1)昨年度に引き続き線形論理や種々の新しい論理学理論の立場から、伝統的な認知科学的理論推論モデルや理論哲学的論理推論モデルの批判的分析や改訂を行った。特に、メンタルモデル理論とメンタルロジック理論に関する認知心理学の古典的論争やシンタクスとセマンティクスに関する論理哲学、情報科学等における二元論を現代論理学的観点から見直した。2)これまでは比較的少数の被験者調査を行うのが常であったが、統計的手法による実証的なデータ解析による大規模調査の方法論の研究を行った。「Baroco論理推論課題集」と呼ばれる演繹推論標準課題集を本申請グループが開発してきたが、これをさらに改良した。この課題集を用いて通常のIQ課題の関連性や、図形的表現による論理推論と言語的理論推論の(パフォーマンス)比較、抽象的推論と内容的推論の比較、信念相反的推論や領域依存的推論、論証構成と反例検索などに関わるデータの分析を行った。白血球中のRNAの転写量の差を調べるという方法論を導入することによって認知能力の関連遺伝子の所在とその効果量について調査する方法論を開発した。

Science systematically re-organizes our ordinary experience. It seems to me that we can speak of the idea of a conceptual scheme here, while avoiding difficulties which Davidson points out. The idea of a conceptual scheme does not necessarily lead either to scheme-content dualism or to relativism. We have our ordinary experience as organized from the outset, not as totally unorganized. We do not need the notion of totally unorganized content. If a defender of the idea of a conceptual scheme distinguishes incomparability and incommensurability, he does not have to be committed to relativism. Davidson claims that translatability makes the difference of conceptual schemes nonsensical. But his identification of a conceptual scheme with a language is disputable. For we can use the words 'elm' and 'beech', even if we cannot tell an elm from a beech. The principle of charity that Davidson resorts to does not work well for such highly theoretical knowledge as science, though it is important in itself. The process of coming to know is analogous to an action in that it follows a certain set of norms. A conceptual scheme serves as a system of norms. Davidson ignores the normative aspect of conceptual schemes. For he accepts only causation as the source of knowledge.

In this paper, we attempt to introduce the "philosophy of play," which extensively examines the question of what play is. In previous noteworthy studies, it has been shown that people were born to play, and that to play is to live. This paper is an attempt to approach this idea from the viewpoint of A. N. Whitehead's educational philosophy. In Chapter 2, as a starting point for discussing play, we will examine the classical "philosophy of play" through the philosophies of Schiller, Huizinga, Fink, Bateson, and others who believed that the very act of the creation of this world was play and that culture is born in the world of play. In Chapter 3, we discuss the "rhythm of education" in Whitehead's philosophy of education from the viewpoint of the connection between life and play, and examine the rhythm of education from the perspective of Whitehead's philosophy of organism. To the best of our knowledge, there have been no previous attempts to approach the philosophy of play from the standpoint of the philosophy of organism. This paper is an attempt to consider the philosophy of play, which originated from Schiller's aesthetics and was developed by Huizinga, Fink, Caillois, and others from the viewpoint of Whitehead's philosophy of organism or process philosophy.

イスラームを代表する哲学者イブン・スィーナー(Ibn Sina=Avicenna,1037年没)の思想の全体的解明に向けて、第一に、彼の主著である『治癒の書』(al-Shifa')形而上学部分を様々な刊本・写本に基づいて精読し、邦訳と注釈を作成した。第2に、ギリシア哲学、シリア語圏の思想、中国思想の専門家とともに同書の成立過程を明らかにするとともに、その思想の後世への影響について多面的に解明した。
