The purpose of this research is to show why consumer chose a centrally located urban shopping center or a suburban shopping center in a city, and using quantitative analysis which present factors influenced the customer's choice. The results show that the majority of shoppers under 20 years old chose the central shopping center because of a variety of factors including service, facilities, merchandise, and convenience of public transportation. On the other hand, those shoppers 30 to 50 years old with families chose the suburban shopping center because of the convenience of shopping by car.

本研究では,高等教育機関の教学データを一元的に管理・分析し,教職員によって学生指導に活用されることを目的としたIRシステムを開発,評価した.具体的には,学生の留年可能性を早期に発見し,指導に役立てるための留年判定モデルを運用するシステムを開発した.留年判定モデルでは,ソフトマージン・サポートベクターマシンを採用し,機械学習ライブラリを用いてスタンドアロンのPC上に実装した.過去の学生データを用いて留年を判定し,予測精度の確認と教員による評価を受けた結果,留年予測の精度は93%であり,判定結果の理解度も高かった.一方で,表示されるデータの解釈やインタフェースについては課題が残された.

大規模な津波が海岸堤防を越流する際には裏法肩近傍において顕著な圧力低下が生じ,それによって被覆ブロックが離脱・流出することが知られている.本現象の再現計算においては,激流中を運動するブロックを追跡する必要があり,これまでに十分に再現可能な三次元数値モデルは存在しなかった.そこで,本研究では,移動物体の追跡の容易な粒子法を用いた数値モデルの開発を行う.本数値モデルでは,極端な負圧の発生によるtensile instabilityに対応するために圧力ノイズの低減を目的とした高精度スキームを導入するが,それに若干の修正を加えることで計算時間を5~6割程度に短縮した.本数値モデルの適用により,堤防裏法面に設置された被覆ブロックが堤越流の作用によって回転しながら離脱・流出する過程が良好に再現された.

本研究は、学生の学業上の成功(AS; Academic Success)を達成するための修学支援を高度化するために、教学データを用いて大学や学位プログラムごとに重要となるAS指標群を自動生成すると同時に、重要指標を自動選択して、各大学や学位プログラムにおいて「望まれる学生像」とその達成度合いの予測値を示すASモデルを形成し提示するシステムを開発することをめざしている。本研究では、研究内容を以下3つのテーマに分け、順に取り組むことで計画的に研究を遂行するものとしている。《テーマ1》理想的な学生像の解明を通じたASモデルの確立、包括的なデータセットの定義、《テーマ2》重要指標の選定によるASモデルの生成、AS(Academic Success)モデルの表示方法、《テーマ3》開発されたシステムを効果的に用いる学生指導方法のアクションリサーチ。平成29年度は、このうちテーマ1について取り組み、考えうる「理想的な学生像」と、使用可能なデータセットの調査を行い、ASモデル構築のための基本情報を整理した。さらに、具体的な予備調査として、卒業時のAS度合いについて特定の学位プログラムの学生に対するアンケート調査を実施した。また、学習者モデルの分析手法についての研究、教学IRやFDに係る基礎研究、機械学習による修学状態の予測モデルに関する研究などをそれぞれ分担して遂行した。次年度は、これらの研究で得られた知見を活かし、テーマ2におけるASモデル生成に取りかかる予定である。

The youth labor problem is very serious in modern Japan. This paper examines the youth employment and unemployment policy of the Japanese government during the Heisei Recession. During the Heisei Recession, the youth unemployment rate rose heavily and the presence of young people called "freeters" (people who prefer not to take regular jobs) and NEET (Not in Education, Employment, or Training) increased. This paper's purpose is to show the characteristics of the policies during this time and to discover the frontier of employment policy. This paper uses empirical evidences from the documents of the Ministry of Health, Labor, and Welfare (MHLW), the Council on Economic and Fiscal Policy, and the Strategy Council to Foster a Spirit of Independence and Challenge in Youth. First, this paper explores the implications of the Human Capability Strategy (Ningenryoku Senryaku), which the government believes empowers young people. The government, which depends on the Human Capability Strategy, executes policies to improve individual vocational views and capabilities and to dissolve mismatches in labor markets. However, this paper shows an alternative strategy to match young people and employers through various social networks. Theoretically, these two strategies are not contradictory to each other. Second, this paper uses the MHLW documents to analyze the youth employment and unemployment policies during the Heisei Recession. Three characteristic concerns on policies are revealed by this analysis: (1) Prior to fiscal year 2002, the government prepared policies to foster the vocational views of students and provide a placement service for students and "freeters." (2) Since fiscal year 2003, when the Human Capability Strategy appeared in the documents of the Japanese government, the policy to cultivate vocational views was adopted for both students and "freeters." (3) However, youth employment and unemployment policies lack in matching young people and employers through social networks. Finally, this paper insists that the frontier of the youth policy is to make use of social networks.

This study aims to extend our knowledge of organizational anticipatory socialization by examining the antecedents and consequences of learning of new recruits about an organization between the job offer and organizational entry. I collected longitudinal data from a large Japanese manufacturing company and analyzed the socialization programs conducted by the organization and proactive behaviors of new recruits. I found that proactive behaviors are significantly positively related to newcomer learning, while socialization programs have both positive and negative effects on newcomer learning. Moreover, I found that newcomer learning has significant positive effects on the distal organizational outcomes of affective commitment, expectation in the organization, and achievement motivation to work after organizational entry. The implications of these findings for organizational anticipatory socialization are discussed.

Based on data from a large-scale manufacturing company in Japan, this study quantitatively analyzed the relationship between the recruitment process for prospective graduates and attitude formation of those who have been appointed to work but have not yet commenced the employment. Consistent with my hypothesis, the results suggest that appropriate management of recruitment and selection processes lead to favorable reactions from new appointees to the company. Specifically, it was found that favorable impressions of the company's briefing session for potential applicants and of interviewers' behavior and attitude in job interviews had a positive effect on the appointees' views. It was also found that it is useful for interviewers to provide applicants with sufficient information about the company and examine the applicants' aptitude for the company during their communication.

近年、新水先法が施行され水先制度や水先人教育が大きく変わり、乗船経験の極端に乏しい若者にも三級水先人になる機会が与えられた。三級水先人は、本格的な業務に就くまでの過程で、水域や岸壁ごとに限定解除を受けることになっている。しかしながら、各水域や岸壁の着岸に対する難易度は水先人の経験による感覚に依存しているのが現状である。本研究では、ベテラン水先人を対象に階層分析法を用いることで各水域、岸壁の着岸難易度を定量的、総合的に評価することを提案する。

A pilotage is one of important factors in order to keep a safety and a security of main harbors in Japan; however, pilots' accidents sometime happen while they work. The pilots' accidents happen well for the transfer to/from the vessel/pilot boat; pilots and pilots' associations do their best for reducing the accidents under International Maritime Organization (IMO) convention. In other word, a safety measure for the transfer is the important subject for pilots. The purpose of this paper is to evaluate a pilot's physical performance while their work using large model sensors (acceleration sensors), and we read characteristics for the transfer. This research is first challenge to evaluate the pilots' performance in real situation. If their performances become clear, we will be able to tackle the new method for reducing accidents.

A few of marine pilots have gotten severe personal accidents on board and closed their businesses. Their pilot associations have been struggling to keep their safety on board. However, their situations are not improved dramatically nowadays. In this paper, we investigate into the marine pilots' personal accidents on board for 20 years from 1989 to 2008. From the results of the investigations, we propose methods for keeping marine pilot safety on board. The results of the investigations show that their dangerous behavior happens between a pilot ladder and a pilot boat transfer. For avoiding such kind of dangerous situations, we propose to develop a supporting device for receiving falling them.

Recently, the environmental destruction problems are international social problems. The transport systems are important elements for the conservation of the air environment. The environmental parameters are CO_2, NO_x and SO_x from the transport systems. This paper describes the effects of the reduction for CO_2, NO_x and SO_x by systematizing ship's navigation schedule planning (Eco-navigation systems: Eco-navi) which can utilize the tidal current and the wind in inland sea. The Eco-navi consists of three sub-systems: "Cell decision system", "Current calculation system", and "Wind calculation system". We define 'Cell' as the minimum unit for calculating the hours underway. The cell, latitude: 1' ×longitude: 1', has the current and wind information. We can calculate the hours underway by utilizing the current/wind effects. We calculated the hours underway for the neap tides, ligging the tides and the spring tides of 'Kobe' to 'Hesaki' by using the data of training ship Fukae Maru, and its time saving ration is 5.1%, 9.6%, and 14.8% respectively, even if we reduce the system errors (3.8%). We proposed about 5% reduction of air pollution (CO_2, NO_x, SO_x) from the vessel in inland sea.
