A tap test is used to inspect the full surface of exterior walls, and its results can vary depending on the investigator’s senses. In this study, it was examined how to improve the testing accuracy for detecting lifting of RC wall tiles. Research has shown that diagnosis techniques must be considered from the perspective that judgment results vary, that diagnostic accuracy can be improved by accumulating techniques, and that work time varies greatly among individuals. As a result, it is beneficial for the investigator to confirm the diagnosis criteria with several people during the preliminary on-site meeting.

As the trend toward a decarbonized society accelerates, Net Zero Energy Houses are expected to become more popular. In recent years, the residential sector has been facing the problem of inadequate adjustment of power supply and demand due to the expansion of renewable energy installations.The objective of this study is to understand the actual situation of energy consumption and electricity supply and demand in Net Zero Energy Houses. The primary energy consumption of all-electrified and gas-combination ZEHs were compared. In addition, the relationship between house attribute, occupant lifestyle, and primary energy consumption of all-electrified ZEH were analyzed.

Building alterations often occur when the buildings ought to be updated to meet new standards. In such processes, original values of existing buildings tend to be neglected in favor of hasty demolitions and economic benefits from aggressive alterations. In this research, we will investigate the mechanism of architectural alterations that respect the value of existing buildings. It will help uncover the successive values of buildings that are to be preserved rather than imminently demolished.

The pennellid copepod Lernaeenicus ramosus Kirtisinghe, 1956 is a marine fish parasite in the Indo-West Pacific region. Serranid fishes (Perciformes) are the major hosts of L. ramosus, and as its non-serranid host, a single blenniid fish (Blenniiformes) is known from Australia. A metamorphosed ovigerous female of L. ramosus was collected from a grub fish, Parapercis sexfasciata (Temminck & Schlegel, 1843) (Perciformes: Pinguipedidae), in coastal waters of Suruga Bay, an inlet of the western North Pacific Ocean, Shizuoka Prefecture, central Japan. This represents a new and the second non-serranid host records for L. ramosus and it is also the first record from a pinguipedid fish. The female is briefly described. A pennellid copepod previously reported as “Pennella sp.” from the same host species from the Iyo-Nada Sea, part of the Seto Inland Sea, western Japan, is considered to be L. ramosus.

Cystic meningiomas are rare. The authors presented a case of cystic meningioma in the right frontal convexity of a 36-year-old female. The patient was admitted because of progressive headache, foggy sight, diplopia, and left-sided motor weakness of two months' duration. The preoperative diagnosis of cystic meningioma was made by plain skull X-rays, CT scans, and cerebral arteriograms. At surgery, a tumor was found adherent to the dura in the right frontal convexity with multiloculated intratumoral cysts containing xanthochromic fluid. Histologically, the tumor was a transitional meningioma with intratumoral infarction in the vicinity of the cysts. The pathogenesis of the intratumoral cysts in this particular case were considered intratumoral infarction resulting in microcysts and then finally macrocysts. Ninety-six cases of cystic meningiomas reported in the literature were reviewed and the pathogenesis of cyst formation was discussed. Nauta's classification of four types of cystic meningiomas is important when considering the different pathogenesis of cyst formation in meningiomas. Adding to the four types of cystic meningiomas classified by Nauta et al., the authors suggested another type, namely, the subdural cyst mainly seen in infant meningiomas.

In this paper, I conducted a survey on reviews in monthly literary magazines in the second decade of the Showa era. The survey focused on the four types of general magazines( “Chuoukouron”,“Kaizo”,“Bungeishunjyuu” and“Nihonhyouron”). After introducing the research situation on the reviews, I obtained data on the posting situation of that 10 years. As a result, I found that review postings were less than expected. In addition, two years earlier than the end of the war, I also found that the reviews had disappeared from those magazines.
