In the world of games and sports, various rating methods have been developed and used in order to rank players or teams according to their real abilities - Elo rating in chess and Massey rating in college football, for instance. Players and teams are re-rated according to the results of matches, and rating scores and rankings can be updated instantly. However, the followings may be pointed out as drawbacks of prevailing rating methods: It possibly takes time to get stable rating values. It is difficult to properly set parameters included in the updating formulae. And rating values tend to be inflationary.In this study, traditional and standard rating methods are extended by Bayesian statistical modeling so as to mitigate such drawbacks. Then, they are applied to real records of games and sports.

2013年以降のアベノミクスの効果により、日本経済は回復の兆しを見せ始めている。企業業績は改善され、内部留保の金額は過去最高に至るまでとなっている。一方で、日本の労働分配率は戦後最低の値を示しており、労働分配率の低下は実体経済の弱体化と格差の拡大をもたらす大きな社会的課題として捉えられている。本研究では、日本の上場企業の公開財務データをもとに、機械学習を用いて日本の上場企業における労働分配率および平均給与の説明可能性について検討するとともに、資本市場から実体経済へのトリクルダウンを阻害している要因について検討した。結果、企業の時価総額の上昇率が高い企業群が労働分配率を下げ、トリクルダウンを阻害している可能性を示唆した。

I conducted a study on Sakurai Onnajuku, which was headed by female educators Chika Sakurai and Fuki Kuratsuji, who were families to each other. The study revealed how the said cram school was merged with Nihonjoshi Koutougakuin.The year of the merger was "1941". It was confirmed that before the war, the faculty members of Nihonjoshi Koutougakuin valued English education without being tied to the prevalent public opinion of expelling English.As they celebrate their 100th anniversary of establishment, they would like to continue promoting education and research so that women can play an active role in and open up their lives to our globalizing society.

地域IXには大きく2つの目的がある.1つはNational IXと同様にネットワークの階層化によるトラヒックの分散である.もう1つは地域IXを経由したエンドシステム間に最短な経路を提供することである.1997年12月より,山梨情報ネットワーク相互接続機構(amanashi Network Information eXchange:Y?NI)の運用を行っている.本稿では,YNIXの運用および評価実験について紹介する.その結果,地域IXがジッタ,遅延,パケット損失に関して優れた特性を持つネットワーク環境を提供できることを実証的に示す.

近年,国内の各地において,地域内の通信を効率的に実現することを目的として地域IXを構築するケースが増えている.地域IXは通信の効率化をはかるだけではなく,地域内通信の安定性の向上や耐障害性の向上などにも効果が期待されている.富山地域においても1998年に地域内にIXを実験的に構築し,地域内のプロバイダや大学,研究機関など計10以上の組織間で相互接続を行ってきた.著者らは富山地域IXを中心として経路情報や通信状態などの観測を行い,地域ユーザ間の通信経路の安定性に関する研究を行った.本論文では通信経路の安定性に関する評価関数を定義し,富山地域IXで得られた観測結果をもとに,地域IXを介さずに行う通信に比較して地域IX経由の通信経路が非常に安定していることを示す.また,不安定な経路では経路の変化にともなって深刻な問題が発生することがある.本論文では地域ユーザ間の通信が地域外を経由する場合に経路の変化にともなう通信障害や通信品質の変化が発生しうることを実例を用いて述べ,地域IXの実現によりこれらの問題を回避できたことを示す.

JGN2の大きな目的の1つである,全国レベルでの研究者相互の協調活動活性化を実現するために,さまざまな取り組みと活動が展開された.地域活動の強化による研究開発活動の活性化と,広域協調型教育研究活動基盤の整備は,ハードウェアだけではなく,ソフトウェアおよびコミュニティの充実が必須となる.本稿では,JGN2利活用の地理的な展開に関する具体的な活動の総括を行い,今後の課題の整理を行う.さらに,地域ネットワークとの連携や,地域に根ざしたアクティビティとの協調など,JGN2での成功は今後の地域活性化のモデルとしても価値が高いと思われる.情報処理研究者としてネットワークというメディアを使った地域貢献に関する考察も行う.

地球温暖化防止のために二酸化炭素(CO2)、メタン(CH4)および一酸化二窒素(N2O)などの温室効果ガスの排出量削減の数値目標が設定されて以来、「地球環境に優しい乗り物」として自転車が再認識され始めた。中・長距離輸送面では鉄道もまた同様である。この両者の相互利用の歴史は古い。本稿では、日常的な鉄道への自転車の持ち込みから、その後のレジャーとしてのサイクリング列車(サイクルトレイン)および自転車を分解し袋に詰めて持ち込む「輪行」に至るまでの歴史的展開をレビューし、2011年に近畿日本鉄道が実施したサイクルトレインの現状と問題点について考察する。

中将姫説話が江戸時代にどのように演劇化されていったかを、土佐浄瑠璃「中将姫」を中心にして考えてみたい。中将姫は当麻寺の曼陀羅の制作者として鎌倉時代以来喧伝されてきた女性である。その説話は、縁起・絵解き・絵巻などとなって、当麻寺の宣伝に一役を担って、大衆の間に根を下ろしていった。中世においては、物語化されてお伽草子となり、さらにこれが劇化されて、能にも作られている。江戸時代を迎えて、中将姫説話は、歌舞伎や浄瑠璃に仕組まれて、変貌しながら大衆の中に浸透していったのである。その変貌の様相に、中世説話の近世演劇化の実態を跡づけることができるように思われる。

From an economic perspective, Artificial Intelligence Systems are built to increase efficiency, productivity and reliability. Assistance systems like voice assistants (VAs) are one example of this kind of interactive technology; yet based on the Intelligence Augmentation approach, they ought to primarily support the users' capabilities and allow them to act with self‐determination. Nevertheless, those systems are usually perceived as a black box. Thus, on the one hand, VAs can be seen simply as a tool for fulfilling a task, although on the other hand, the conversational interaction raises expectations and needs for humanlike interactions. According to the international norm ISO 9241‐11, a usable system is one that can be used to achieve specified goals with effectiveness, efficiency and satisfaction. We use this definition of usability to delineate a framework for the design and evaluation of VAs. We posit that certain human values like trust and well‐being are crucial for a satisfying user experience with VAs. Specifically, the system ought to prevent frustration of psychological human needs in order to ensure the users' self‐determination — for practicing design and evaluation of VAs in a wholesome manner. Our aim is to provide guidelines that move the development of VAs towards enhanced usability and human centeredness. Considering each usability component, we discuss how to fulfill context‐based user needs and requirements in order to ensure effectiveness of the VA interaction. To address the efficiency and satisfaction components, we develop evaluation guidelines for VAs based on the interaction principles according to ISO 9241‐110 and current literature.
