To elucidate the effect of solution composition on the passivation of anode in Cu electrorefining, the potentiodynamic polarization curves were measured by polarizing from -0.2 V versus NHE to 1.0 V using the potential sweep method at 1.0 mV·s−1. The diffusion coefficient was measured by rotating disc electrode method under the conditions of 50, 100, 150, 200, 250 and 300 revolutions per minute of disc electrode and polarizing from 0.34 V to -0.40 V at 10.0 mV·s−1. The critical current density for passivation and the passive current density decreased linearly with total concentration of SO4 in solution regardless of solution composition and the presence of impurities such as As3+,Sb3+ and Bi3+, showing the good correlation between the current density for passivation and the total concentration of SO4. The diffusion coefficient of Cu2+ ions decreased with total concentration of SO4 in solution. The increase in passivation with the total concentration of SO4 is attributed to both decreases in solubility of CuSO4 in electrolyte and the diffusion coefficient of Cu2+ ions. On the other hand, focusing on the effect of kinds of cation on the passivation, the harmful effect on the passivation was largest with Cu2+ ions, and was larger in the order with Li+,Ni2+ and Na+ ions, and was smallest with H+ ions. The diffusion coefficient of Cu2+ ions decreased most with Ni2+ ions, and decreased secondly with Li+ and Na+, and decreased least with H+ ions. The diffusion coefficient of Cu2+ ions decreased with increasing the viscosity of solution.

A pressure wave generated by a compressor propagates in an air-conditioner piping system and causes a noise problem. The flow condition in the air-conditioner piping system becomes often a one-component two-phase flow, and attenuation of the pressure wave in the one-component two-phase flow is larger than the two-component two-phase flow because of the effect of the mass transfer. It is also important for the safety of nuclear reactors to understand the characteristic of pressure wave problems in the one-component two-phase flow. In this paper, we propose a concentrated mass model to analyze the pressure wave problems in the one-component two-phase flow. This model consists of masses, connecting springs, connecting dampers, and nonlinear base support dampers. The connecting spring and the connecting damper are derived from the compressibility of the gas phase and the effect of the mass transfer when the phase-change occurs. And the nonlinear base support damper is derived from the pipe friction. Additionally, an experiment on an air-conditioner piping system is performed, and the experimental results are compared with the numerical result in order to confirm the validity of the model. The numerical computational results agree very well with the experimental results. Especially, the attenuation of the pressure wave generated by the phase-change is numerically reproduced. Therefore, it is concluded that the proposed model is valid for the numerical analysis of the pressure wave problem in the two-phase flow.

Gyro actuator is often used for the posture control of systems which cannot be supported on a fixed ground. The gyroscopic moment makes preccesion movement of the gimbal mechanism and its effect depends on the rotating speed of the wheel. In this paper, the accurate dynamic model is derived for bicycle with twin gimbal mechanism considering ups and downs of the ground, which causes the disturbance to the bicycle. It turns out that the effect of the undulations of the ground is cancelled if the rotating speed of the wheels of the twin gimbal are exact the same. Then the stability of this model without feedback control is discussed. This model has fourth order characteristic polynomial and the characteristic roots for the first and the second modes are derived through lower order approximation. The first mode is unstable and the second mode is stable if there is a viscous friction in the gimbal rotation axis bearing. Simulation and experimental results show that the parameters should be designed so that the amplitude ratio of the gimbal pitch angle with regard to the cart roll angle for the first mode may become small to keep the posture of the bicycle for a longer time. This analysis method can be used for a simple feedback control system of the bicycle to evaluate the design parameters of the mechanism and control.

国立国語研究所における「全国方言文法の対比的研究」に関わる調査資料群のうち,調査I・調査IIIという未発表の調査資料について,調査の概要をまとめ,具体的な言語分析を行った。調査I・調査IIIは,統一的な方法で方言文法の全国調査を行うことによって,方言および標準語の文法研究に必要な基礎的資料を得ることを目的とし,1966-1973(昭和41-48)年度に地方研究員53名・所員4名によって行われ,全国94地点の整理票が現存する。具体的なデータとして原因・理由表現を取り上げ,データ分析を試みることによって資料の特徴を明らかにした。3節では,異なり語数の比較や形式の重複数から,『方言文法全国地図』が対象としなかった意味・用法を含む幅広い形式が報告された可能性があることを指摘し,意味・用法については主節の文のタイプ,推量形への接続の可否,終助詞的用法の観点から回答結果を概観した。4節では,調査時期の異なる他の調査資料との比較によって,ハンテ類の衰退とサカイ類の語形変化を指摘した。「対比的研究」の調査結果は興味深く,現代では得がたい資料である。今後,この調査報告の活用が期待される。

The aim of the present study was to address the effect of resveratrol-mediated upregulation of sirtuin 1 (SIRT1) during oocyte maturation on mitochondrial function, the developmental ability of oocytes and on mechanisms responsible for blockage of polyspermic fertilization. Oocytes collected from slaughterhouse-derived ovaries were cultured in TCM-199 medium supplemented with 10% FCS and 0 or 20 µM resveratrol (Res). We examined the effect of Res on SIRT1 expression in in vitro-matured oocytes (Exp 1); fertilization and developmental ability (Exp 2); mitochondrial DNA copy number (Mt number), ATP content and mitochondrial membrane potential in matured oocytes (Exp 3); and the time required for proteinase to dissolve the zona pellucida following in vitro fertilization (as a marker of zona pellucida hardening), as well as on the distribution of cortical granules before and after fertilization (Exp 4). In Exp 1, the 20 µM Res treatment upregulated protein expression of SIRT1 in oocytes. In Exp 2, Res treatment improved the ratio of normal fertilization and the total cell number of blastocysts. In Exp 3, Res treatment significantly increased the ATP content in matured oocytes. Additionally, Res increased the overall Mt number and mitochondrial membrane potential, but the effect was donor-dependent. In Exp 4, Res-induced zona hardening improved the distribution and exocytosis of cortical granules after in vitro fertilization. In conclusion, Res improved the quality of oocytes by improving mitochondrial quantity and quality. In addition, Res added to the maturation medium enhanced SIRT1 protein expression in oocytes and improved fertilization via reinforcement of the mechanisms responsible for blockage of polyspermic fertilization.

This paper examines the contemporary descriptions on the church of Hagios Mokios in Constantinople, which is now lost to us, in the architectural, liturgical and social aspects. In the 8th century Constantine the Great was regarded as the legendary founder of this church and the legend of the foundantion brought the martyr's cult a certain change in the religious and social position in the capital. "De Ceremoniis", the ceremonial book in the 10th century informs us a imperial ceremony in this church. Through the description of "De Ceremoniis", the church of Hagios Mokios could be one of a typical basilica.

筆者らの先行研究において,あるタスクに従事しているユーザに対して,エージェントがしりとりにと誘った場合,そのエージェントがCGの場合よりもロボットであった場合の方が,しりとりに応じる割合が有意に高いことが明らかになった.そこで本研究では,エージェントがCGであった場合でもユーザがしりとりに応じる要因として,ロボットとのインタラクション経験およびキャラクタ設定の有無に注目し,その影響を考察した.

大学生の授業外学習時間の少なさが問題として挙がる中で,e ラーニングは学生の自学自習の時間確保を担う手段でもある。本稿では,初年次教育の一環として,e ラーニングによる英語学習を一年間経験した学生を対象に,学習者の学習環境や学習計画性,そして教員の働きかけに関する質問紙調査を行なった。アンケートの結果を踏まえた上で,自律的に学ぶことができる学生を育てるe ラーニングの可能性について考察する。
