The contents of L-carnitine in various meats were examined. As a result, it was shown that the contents of L-carnitin differed greatly according to the species. The red meat contained more L-carnitine. The low content was observed in egg and milk. It was shown that as the animal grew up the contents of L-carnitin decreased.

Shaping good habits and manners is one of the most important goals, as well as developmental tasks, in early childhood. Although it has been said that discipline in the home is vital to children's education, Japanese parents, in recent years, are busy with their daily work, and their children's upbringing is left almost entirely to early childhood caregivers and teachers. Consequently, caregivers and teachers have some to take weighty responsibility and to have an important influence upon the children's living. Young children's daily living is most effectively shaped by their "significant others". Therefore, teacher-child relationship quality should be given special consideration.

本稿では、文部科学省の教育政策用語としての「チーム学校(チームとしての学校)」を検討する。「チーム学校」をめぐる議論の主な論点の整理を行い、日本の学校における多種多様な専門職による協働・連携の可能性を検討する。「チーム学校」との関連において、学校図書館に求められる新たな役割やその可能性についても考察する。 The purpose of this paper is to examine "team schools (school as a team)" as an education policy terminology of the Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology Ministry. This article considers the main points of "team schools" at issue. This study focuses on the possibilities of the collaboration of various professions in Japanese schools. It is argued that we should explore the new roles and possibilities of school libraries in relation to "team schools".

The present paper discusses characteristics of old age in the life cycle from a psychological perspective and examines successful aging and methods of support. First, validity of the "continuity theory" that explains successful aging from the perspective of personality theory inold age is reviewed. Next, "integration and despair," which are developmental tasks in old age are described from an existential perspective, and complexity of the process of "acceptance of death" is discussed. Furthermore, as typical developmental diseases, depressive disorders are focused on and the importance of psychosocial approach is discussed. Based on the fi ndings from above, it is suggested that practice of clinical developmental support and the community support dynamic system suitable for developmental characteristics in old age, which includes interpersonal relationships and the community are essential for providing support.

何かをするための余暇ではなく、私という存在の根源に帰ることのできる余暇という時間を得ること、そこに自由の出発点がある。そしてこの自由によって私たちは現実にある「しがらみ」から離れた別種のコミュニケーションを生み出し、新しい「つながり」を紡ぐことができる。政治とは人々の多様なつながりを組織することであり、それによって社会を改良することである。しかし、先進国でもっとも低水準の余暇しか持ち合わせない日本人は、貧弱な政治組織に低迷せざるを得ない。より良い社会を作るために多忙からの解放が必須である。余暇は祈りや瞑想を通じて、生きることの意味や世界のあり方に思いを巡らすことのできる時間ともなる。労働と生産を追い求めた産業社会の行き詰まりに直面して、私たちは余暇に力点を置いた生活と社会を構想し直さなければならない。未来への希望は余暇にこそある。

都市圏の通勤電車の7人掛けロングシートに設置されているスタンションポールが、座席選択に与える影響について検討した。20代の男女63名に質問紙を配布して調査したところ、スタンションポール横の座席が選択されやすいこと、また性差があり女性の方がスタンションポール横の座席を選択しやすいことが示された。スタンションポールは空間を十分に分節するものではないため、主観的な空間分節が座席配置に影響すると考えられる。今後、知覚心理学やリーダーシップとの関連を考慮した研究を展開する必要があろう。

Shimoda Utako (1854–1936), a renowned female educator, was severely criticized in the socialist daily newspaper The Heimin Shinbun in 1907. The newspaper insulted her and printed as many as 41 serial articles between February 24th and April 13th where she was referred to as “the vamp.” This paper examines the logic and background of the Shimoda-bashing in relation to contemporary insults directed at female students, and considers their historical meaning. The results are the following. First, Shimoda, along with female students, was sexualized, and baselessly slandered in the media as being sexually “corrupt.” Second, both Shimoda and female students were perceived as threats to the conventional gender order, who challenged the traditional idea of femininity, since Shimoda was active in a male-dominated area and female students were considered to be getting secondary education that was supposed to belong to men. Third, Shimoda, in particular, was seen as an “enemy of the working class” by socialists in the context of class conflict. The relentless personal attacks on Shimoda were based on a two-fold antipathy toward her, induced by class politics as well as gender politics.

Aspergillus luchuensis and A.luchuensis mut. kawachii (=A.kawachii) are used for koji-making in Japanese distilled liquor “awamori” and “shochu” production. The origin of these domesticated strains is thought to be a contaminant of wild black-Aspergillus from natural environment. We isolated black-Aspergillus from a fields. Isolated strains were identified as A.tubingensis (=A.saitoi) by the genomic structure analysis. Thai rice koji was prepared using two isolates and four commercial strains. The characteristics such as acidity, citric acid content, amount of myceliums of koji made by isolates were not remarkable different compared with that of A.luchuensis and A.kawachii. The activities of enzymes (α-amylase, acid tolerant α-amylase, glucoamylase, neutral protease, acid protease and acid carboxypeptidase) in koji of isolates were slightly lower than that of commercial strains. From these results, it is estimated that the present commercial A.luchuensis strains originated from black-Aspergillus living in the natural environment.
