A number of temporary storage sites have been commissioned to contain soils and wastes generated from the decontamination works after the accident at Tokyo Electric Power Company’s Fukushima Dai-ichi Nuclear Power Plant. At these sites, volume reduction has been observed in the flexible container bags caused by the dehydration and decomposition of the decontamination waste inside. This situation leads to uneven settlement of the top of these flexible container bags in these temporary storage sites, and might result in problems such as leakage through top and bottom liners installed to contain these container bags. To deal with these problems immediately, the Geomembrane Technical Committee, Japan Chapter of International Geosynthetics Society has conducted deliberations and made reports on procedures for selection and installation of storage containers that are to prevent polluted water from leaking outside of storage sites, structures, and barrier materials, a new inspection procedure for seaming of cover geomembranes, installation of cover materials that are to counter uneven settlement of soil, and also temperature control procedures to prevent natural ignition of waste. This paper summarizes the deliberations and the procedures adopted.

38℃台の発熱と肝胆道系酵素の上昇を主訴に紹介され,肝生検から診断に至った血管内リンパ腫(intravascular lymphoma;IVL)の2症例を報告する.症例1は診断に至ったものの化学療法が間に合わず救命できなかったが,症例2は早期診断から早期に化学療法を施行できたため寛解導入に成功した.IVLの早期診断法として肝生検は有用な方法の1つと考える.

大学でいくつかの科目についてWebベースの個別化教授システム(PSI)を実践している。本論文はそのデザイン,実践と評価について報告する。PSIコースは自己ペースによる学習と,単元ごとの通過テストによって完全習得学習を指向することを特徴としている。学習教材はHTMLで記述され,受講生にCD-ROMの形で配布された。3~5年間の実践でのドロップアウト率は10%以下であった。コースの最後に行った授業評価によると,PSIコースは一斉講義形式の授業よりも高い評価を得た。

The importance of skills has been increased recently as manual labors are still widely on demand. We have investigated proper ties commonly observable among variety of skills. However, it is not easy to study the embodied knowledge, i.e. the items of knowledge enabling skills, given the complexity of tacit knowing, especially when its contexts are not specified. Therefore, we focused on a rhythm action game to investigate open skill, a class of skills whose contexts are unknown, with a hope that our study might cast a new light on tacit knowing under unspecific contexts. We analyzedthe skill required toper form the rhythm action game using an Eye Tracker. We found through our experiment that the experts fix their eyes on a particular point while they play the game. Similar phenomena are observed in other activities,where the skills are thought to be open one. The experts are found to control their visions by limiting the time to watch items so that they can perform the task most effectively, which suggests they may automate the perception-action cycle.

The present study examined how leaders’ evaluation and judgment of members are influenced by their “implicit theories” (e.g., Dweck, 1999). Participants were asked to play the role of team leader and then observed a team member performing poorly. They were asked to decide how much reward they should distribute to the failed member and to allocate the remaining time between him/her and a new member who had not yet worked on the task. As a result, participants who believe in malleable abilities (incremental theorists) increased the evaluation of the failed member when that member claimed that he/she made an effort, whereas participants who believe in fixed abilities (entity theorists) evaluated that member based only on outcome. Furthermore, entity theorists expected a new member to achieve an average level of performance and allotted more time to him/her, whereas incremental theorists expected a new member’s performance to be below average. There was no difference between their expectations of the failed member’s next performance. Results suggest that entity theorists may be better than incremental theorists at placing the right people in the right place.

グレリンは胃から分泌される成長ホルモン分泌促進活性や摂食亢進作用をもつペプチド・ホルモンで, その特徴的な構造は3番目のアミノ酸であるセリン残基の側鎖が, 中鎖脂肪酸であるn-オクタン酸の修飾を受けていることである. しかもこの修飾基がグレリンの活性発現に必須である. グレリンは強力な摂食亢進作用を示す. 中枢においてグレリンは, 視床下部弓状核のニューロンを活性化して, 摂食亢進作用を発揮する. 胃から分泌され血中を流れるグレリンは, 末梢からの空腹シグナルを中枢に伝える液性因子として現在のところ唯一の例である.
