In view of safety design against fatigue failure in cylindrical storage tank of low temperature use, low cycle and low temperature fatigue behaviour of shell to annular tee-fillet welded joint in tank was investigated experimentally and analytically, in case of liquefied propane gas tank, using a displacement-controlled bend test of model specimens. The experiments and analyses were done either by strain and displacement measurements around weld toe in annular plate under cyclic deformation or by finite element analysis mainly to clarify quantitatively the effects of type of weld joint as well as dimensions of weld joint, including the effects of annular plate thickness, on the fatigue crack initiation life of tank. Principal results obtained are as follows. (1) In bend test of model specimen, a distribution of strain range in front of weld toe indicates that its maximum value is found at weld toe as far as the deformation range examined, although maximum value of strain distribution is found at 5-10mm distant from weld toe under large extent of deformation. (2) Experiments and analyses show that there is no difference practically between fillet weld joint and full penetration joint in cyclic deformation as well as in fatigue strength. (3) The expression of evaluating the fatigue crack initiation life in the displacement controlled bend test of model specimen was derived in terms of weld joint parameters, which is [numerical formula] where N_c,._p, t. SL denotes fatigue crack initiation life, weld toe radius, displacement range at the loading point, annular plate thickness, and leg length of shell plate respectively. (4) By introducing a parameter _<s-A>, an angle which defines an extent of deformation around weld toe, the fatigue crack initiation life in tank is predicted from the results on model specimen. (5) The finite element analysis shows that as to the bend test on model specimen, the increase of annular plate thickness decreases the initiation life in displacement controlled test, and increases it in load controlled test. However, the incorporation of the results on model specimen to the behaviour in deformation of the tank indicates that these two express-ions are essentially the same as far as the fatigue crack initiation in tank concerned. As of now, it seems that the thicker the annular plate becomes the longer the fatigue crack initiation life in this type of tank.

本作「きみとぼくのあいだのコト」は、2015年5月に出版した絵本『ポワン』の主人公の黒パグ「ポワン」と白パグ「フォーン」の眠る姿が描かれた絵画作品であり、鑑賞者のふるまいに相互作用するインタラクティブな作品である。 鑑賞者が近づくとその気配を感じ取った絵画上の主人公(犬)たちの反応を様々な映像アニメーションで表現することで、あたかも絵画と鑑賞者の想像力とが対話を生成していく「動く絵画」としてのアートディスプレイであり、絵本の世界観を映像インスタレーション作品として制作したものである。リアルタイムでの相互作用を可能にするセンサーとして、BLASTERX SENZ3D(3D深度&音声認識対応の3Dカメラ)を用い、表情と音声認識技術を用いた。センサーカメラを使用することで、よりリアルタイムでの絵画とのコミュニケーションと、鑑賞者と作品との関係性が近づき、目標としている「癒し」や「安らぎ」の感情を生む作品を目標にした。 本稿では2017年9月に銀座ステップスギャラリーでの個展開催にて新作発表する本作の「戌-pug-」展での本作の制作意図とともに制作方法などについて考察する。

トラピッチェ(Trapiche)とはスペイン語でサトウキビの搾り機の意味である.その歯車に似た6方向に広がる放射状結晶の呼称に用いられ,トラピッチェ・エメラルドが特に有名である.しかし近年,ミネラルショーなどで「トラピッチェ」と呼ばれる3方向に放射状模様を示す薄片状のダイヤモンドが販売されており話題を呼んでいる.ダイヤモンドは等軸晶系に,エメラルドは六方晶系に属すことが知られており,その結晶系の違いから明らかに外観や構造が異なる.これらのことからダイヤモンドがトラピッチェと呼ばれることの是非についても議論を呼ぶところである.今回はこれらの模様が見られるダイヤモンドについて拡大検査や幾つかの分析を行ったので簡略に報告する.また最近観察された珍しいダイヤモンドについても言及する.

持続可能な海洋の保全や水産資源の利用・開発には,衛星リモートセンシングや海洋GISを利用した海洋空間の利用・管理が不可欠である。本稿では,これまで開発した衛星リモートセンシングやデータ同化モデルを利用した水産海洋情報システムを概観した。アカイカやスルメイカの短期のピンポイント漁場予測システム,ホタテガイ最適育成海域モデルを紹介した。さらに,気候変動モデルによる中長期のアカイカ漁場予測を紹介した。これらの一連のシステムが持続可能な水産資源管理に貢献し,スマート水産業へ発展し,今後の方向性として,AIやIoTの利用についても言及した。漁具に設置されたIoTセンサーにより蓄積される水産ビッグデータの解析から,漁業者の勘と経験の暗黙知から形式知へとすることができ,後継者問題も解決につながることを期待したい。

It has been said that "A Lemon" is a difficult work for teaching in class, because there are some students who never have the same sensibility as author's and they cannot understand the story. But this view depends upon the author's sensibility too much. We should analyze the structure and words of the story in detail. The fist words "a mysterious and ominous soul" have an important meaning, and the whole structure of the story is related to the relevancy between those words and a daydream of a bomb in Maruzen. This point of view is significant for both comprehention of the story and teaching in class.

A switching stiffness control and a modified variable stiffness control were applied to reduce vibration in the lateral directions in active magnetic suspension system with electromagnets operated in the differential mode. The magnetic suspension system using the attractive force between magnetized bodies is inherently unstable in the normal direction so that feedback control is necessary to achieve stable suspension. In contrast, it is usually stable in the lateral directions because of the edge effects in the magnetic circuits. However, damping in the lateral directions is poor so that vibration is easily induced. In this work, a switching stiffness control was applied to attenuate such vibration. The effectiveness of the switching stiffness control was confirmed experimentally. In addition, a modified control method that varies stiffness continuously was proposed to overcome problems occurring in switching. The efficacy of the modified control method was also confirmed experimentally.

In recent years, the electrochemical water splitting using renewable energy has attracted considerable attention for the production and utilization of hydrogen gas as a fuel. However, the high overpotential for the oxygen evolution reaction increases the electrical power expense and induces degradation of the electrode materials. In order to promote the oxygen evolution reaction by lowering the overpotential and suppressing the side reactions, noble metals and their alloys or oxides have been typically employed as catalysts. Nevertheless, alternative catalysts have been sought in recent years in view of the high cost and limited resources of noble metals. In this review, the recently developed oxygen evolution reaction catalysts are presented, and the requirements for the development of such highly active catalysts have also been discussed.

Several issues concerning medicines remain unclear, including the availability of known, but not easily recognizable information. This review evaluates the mechanisms of side effects and the various risk indications included in package inserts. The results can be summarized as follows. 1) Short-term exposure to gatifloxacin significantly induced insulin secretion and increased the cytosolic Ca2+ concentration of islet cells by augmenting extracellular Ca2+ influx and its release from the endoplasmic reticulum. Alternatively, there was a decline in the cellular insulin level and reactivity to sulfonylurea after prolonged exposure. The insulin depletion was greater than that produced by other fluoroquinolones. 2) The elution of di(2-ethylhexyl)phthalate (DEHP) from the infusion set could be associated with the solubilizers in the injection medicines. The package inserts of several products containing polysorbate or ethanol had no warning about DEHP. Although there was a slight correlation between polysorbate content and descriptions on package inserts, the use of DEHP-containing devices was prohibited for some products, even with limited amounts of polysorbate. Therefore, the package insert statements should be reviewed to reflect appropriately the extent of DEHP elution. 3) Risk management plan consists of strategies to minimize the potential risks of medicines. One approach could be to introduce reminders on package inserts; however, of 268 potential risks associated with 81 products, 56 were not mentioned in package inserts. Because most postmarketing pharmacovigilance plans depend on spontaneous reporting by healthcare personnel, the descriptions on package inserts should be reexamined.
