This paper traces the history of Japanese popular songs fromthe viewpoint of "Travel". The historical span of the discussionis confined to the Showa era, for the following two reasons:1) The modern system of producing popular songs wasestablished at the very beginning of the Showa era;2) The distinct contrast between urban areas and the provinces,together with the social unrest in those days, motivated thetraveling and drifting of the people, and consequently broughtthe travel songs or sight-seeing songs into fashion.In this paper, travels sung in popular songs are categorizedinto three types: outward travel, homeward travel, andwandering travel. Outward travel is motivated by a yearningfor some place and can thus be viewed as future-oriented travel.Homeward travel is motivated mainly by homesickness or somememory of the past. Wandering travel is accompanied byhomesickness in many cases. The popular songs of the Showaera are reviewed according to these three types of travel.In sections 1 and 2, the themes of travel in popular songs aresummarized, and then songs whose words contain place namesor descriptions of local scenery are analyzed. It is pointed outthat changes in the ratio of the number of such songs to thenumber of all popular songs are very similar to change inpopulation drift.In sections 3, 4 and 5, popular songs are reviewed andanalyzed in regard to outward travel, homeward travel, andwandering travel respectively. The evident correlation betweenthe words in these songs and the social environment is shown.Section 6 deals with a few songs relating to spiritual travels.In section 7, changes in travel songs are reviewed froma unique analytical viewpoint. Assuming that the story of thewords of a popular song is scenarized, each song can becategorized as either a close-up type or a long-shot type interms of camera angle, according to the words depicting scenesand manners and the personal pronouns contained in the wordsof the song. Based on this idea, several genres of travel songs areparameterized and mapped on a two-dimensional space, correspondingto the camera angle of the story of the song. Theresult of the mapping shows that travel songs became more andmore of the close-up type with the passing of time, which seemsto parallel the increasing tendency of Japanese society towardprivate-life-oriented conservatism.

動きの正確な模倣は人間に固有の能力であり,他の動物には見られない.この能力が発揮される生理学的メカニズムは今日でも十分に解明されているとは言い難い状況にある.確かに,現代の科学技術を用いれば,空間内に展開される人体の運動の軌跡を正確にトレースしてそれを機械で再現することは可能であろう.しかし,スポーツにおける技能伝承の場では,他者の動きを学習者自身の身体で再現することが求められる.本論では,人間に固有の「動きの模倣」の方法を「なぞり」という視点から解説し,この延長線上に動きのイメージトレーニングが成立していることが示される.これによって,スポーツにおける想像力の役割とその重要性が明らかになれば幸いである.

「軌道用敷石」とは,近代の都市交通の主役を担ってきた路面電車に欠かせない「板石舗装」〔1957(昭和32)年には全国の軌道敷舗装の78.84%を占めていた〕の表層に用いられる舗装材である.板石舗装用材として最も普及した軌道用敷石は,路面電車を支えてきた重要な石材だった.本研究ではこれまであまり研究されてこなかった軌道用敷石の体系化の基礎資料として,軌道用敷石の規格と産地を調査し,整理することを目的とした.その結果,軌道用敷石は舗装材の要求性能を満たす仕様(材質,形状,寸法,許容差,仕上げ)が明確な規格品であり,国内の主要6ヶ所の産地(茨城県稲田,群馬県沢入,山梨県塩山,岐阜県恵那,広島県倉橋島,香川県小豆島)から明治から昭和にかけて全国に供給された花崗岩であることが明らかになった.

We herein report a case of acute myocarditis possibly related to the second dose of an mRNA-coronavirus disease 2019 vaccine in a 45-year-old woman with no remarkable medical history. She had a fever for one week following the second dose of the mRNA-1273 severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 vaccine. One week later, she presented with chest pain and electrocardiogram changes. Her serum troponin levels were elevated upon admission. Echocardiography showed segmental wall motion abnormalities of the apex, apical portion of the anterior and inferior walls. The findings of cardiac magnetic resonance imaging were consistent with acute myocarditis.

The effect of the proportion of blue on a plate, between white and blue, on the appetite was investigated. Three types of plate were used: Japanese, Western, and Chinese style plates that were blue and white, or only blue. Depending on the ratio of blue to white, the plates were classified into four groups: A (10-20%), B (25-35%), C (55-65%), and D (100%). Two meals of Japanese, Western, and Chinese food, involving a total of six dishes, were served on each type of plate, and photographed. An evaluation panel looked at the pictures of the A, B, C, and D plates simultaneously and evaluated their effect on appetite by scoring on a questionnaire. The evaluated mean value for the A plates was significantly higher than that for C and D, suggesting that the plates with a blue-to-white ratio of 10-20% increased the appetite. The evaluated mean appetite value for D was significantly low with all the meals, suggesting that all-blue plates reduced the appetite. The correlation coefficient between the ratio of blue to white and mean appetite was -0.79, indicative of a negative correlation between these variables. The effect of the saturation of blue was also examined. Plate E with a blue-to-white ratio of 100% at a lower saturation than D was tested, and a similar questionnaire survey was conducted. The evaluated mean appetite for E was lower than that for D in all cases except with one Western meal. The results suggest that a blue plate with low saturation reduced the appetite more than a blue plate with high saturation.
