欧州委員会は、2016年9月、オンライン・プラットフォームの著作権物の配信による収益の公正な分配を図るため、新聞等の発行者に対して、著作隣接権を付与する等の指令案を提案した。これにより、新聞社等の立場を改善することを意図するものであるが、オンライン・プラットフォームが新聞社等のウェブサイトのアクセスの重要な窓口になっている状況を勘案すれば、新聞社等は囚人のジレンマの状態となり、現状と大きく変更しない可能性がある。

ビニール傘に仕掛けを施すことによって、盗難を防ぐことができるのかを実証した。施した仕掛けは、名前シールを貼る、アニメキャラのシールを貼るなどの簡便なものである。これらの傘を大学構内の傘立てに置き、約3ヶ月にわたって実験を行った。

Severe pulmonary thromboembolism (PE) during pregnancy occurred in 2 young patients. One patient died from PE recurrence without placement of an inferior vena cava (IVC) filter, but the other survived with emergent filter placement before cesarean section. A 31-year-old woman presented with sudden dyspnea at 34 weeks of pregnancy. On examination, she was cyanotic and echocardiography revealed marked right heart dilatation and pulmonary hypertension. An emergent cesarean section was performed, but soon after the delivery, she fell into circulatory arrest. PE recurrence was suggested as cause, and t-PA was administered into the pulmonary artery. She was resuscitated but she died from another PE recurrence 4 days later. A 25-year-old woman, 35 weeks pregnant was admitted because of threatened abortion. She felt sudden dyspnea 3 days after admission and was diagnosed with severe PE by echocardiography and pulmonary catheterization. A Vena-Tech IVC filter™ was inserted at the suprarenal position to prevent PE relapse. Emergent cesarean section was then carried out uneventfully. Heparin and urokinase were administered postoperatively, and her pulmonary arterial pressure decreased. She was extubated 7 days later, and is now doing well 10 months later. Once severe PE has occurred, its relapse may be lethal. The IVC filter is effective in preventing recurrence. Even if the patient is young, emergent IVC filter placement to avoid fatal PE relapse is essential.

In this paper, we propose a new effective method for improving waveforms of output voltages in a double connected voltage source inverter. This method is based on applying two different input DC voltages which change to two levels periodically and differ each other from half cycle in phase, as DC power supplies into the inverter apparatus. The operations of two 6-phase bridge inverter circuits and the configurations of two output transformers, connected delta-delta and delta-star, are exactly the same as the conventional 12-step inverter.First is this paper, the principle of the proposed method is described, and the optimum input voltage waveforms are decided theoretically by minimizing the total harmonic distortion factor of the output voltages in this inverter apparatus. Then we suggest that the calculated input voltages with two levels can be realized by dividing those into two DC voltage supplies whose voltage ratio is 2:1 and adding four bi-directional switching elements. Also, the capacities of the DC input sources and the output transformers are calculated.As a result, we can make clear that although the construction of the proposed inverter is very simple, the output voltage waveshapes of the inverter are almost the same as those of the 24-step inverter. The experimental discussions are also given.Moreover, a voltage control method for applying it to uninterruptible power supply is discussed. In addition, it is shown that the waveforms of output voltage in the inverter apparatus are improved, similar to the conventional 36-step or 48-step inverter when the DC voltage source is divided into 3 or 4 supply parts.
