The freshwater shrimp Palaemon paucidens C type is likely to be endemic to Amami-Oshima Island. We investigated the distribution of the shrimp in 34 rivers on Amami-Oshima and Kakeroma Islands, and implemented DNA analysis and rearing experiment for the seawater requirement of the larvae. This type was found only in Katoku River in the southeastern part of Amami-Oshima Island. Mitochondrial (16S rDNA) and nuclear (18S rDNA) DNA analyses revealed substantial sequence differences between the C type and other two types (A and B) collected from the Japanese Archipelago. This result strongly indicates that the C type is a unique group that is geographically isolated and has diverged genetically from the two types in the Japanese Archipelago. The zoeal larvae of C type showed higher survival rate in 30 % and 70 % seawater than 0 % or 100 %, suggesting that this type has amphidromous life history as the B type. Considering the limited distribution and low genetic diversity of the C type, the risk of extinction is probably high. For the viability of this type, conservation of the landscape of Katoku River, including its estuary, is needed.

日本に侵入したと推測されるカワリヌマエビ属を遺伝解析した結果、2つのクレードに分かれた。クレードIは日本在来亜種ミナミヌマエビと分布域が重なったが、クレードIIは日本と中国の両方にみられた。雄の外部形態からも、前者は在来、後者は外来種と判断された。日本の4地点では両クレードが混在し、外来種との交雑による遺伝子撹乱の可能性が示された。聞き取り結果と合わせると、日本のカワリヌマエビ属は中国の華中・華北地域、近年、兵庫県で発見された共生種ヒルミミズは華中地域から導入された可能性が高い。

中国の長江から利根川流域に導入されたハクレン集団の遺伝的多様性を検討するため,成魚,流下卵,仔魚の計 56 個体を対象に mtDNA 調節領域(454 bp)のシーケンス分析を行った。その結果,26 種類のハプロタイプが検出され,ハプロタイプ多様度(h)は 0.920,塩基多様度(π)が 0.011 であった。これらの値と既報の長江中下流域の集団の値との間には大きな差異はなく,ハプロタイプの系統関係も近縁であった。これらの結果から,利根川集団が長江の中下流域を起源としており,導入後も大きな有効集団サイズによって再生産を繰り返していることが示唆された。

Hippocampus haema Han, Kim, Kai & Senou 2017 has been found along the coast of the Sea of Japan from Akita Prefecture to Yamaguchi Prefecture in Honshu, the Yatsushiro Sea in Kyushu, and the southern coast of the Korean Peninsula. However, there were no records of this species from the Pacific side of the Japanese Archipelago, with the exception of an example of a partial mitochondrial DNA sequence recently deposited in the DNA data bank. We collected a seahorse specimen from the seagrass bed at Koyadori Fishing Port in Onagawa Town, Miyagi Prefecture, on the Pacific Ocean side on 29 August 2022. Based on morphological characteristics and mitochondrial DNA analysis, this specimen was identified as H. haema. This study provided detailed morphological information and the DNA sequences of the specimen and compared them with previous morphological and DNA data on H. haema and the related species. The values for the 16 morphological characters examined were within the range of previously reported values for H. haema, except for the coronet height from the mid-point of the cleithral ring (CHMC). Small but substantial number of nucleotide substitutions were found between this specimen and previously reported H. haema in Japan, and phylogenetic analysis showed that this specimen belonged to the Korean clade.

スジエビには遺伝的に異なる2タイプ(AとB)が知られているが,簡便に判別できるマーカーがない。18S rDNAの塩基配列に基づき,これら2タイプを判別するマルチプレックスPCRアッセイを考案した。日本における本種の分布範囲を網羅する152地点で採集した422個体を分析したところ,各タイプ特有の断片を併せ持つ個体,すなわちヘテロ型は観察されず,AとBタイプは生殖隔離しているものと考えられた。両タイプとも全国的に分布するがAタイプは河川及び湖沼に分布する一方,Bタイプは河川のみで見られた。

Defender of the People (Defensor del Pueblo) under the Spanish Constitution of 1978 shows us one of the most recent models of the contemporary Ombudsman system. He/She plays not only the role of a traditional Commissioner of Parliament that supervises public administration, but also that of the protector of constitutional rights and freedoms. In addition, he/she serves as the prosecutor that denounces laws as unconstitutional before the Constitutional Court. This paper refers to the figure of the Defender in the context of the present system of protection of constitutional rights and freedoms, and analyzes what it means today.

Nationalism or regionalism is now one of the most important factors that might have an influence on the stability of Spanish frame of government under the Constitution of 1978. 外来種となるカワリヌマエビ属Neocaridina spp.と在来種のヌカエビParatya compressa improvisaの生息状況を宮城県北部の河川・水路ならびにため池で調査した.調査した河川・水路の114箇所のうち57.0%にあたる65箇所でカワリヌマエビ属の生息を確認した.一方,ヌカエビは44箇所(38.6%)でしか確認されず,また,1地点あたりの捕獲数もカワリヌマエビ属の半分以下であった.ため池では,カワリヌマエビ属が出現した池は56箇所のうち11箇所と少なかったが,ヌカエビは36箇所で確認された.一般化線型混合モデルによる検定と合わせて分析した結果,どちらのタイプの水環境でも,ヌカエビ生息地にカワリヌマエビ属が侵入した場合には,ヌカエビの生息に負の影響を及ぼす可能性が示された.したがって,今後も宮城県においてカワリヌマエビ属の分布は拡大し,ヌカエビの分布は縮小することが示唆される.
