This paper provides a framework to examine the impact of design of Benefit Corporation (BC) on sustainability management. The BC is a new form of legal business entity formed in US to pursue social benefit or responsibility while undertaking responsibility to return profits to shareholders. With the activities of B Lab, a nonprofit organization with capacity of 501-c-3 in the US, Certified BCs are now being established all over the world. Although BC is designed for business corporations with all the traditional characteristics, it possesses a unique characteristic of empowering corporations to undertake corporate social responsibilities while suppressing the traditional corporate objective of maximizing shareholder profit. The main question that needs to be answered is how the management can achieve corporate sustainability while absorbing the costs of CSR activities and suppressing the shareholder pressure on profit maximization. The comparative research framework and the results presented in the paper attempt to provide explanations on the underlined issues. In building this framework, this paper takes into account the conceptual relationship between the design of BC system, the sustainability management and CSR.

This investigation was carried out to determine whether two water pressure irrigating devices (Porta dent and Water pik) were effective in removing dental plaque in facial crevicular and interproximal areas in man and to compare the effects on the plaque removing ability of these two irrigating devices, rinse and toothbrushing (Roll method).Nine adults who had normal dentition, few dental restorations and clinically healthy periodontal tissue were served as the subjects of this study. They were cleansed all the tooth surfaces and made plaque score O. They were forbidden to use toothbrushes and other oral hygiene aids for 24 hours. After the plaque scores before cleansing were evaluated, they practised the given cleansing method for five minutes and the plaque scores after cleansing were evaluated.They took part in four cycles of this experimental process.The averages of the percentage of plaque removal on all the tooth surfaces were as follows:(I) facial----1) 11.7% Porta dent, 2) 10.7% Water pik, 3) 3.3% rinse and 4) 72.7% toothbrushing.(II) facial proximal----1) 9.3% Porta dent, 2) 18.1% Water pik, 3) 5.4% rinse and 4) 22.3% toothbrushing.The results of an analysis of varience showed statistically significant difference at five percent level between Porta dent and rinse in facial area, between Water pik and Porta dent in facial proximal area, and between Water pik and rinse in facial proximal area.In facial area, the plaque removal effect of toothbrushing was more striking than any other methods.

沖縄マルチメディアモデルスタジオシステムは,通信・放送機構の展開事業用システムとして沖縄と東京を光ファイバ回線で結び高速な映像コンテンツのネットワーク転送手段を用いて,遠隔地におけるコンテンツ制作の実現を目指すシステムである.本システムを用いた研究において,遠隔地間における映像コンテンツのコラボレーション編集を実現するための主要技術として仮想コンテンツによる映像転送方式を提案した.さらに,遠隔制御における機器の操作性,編集結果の転送,遠隔地間ネットワーク伝送性能の3点に関する実験評価を実施し,方式実現の可能性と遠隔地間におけるデータ転送性能の課題について考察した.Okinawa Multimedia Model Studio System is the Study System of Telecommunications Advancement Organization of Japan to realize the video edit collaboration between Okinawa and Tokyo by use of the optical fiber.In the study of this system,we propose the video contents transmit method using the virtual content description that the key technology for the video edits collaboration.And we estimate the method according to the operability of remote control,transmit of the editing result,and performance of the network data transfer by experiences.And then we get the possibility of this style of video editing and study the problem of the long distance data transfer.

超高齢化社会を迎えつつある現在の日本においては,生活習慣病の予防が重要な社会的問題となっている。その予防には個々人が若い時代から自ら日常的に健康的な生活を維持していくことが重要である。栄養(食事),運動,休養は健康づくりの三本柱であるが,毎日欠かすことができない食事の役割は大きい。近年,若い女性のダイエット志向や高齢社会におけるアンチエイジング志向から,健康維持に対する関心が高まり,いわゆる健康食品やサプリメントなどの商品が増加している。しかし,それらの中には効果が実証されていない食品や健康被害を招きかねないものも含まれている。このような食環境において,科学的エビデンスに基づいた食材や加工食品の開発と提供は極めて重要な課題である。本稿は,その好例の紹介であり機能性食品の開発を進める上で大変参考になる事例である。

Business processes are defined as functions and information relationships between functions in the phase of business requirement definition when enterprise information systems are developed. The function which is defined in the phase of business requirement definition is decomposed into the unit called a program or a module in the lower phase. The description method of the flow chart type such as DFD has been used for the visualization of the decomposition of function conventionally. In recent years, many enterprise information systems are improved by executing Business Process Re-engineering (BPR) or introducing Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP). In this case, the definition of the information relationships between functions is important. The examples utilizing the description method of the matrix type called G-RD are seen to visualize information relationships. Therefore, the comparative experiment is performed by system engineers to visualize the same business processes utilizing DFD and G-RD. In this experiment, system engineers decompose functions and visualize functions and information relationships between functions. And information relationships which are added or changed by the decomposition of functions are measured. As the result, it is proved that G-RD is able to have prevent omissions or errors of information relationships.

基礎学力の低下、特に語彙力の低下は、高等教育機関における講義理解において大きな影響を与えている。そのため、教授する側は、学生の語彙力の実態やレベルを把握したうえで授業を進めていかねばならない。本稿では、高等教育機関において教授する側の参考とすることを目的に、高等学校国語の教科書に収録されており、ほとんどの高校生が学ぶ共通教材である小説「羅生門」の脚注の比較を行った。その結果、時代による差だけでなく、同時代であっても出版社により脚注を付けられた語に差異があるということが明らかになった。この結果を基に、授業時における説明の仕方を含め、今後の語彙指導のあり方を検討していかねばならない。
