Although a causal relationship has been suggested between Team Identification and Place Attachment, it may be necessary to verify the existence of the parameters between them. In this research, "The rise of Team Identification is accompanied by the rise in the evaluation of the social environment of the community, and leads to the rise of Place Attachment," was aimed at the hypothesis to be verified.    As a result of the two-way analysis of variance based on data from three longitudinal surveys, we determined that Team Identification ascending group significantly increased both Place Attachment and the bonds of the community as compared to the non-ascending group, and it was suggested that the evaluation of the social environment of the community rose in the ascending group. It can be said that the hypothesis was supported, considering the fact that "regional attachment influence structure" was confirmed in Imabari-City, the area of survey on this study.

Although studies conducted to understand why athletes do not use Performance Enhancing Drugs (PEDs) are becoming more common, little is known about the problem from the “elite” athlete’s perspective. This study qualitatively identified the factors that had influenced the decisions not to dope of twelve retired Japanese elite athletes (six males and six females) who won Olympic medals after the Athens Games in 2004. Thematic analysis was used to extract meaning from the semi-structured interview data using MAXQDA11. Personal and socio-environmental factors underpinning their decisions not to dope were identified in the accounts. Personal factors included: (1) personal moral stance; (2) judgment from a wide perspective; (3) intrinsic motivation; (4) task orientation; and (5) resilience. Socio-environmental factors were: (1) education from parents; (2) education from coaches; (3) social pressure; (4) fair play culture in Japan; (5) secure elite sport climate; (6) monetary benefit from winning a medal; (7) access to and knowledge of PEDs. The above-mentioned factors might be useful for developing future anti-doping strategies under a situation where there is a growing social need for actively engaging in promoting elite sports as a national strategy in order to generate success in the Tokyo Olympics in 2020, and in view of the fact that the pressure for athletes to engage in doping may be increased.

ブタ精液中の膠様物の諸特性を解析評価した。膠様物は、強酸性および強アルカリ性で溶解できたが、中性周辺では比較的安定していた。また、子宮内に多く存在する多核白血球の膠様物への走化性はなく、また、極めて高い保水性が認められた。粉末膠様物を精液と混和することで、精子カプセルを作成することが出来、そのカプセル中で一定時間精子が生存でき、また徐々に精子が放出されることを確認できた。化学的な解析により、膠様物はo-グリカンを多く含むことが明らかとなり、糖鎖解析とペプチド解析から特異的な糖鎖とタンパク質を含むことが明らかとなった。これらの知見は、医療分野を含む広い領域で有効活用できる可能性を含む。

Over 1.1 million injuries and accidents happen in schools every year in Japan. Most of them happen during sports activities such as physical education or sports club activities. In order to prevent accidents it is important to elucidate the contributing factors by focusing on the occurrence. The purpose of this study was to elucidate the characteristics and factors contributing to sudden death during sports activities in schools, by using text-mining analysis. Data was collected from the database of death and disability cases publicized by the Japan Sports Council. There were 127 cases of sudden death during sports activities from 2005 to 2012. The results by morphological analysis and co-occurrence network analysis revealed two characteristics. The first point was that the ′act of running′ had a close relationship with the occurrence of sudden death in schools. The second was that not a few cases of sudden death happened even though the children had done warm-up exercises before the accident. Our results suggest that the relationship with the act of running, warm-up exercise and the occurrence of sudden death should be kept in mind when sports activities in schools are held. In addition, our study shows that data-mining analysis has a potential to objectively analyze more than one million injuries and accidents in schools.

【目的】本研究は,ブタ精液の凍結保存液への細胞膜非透過性トレハロース(T)の添加または凍結保護物質のグリセリン(G)との置換の可能性について検討した。【方法】15℃で一晩静置した大ヨークシャー種雄ブタ射出濃厚部精液を使用した。希釈液(20%(v/v)卵黄含有8.8%ラクトース液)中に精子を再浮遊(1×109 cells/ml)後,5℃まで2時間で冷却した。その後,OEP(1%(v/v)および異なる組み合わせの糖類含有希釈液を同量添加し(最終濃度2%(v/v) G,100 mM T,0.5%(v/v) G + 50 mM T), 0.5-mlストローに充填・封入した。そのストローを液体窒素の液面上方4.5 cmで15分間静置後,液体窒素中に投入した。その後,39℃温湯に30秒間浸漬したストローから精液を回収し,修正モデナ液中で遠心洗浄し,凍結前後の精子の運動精子率および生存精子率,融解後の先体反応精子率および活性酸素種量を調べた。【結果】すべての区で凍結の前後で運動精子率および生存率が有意に低下した。2% G添加区および0.5% G + 50 mM T添加区の融解後の運動精子率(それぞれ20.31±1.52%および16.12±2.35%)は,100 mM T添加区のそれ(5.56±0.62%)より高かった(P0.05)。 以上の結果から,GのTでの置換は精子の運動性を低下させるが,50 mM T + 0.5% G存在下では,2% G添加対照区と比較して,凍結融解後のブタ精子の運動性を低下させないことが示された。

Elite sports investment is usually justified on the basis that elite sports success has a wide range of social-psychological benefits among the general population. However, insufficient evidence about these positive effects has made it difficult to show the validity to ‘alternative voices’ opposed to the elite sports funding. The purpose of the present study was to estimate the monetary value of elite sports success in Japan by using the contingent valuation method (CVM) addressing the problems in sports management literatures. Data was collected from n=850 stratified randomly selected Japanese by means of an Internet survey. Respondents were asked to state their willingness-to-pay for elite sports policy, which aims Japan being ranked in the top-five in total number of gold medals in the summer Olympics and the top-ten in winter, which is the official target of ‘The Sports Basic Plan’ , using a double-bounded dichotomous choice. The results revealed that median WTP was 405 JPY with a certain amount of validity, which was calculated from the whole population as 42.2 billion JPY. Our results suggest that Japanese believed that social-psychological benefits generated by the elite sports policy exceeded the government elite sports budget (about 16 billion) .
