Every child protection system has two primary goals: to ensure the safety of children and to preserve the parent-child relationship. However, in the United States especially, the juxtapositioning of these two goals are thought to bring about a serious dilemma. According to the liberal thought, which places much value on the autonomy and self-reliance, state intervention to the family must be kept at a minimum. It therefore follows that parents do not get any support unless they are found to be abusive to their children. Under this ideology, parents are blamed in cases of child abuse because it is thought that the parents hold full responsibility for raising their own children. Parental rights are terminated to keep the child safe if the parent (s) cannot improve their parental abilities after a temporary period of assistance. Some possibilities for overcoming the problems of these contrasting alternatives can be found in the arguments of E. F. Kittay and M. Minow. They reconstruct liberal theory using the concepts of "dependency" and "relationship" and argue that society should acknowledge the social value of the parent-child relationship and support parents. If generous support for parents can reduce the parental stress, it will help prevent abuse from the outset, or at least prevent its recurrence. The latest practices on this theory can be appreciated to have broadened the possibility of concurrently realizing the two original goals: the safety of children and the preservation of the parent-child relationship.

The performance of Deep Learning Inference is a serious issue when combining with speed delicate Monte Carlo Tree Search. Traditional hybrid CPU and Graphics processing unit solution is bounded because of frequently heavy data transferring. This paper proposes a method making Deep Convolution Neural Network prediction and MCTS execution simultaneously at Intel Xeon Phi. This outperforms all present solutions. With our methodology, high quality simulation with pure DCNN can be done in a reasonable time.

Experimental evidences suggest that the bases contained in Thalictrum thunbergii DC. (Japanese name “Akikaramatsu”) differs slightly by its habitat. In order to elucidate this point, the root of this plant collected in Nagano Prefecture was processed and a comparatively large amount of magnoflorine (I) was obtained, while its leaves and stems yielded takatonine (II). The leaves and stems of the same plant collected in Kochi Prefecture yielded magnoflorine (I) and berberine (III). These results are summarized in Table I.

From the standpoint of Jungian psychology, we have made a comparative study of Chat Botte between Perrault's original work and its animation by Toei Doga (1969), in whose production a now famous animation director, Hayao Miyazaki, participated as a young one of the making staff. The conclusion is that the significance of this animation is on the full and realistic realization of the factors latent in the original work : the trickstership of Chat Botte and the self-realization process of human characters, which are important concepts in Jung's analytical psychology. Especially, the process in this animation may be interpreted as that of one's autonomy and independence, his combination with a creative trickster, and his integration with his anima.

The major purpose of this article is to describe the problem of preparation and education of school counselors in Japan, and especially to highlight the following : (a) the current status of school counseling services and the major issues that both teachers and counselors are dealing with today in Japanese school systems, and (b) the preparation and education of school counselors in the U. S. A., stressing the author's own experience of participating in the school counselor preparation programs at Boston University Graduate School of Education. This review further discusses the future challenges for school counselors and anticipated trends of the school counselor preparation programs at the graduate level in the university setting in Japan.
