This paper focuses on YASUMI Saburo (1880‒1965), Vice-admiral of Japanese Imperial Navy and one of the "China Hands" and his "Plan for Chinese Naval Reconstruction", proposed to Chinese Naval authorities during Taisho decade. He had a unique idea for National Defense, which emphasized cooperation between Japan and China and opposed to U.S. or German influence in the East Asia. This paper further pointed these points: (1) The moderates in Japanese Navy regarded Japanese military expansion toward China since the Twenty-One Demands as mistakes and useless for consolidating Japan's endurable defense power. (2) The moderates also insisted on the need to improve Chinese national power, especially reconstructing her Navy. (3) Yasumi's plan for Chinese Naval Reconstruction turned to be a root for the interchanges among Sino-Japanese navies during 1930s. The author fully uses Japanese and Chinese first-hand materials, such as Admiral Yasumi's personal collections and his oral history.

It is known that renal blood flow is reduced after clamping of the renal artery. But there are few studies of renal blood distribution after ischemia and its mechanisms are still poorly understood. Changes of renal blood distribution were studied in dogs using a four channel hydrogen gas electrode before and after one hour ischemiao In the same experiment alternation of catecholamine content (noradrenaline, adenaline and dopamine) in the renal tissue were examined electrochemically with a high-pressure liquid chromatographic technique. In each expriment the renal tissue was divided into four areas: cortex, juxtamedullary cortex, outer medulla and inner medulla.1) Before ischemia, blood flow was high in the cortex, juxtamedullary cortex and outer medulla as compared with the inner medulla.2) After ischemia, blood flow was decreased significantly in the cortex and juxtamedullary cortex, but only moderately in the outer medulla and inner medulla3) Before ischemia, the noradrenaline concentration was high in the cortex, juxtamedullary cortex and outer medullae But the inner medulla contained very little noradrenaline. The adrenaline and dopamine concentrations were low as compared with the noradrenaline except in the inner medulla.4) After ischemia, the noradrenaline concentration was elevated significantly in the cortex, juxtamedullary cortex and outer medulla. The adrenaline and dopamine concentrations were not altered in any regions.5) It is concluded that noradrenaline may have an effect on the intrarenal hemodynamic changes after ischemia as a causative factor.

Development of ionic liquids for biomass processing, especially our recent development of functional ionic liquids has been described. For efficient biomass processing, we analyzed the physical chemistry of ionic liquids, focusing on the possibility to dissolve naturally-derived materials for energy conversion. We herein reviewed design of a wide variety of functional ionic liquids with special ion structure to enable dissolution of cellulose, extraction of valuable materials from biomass, and hydrolysis of cellulose. Moreover, we described a new class of an analytical method to analyze biomass processing with ionic liquids.

<p>Lederbergは「宿主とその共生微生物はそれぞれの遺伝情報が入り組んだ集合体である"超有機体"として存在していると考えるべき」と提唱しているが、そのタイミングが2003年のヒトゲノム解読完了以前であることは興味深い。その後、Gordonらのグループにより次世代シークエンサーによる細菌ゲノムの16SリボソームRNA遺伝子領域を用いた腸内細菌叢の網羅的な解析により"肥満腸内細菌叢"の考え方が発表された。</p><p>また、1945年にReyniersによって無菌動物飼育装置が開発され、無菌動物を飼育できると同時に、ノトバイオート動物の確立が可能となった。その結果、インターロイキン-2ノックアウトマウスにおいて、SPFマウスでは潰瘍や炎症を起こすが無菌マウスでは潰瘍や炎症は起きないことやがん自然発症モデルマウスを、無菌化するとがんを発症しないことが報告された。無菌マウスでは、様々な組織や免疫系の異常や未発達であることがわかってきた。Hondaらの報告によると、ヒト腸内細菌叢による17型ヘルパーT細胞の誘導は、腸内細菌の強い接着は必須であった。また、制御性T(Treg)細胞も無菌マウスではほとんど誘導されず、抗生剤投与したマウスではTreg細胞数が激減することから腸内細菌の関与が考えられ、無菌マウスにヒト腸内細菌叢を投与しTreg細胞誘導能によりスクリーニングした結果、<i>Clostrdium</i>属細菌によってTreg細胞が強く誘導されていることが明らかとなり、これらの菌株群をマウス大腸炎モデルとアレルギー性下痢モデルマウスへの経口投与によりその症状を緩和させている。唾液細菌叢の<i>Klebsiella pneumoniae</i>が腸管に定着することで1型ヘルパーT細胞を誘導し、そのため慢性炎症性腸疾患の発症する原因となっている可能性が、ノトバイートマウスとSPFマウスの比較に加え抗生物質処理での結果から導かれている。</p><p>以上、Gordonらの2006年の報告に端を発しての約12年間に各種疾病や生体影響と腸内細菌叢との関係が次々と明らかにされてきた一連の報告について概要する。</p>

<p><b>Introduction:</b> Heterotopic pregnancies are rare, with an incidence of approximately 0.003% in a natural ovulation cycle. We report a case of combined ovarian and intrauterine pregnancies, in which laparoscopic surgery confirmed the diagnosis and enabled successful pregnancy.</p><p><b>Case Report:</b> A 31-year-old nulliparous primigravida had received ovulation-inducing treatment, and pregnancy was successful. At 5 weeks of gestation, one gestational sac was found in the uterus, but at 6 weeks of gestation, a gestational-sac-like structure was found in the right adnexa, and the patient was referred to our hospital. Upon admission, her serum hCG level was 76,303 mIU/mL, and transvaginal ultrasonography revealed the presence of a gestational sac inside the uterus, a gestational-sac-like structure in contact with the right adnexa, and an echo-free space around the uterus. As intraperitoneal bleeding and heterotopic pregnancy were suspected, the risks and benefits of general anesthesia and laparoscopic surgery were explained to the patient, and an emergency laparoscopic surgery was performed.</p><p>  Her intraoperative findings revealed intraperitoneal bleeding and enlargement of the right adnexa, with a 9.3-cm gestational sac adhered to the surface. A diagnosis of ovarian pregnancy with concomitant intrauterine pregnancy was confirmed, and the gestational sac on the right adnexa was removed. The postoperative course was uneventful.</p><p>  A spontaneous vaginal delivery occurred at 39 weeks of gestation and resulted in a live birth.</p><p><b>Conclusions:</b> We report a case of combined ovarian and intrauterine pregnancies. Pregnancy can be adequately continued with appropriate diagnosis and treatment, and laparoscopic surgery may be a useful treatment option.</p><p></p>
