production whereas PA does not change. This is another abnormal pattern. (4) When judoists who had stopped judo training for 6 months restarted their training, the exercise loading at the beginning of their training decreases PA whereas ROS production does not change. This is another abnormal pattern. (5) A regular exercise 2 months after the beginning of their training increases ROS production and decreases PA. This change is a normal pattern. SOA showed a similar pattern of changes to ROS under all conditions. The changes in neutrophil immune functions after performing various exercises might result from the balance between external factors (intensity and style of exercise) and internal factors (e.g., fatigue and physical pain). Therefore, the changes in three neutrophil immune functions after exercise might be an index of athletes’ condition.

This study attempted to measure the physical load on national high school baseball umpires during games played at Koshien stadium under extremely hot and humid conditions in the summer. Thirty-one umpires participated in this study. Thirteen of them were evaluated twice while eighteen were evaluated only once. The factors used to determine physical load were the following: body weight, oral temperature, blood pressure, heart rate, and serum biochemical elements. These were measured before and after the games. Heart rate was measured at one-minute intervals.<br>The results were as follows.<br>1) All the games were played under conditions of extremely high temperatures…32.1 degress celsius drybulb, 27.0 degress celsius wet-bulb, 36.8 degress celsius black-globe, 29.5 degress…WBGT which are likely to cause heat-related illnesses.<br>2) The physical load of baseball umpires during the game showed a 1.69 percent decrease in average body weight due to perspiration, a 0.43°C increase in oral temperature and an increase in heart rate. An examination of the serum biochemical elements showed that muscle deviation enzymes changed due to muscular activity and blood condensed due to perspiration. The physical load levels of baseball umpires were influenced by extreme heat and physical activity during the game.<br>3) There were no observable differences in either the amount of physical activity or the extreme heat environment among the umpires of different field positions. But the chief umpire's physical load showed a greater decrease in body weght, more blood condensation due to perspiration as a result of the heavier equipment he wore, more muscular activity and higher energy consumption than his counterparts on the bases.<br>4) The umpire's heart rates were higher during games than before games. The moment they were on the playing field. Their heart rates rose to an average of 134. It remained above 115 for about two hours, apparently caused by physical activity and heart load.

Philosophy can be understood as caring for the soul. In certain Greco–Roman traditions, the methods and doctrines of some schools of philosophy were considered to be therapeutic. For instance, this is acknowledged in texts on ancient medicine, especially those under the name of Hippocrates and also in the teachings of Epicurus. The understanding of philosophy as such was discussed by Nussbaum (1994) and Hadot (1995, 2002), and today the understanding of philosophy as therapeutic or as part of exercices spirituels is considered to shed light on the important role of philosophy. Although philosophy is commonly understood as a purely theoretical activity aimed at discovering truth, it is also widely understood as a part of care that helps us live a healthy and rational life. Hutter and Friedland (2013) and Faustino (2017) situate Nietzsche’s work in this tradition. Nietzsche referred to himself as a “psychologist” and repeatedly referred to his diagnoses of decadence and asceticism. However, as Werkhoven (2017) noted, the issues that Nietzsche diagnosed may be peculiar to modern people. Hutter (2013) does not explicitly treat of this gap; nevertheless, a certain distinction is needed between Nietzsche and the ancient exemplars of this tradition. Nietzsche’s own description of his therapy focuses on the affirmation of life. This approach assumes the modern understanding of life after the death of God. Here, what is life? What kind of therapy did Nietzsche suggest his suffering contemporaries? To pursue these themes, in this article, I revisit Michel Henry's interpretation of Nietzsche’s philosophy in relation to the phenomenology of life. In this context, I draw attention to the phenomenological dimension of Nietzsche’s therapy. I situate both in the tradition of philosophy as the therapy of life, which is an extension of the tradition of philosophical care, which has its origins in ancient times.

舞鶴-小浜地域の5万分の1精度の地質図を新たに作成し,上林川断層の破砕帯の観察結果などと合わせて,超丹波帯と丹波帯の地質構造発達史を検討した.超丹波帯は後期ペルム紀〜三畳紀(?)付加体の上月層・大飯層・氷上層に,丹波帯はジュラ紀付加体の周山・雲ヶ畑・灰屋・鶴ヶ岡・由良川の5つのコンプレックスと古屋層に区分される.これらの地質体は衝上断層によって境され,大局的には北に向かって構造的上位かつ古い地質体が分布するパイルナップ構造を形成している.超丹波帯および丹波帯は東西~北西-南東走向で西〜北西に傾斜した軸を持つ半波長数kmの褶曲構造を形成している.この褶曲構造を切って北東-南西方向に,左横ずれカタクレーサイト帯を伴う地質断層としての上林川断層が延びている.活断層としての上林川断層は右横ずれ成分が卓越し,より古い地質断層の一部が横ずれインバージョンによって再活動していることが判明した.

本研究では、各食物繊維摂取後の呼気中に排出される水素、メタン濃度から、大腸内の発酵の有無と程度を推測し、腸内細菌叢をいくつのパターンに区分することを目的とする。平成19年度は、ラフィノース、難消化性澱粉の検討を行ったが、20年度はペクチン、セルロース、ラクツロースその検討を行った。平成21年度の実験手順は以下の様であった。(1) 対象者を3グループ(ペクチン、セルロース、ラクツロース)にわけ、各グループに各食物繊維20グラムを摂取させる。(2) 食後呼気採集バックで終末期呼気を300cc採集。操作を39分毎に食後15時間迄実施。(3) 呼気ガス中の水素、メタン濃度をガスクロマトグラフィーにて測定。(4) 同時に全対象者の腸内細菌(光岡方式による13種類)を培養法で同定。(5) その結果、水素発酵の有無で以下の3パターンに分類された。1群 : ラクツロース・ペクチン発酵、セルロース非発酵群(4例)2群 : ラクツロース発酵、ペクチン・セルロース非発酵群(7例)3群 : ラクツロース・ペクチン・セルロース非発酵群(3例)腸内細菌叢に関して3群を比較すると、Clostridia(lecithinase negative)が1群で他の群より有意に高い陽性率を示した。そのためクロストリジウムが呼気水素の上昇(発酵の有無)に関係する可能性が示唆された。以上より、食物繊維摂取後の呼気水素を測定することで、腸内細菌の状態を推測する可能性が示唆された。

Trials for exploitation of solar cell using organic dye substances were undertaken. The natural organic dye substances isolated from spinach leaves, grape skin, and synthetic dyes such as porphyrin derivatives were examined as the typical of organic dye substances. Fine powdered titanium oxide grains adsorbed the dyes described above were sintered on fluorine-doped stannic oxide glass. The amounts of electricity generated by prepared solar cells were measured by using a hand-made solar box.

Fine powdered titanium oxide grains adsorbed the dyes described above were sintered on fluorine-doped stannic oxide glass. A variety of devices for preparing solar cells was done to result a solid and constant value of produced electricity.

Trial for exploitation of solar cell using organic dye substances were undertaken. 17 synthetic porphyrins and 4 ratural porphyrins were estimated to use as a dye of dye-sensitized TiO_2 solar cell. To increase the PM(power max) of phytochlorin cell(F-cell) that has highest capacity among the porphrin cells mentioned above, two approach were chosen. One was to make use of auxiliary substances such as hydropuinone, quinone A, L-(-)- phenylalanine which increased PM of F-cell. PM enhancement up to 47% was realized. The other approach was to make use of synergy effect of other porphyrin (red) and auxiliary substances such as hydroquinone. There components system enhonces PM of F-cell up to 60%. Prelininary experiments were executed to make hybrid solar cells composed of organic sensitizers and inorganic materials such as phtalocyanine-porphyrin-silicon of hybrid cells.

子どもの生活環境を考えた場合、家庭での生活習慣は重要である。本研究では、中学生時期の親子に対しての生活習慣改善を促す介入プログラムの検討を目的に、親子関係と子どもの生活習慣の関連、及び親子の身体特性の関連について検討した。その結果、親子で身体特性及び生活習慣の関連が認められ、さらに親子関係が子どもの生活習慣に影響を与えていることが示唆された。子どもの生活習慣改善のためには、親子関係を見据えながら、親をも含めた支援が必要である。
