A Leprosy Sanatorium, known as "Okinawa Airakuen" of Yagaji, Nago City was established in 1937 by AOKI Keisai, a former member of Anglican Church hospital named Kaisyun Hospital located in Kumamoto Prefecture. The formation of "Okinawa Airakuen", a leprosy sanatorium was not an easy task. AOKI encountered many problems in the process of establishing the sanatorium. One main problem was the ignorance about the disease of leprosy at that time; and the negative implications of leprosy in terms of social and religious point of view in Okinawa. In 1958, AOKI Keisai wrote a book entitled "The Chosen Island'. In this book, AOKI described his trials and tribulations in the founding of leprosy sanatorium, "Okinawa Airakuen". He also elaborated in his book, his own personal experience and belief about Buddhism and Christianity and leprosy. The Chosen Island was published in 1958 with 200 copies in circulation. It was not intended for sale. After a decade, and before AOKI died in 1968, he wished to Reverend WATANABE Nobuo of Tokyo Confession Church, and requested him to reprint the The Chosen Island indirectly. In 1972, Reverend WATANABE edited and published the first reprint of The Chosen Island; and to date it is now on its fifth printing. However, there was a discrepancy and difference between the original The Chosen Island and the reprint edition. And according to Reverend WATANABE in his commend he made in the book, that the 1972 version, is not the reprint of the first edition; and new ideas have been added for the purpose of attracting wider readers. Aside from this, few pages from the origin book of AOKI Keisai's, The Chosen Island have been deleted. The pages that have been deleted from the original book, made the reprinted edition different from the original The Chosen Island in content and substance. Whether it was a conscious or unconscious effort on the part of Reverend WATANABE to ignore the important points of The Chosen Island is part of this research.

症例1 40 歳台,男性.健康診断で受けた腹部超音波検査で腹部大動脈解離を指摘された.さらに造影CT で,腎動脈分岐部レベルから左総腸骨動脈にかけて限局性大動脈解離が確認された.

実乗は、相模大山寺別当に一八六八年三月着任直後、総督府より大山寺の立退きの宣告を受け、直後立退と本尊の山外移転を決めた。大山麓民は即時にこのことに反対し、本尊を山内に留めた。一八七六(明治九)年、俄かに本尊を納める不動堂再建の動きが起こり、麓村民・明王寺他子院・大工棟梁景元の三者で再建協議を開始した。村民は再建資金を旧御師持の檀那場から寺僧が調達するなど三者の個人的活動に依拠していたためこの協議には限界があった。一八八三(明治一六)年三月、新たに山口左七郎はじめ麓村の豪農・篤農や有力者を筆頭に、新築・庶務・寄付・出納の四係で構成された再建協会が組織化され、一八八五(明治一八)年一一月に不動堂が完成した。三者間の協議は、資金調達が最も難題であったが、麓村の豪農・篤農や参詣道の重立、有力者の結束により、慶應四年閏四月に廃寺通告された大山寺は、明治一八年一一月、僅か二〇年後に不動堂として再興された廃寺復興の稀な例である。別当実乗麓村民再建資金豪農・篤農大工棟梁
