Growth responses to three different media, temperatures, and sodium chloride concentrations in the media were determined for 13 salmonid and 14 non-salmonid fish cell lines. Most cell lines showed better growth in Eagle's MEM than in Medium 199 or in Leivobitz L-15 medium. Nine salmonid cell lines grew well in the normal sodium bicarbonate buffer in Eagle's MEM, while 11 non-salmonid cell lines grew better in Eagle's MEM buffered with either HEPES-bicarbonate or Tris-bicarbonate. Optimum temperature for growth ranged from 15 to 20℃ for almost all salmonid cells and 20 to 30℃ for non-salmonid cells. Most of the cell lines showed highest growth in commercial medium preparations with the lowest concentrration of sodium chloride (0.116M) examined. However, three of the six cell lines derived from rainbow trout, Oncorhynchus mykiss, and cell lines from eels, Anguilla japonica, showed optimum growth response at a higher sodium chloride concentration of 0.171M in the medium.

近年,日本国内においてスズメ Passer montanus の個体数が減少していると言われている.その原因はわかっていないが,熊本で行なわれた先行研究では,都市部では農村部とくらべて1つがいが連れている巣立ち後のヒナ数が少なく,都市化にともなう何らかの要因がスズメの減少をもたらしている可能が示唆されている.しかし,この研究は狭い地域で行なわれたものであり,それが本当に日本全体でも起きているかはわからない.そこで2010年にこの研究と同じく,巣立ち後のヒナ数を調べる調査を「子雀ウォッチ」と銘打ち,一般市民に協力してもらう形で全国規模で行なった.その結果,全国から406の記録が集まり,それを解析したところ,巣立ち後の平均ヒナ数は,商業地で1.41羽,住宅地で1.81羽,農村では,2.13羽と,商業地,住宅地,農村の順で多くなった.この結果は前述の先行研究の結果と整合性があり,やはり都市化と関連している何らかの要因が全国規模でスズメの減少要因になっていると考えられる.この子雀ウォッチを今後もつづけ,記録を蓄積することで,スズメの減少要因の解明につながると期待できる.

Erysipelothrix rhusiopathiae is pathogenic for humans, many domestic animals and wild birds, but infectious cases with clinical symptoms in cats have not been reported. E. rhusiopathiae was recovered from a 4-month Russian blue breed cat with a very poor body condition score of 1 (BCS: 1/5). The isolate was typed as serotype 2b. Mice experimentally infected with the clinical isolate of E. rhusiopathiae through subcutaneous or intraperitoneal routes survived, and the organism was recovered from the spleen and synovial and pericardial fluids. Cats experimentally inoculated with the isolate either orally or subcutaneously survived but commonly exhibited depression and emaciation together with localized erythemal lesion of the skin accompanied by purulent ocular discharge. On hematological analysis, the number of total white blood cells was high compared with that in normal cats. Histological examination revealed congestion and moderate inflammation with focal necrosis. This observation may provide insight on E. rhusiopathiae infection in cats with the possible epidemiological significance and implications as a potential source of infection to other animals and humans.

The purpose of this paper is to examine a theory and characteristics of Justice in Urban America Series, which was developed in 1970's by Robert Ratcliffe with Law in American Society Foundation as a material for law-related education of social studies in junior high school, and to grasp the possibilities of social studies curriculum focusing on law. The material is a part of the comprehensive law-related education curriculum that covers from mid- elementary to late-secondary, and is composed with an another series which is called "Trail marks of liberty series" based on the historical survey of the development of legal system in the U.S.A. I. The theory of curriculum organization is described as follows: 1) The curriculum, which is named Justice in Urban America Series, is organized as a series of legal study that is covered various fields of social problems in urban America. 2) Legal study in each unit is constructed not only with the analysis of the legal process dealing with social problems, but with inquiring the causes of problems. 3) Analyzing the legal process that is focused on "the planning of the legislature," "the enforcement by the administrative organs," and "the assessment by the administration of justice" can be realized for students to grasp the functional relations in the public system of problem solving. 4) Analyzing the judgments of legal cases in each lesson, which are issued the justification of planning or enforcement by the government with laws, also can be realized for students to form their own criteria on the public issues concretely based on the constitutionalism as a flame of reference. 5) Therefore, Justice in Urban America Series can be defined as "Social Studies curriculum based on Law" that ensures students to recognize the legal process in the constitutional democracy objectively. II. The characteristics of curriculum organization are described as follows: 1) Because Justice in Urban America Series ensures students to have a dynamic and structured viewpoint on the systematic way of problem solving in our society through the law, it can be evaluated as an alternative organizing theory against with the law-related education which is based on the positive law or general ideas of law teaching laws as themselves. 2) Though the series has no chance for students to evaluate the values of American democracy comparing with other countries critically, it can be evaluated as an eminent proposal of curriculum theory to develop student's ability of discernment on public concern in the flame of law and constitutionalism.

Dieser Artikel ist eine uberarbeitete Version meines Vortrags beim Kolloquium an der Universitat Luxemburg im Oktober 2011,bei dem die Problematik der Luxemburgistik von Forschern aus Luxemburg und Japan kritisch erortert wurde sowie die Ziele und die Bedeutungen der Luxemburgistik in Japan diskutiert wurden. Fur die Publikation in Japan habe ich außerdem einige allgemeine Informationen und verschiedene Aspekte der Luxemburgistik hinzugefu gt.Im 1. Kapitel wird die Geschichte des Großherzogtums Luxemburg seit dem Mittelalter in Bezug auf dessen linguistische Situation kurz dargestellt,damit man eine Vogelperspektive auf die luxemburgische Gesellschaft sowie deren heutige hybride und mehrsprachige Situation haben kann. Im 2.Kapitel wird die Thematik der Luxemburgistik unter zwei Gesichtspunkten behandelt:Erstens die Mehrsprachigkeit der luxemburgischen Gesellschaft und zweitens die Entwicklung des Luxemburgischen als einer Ausbausprache,die durch das Sprachgesetz von 1984 aus dem deutschen Dialekt Westmoselfrankisch zur Nationalsprache des Großherzogtums geworden ist. Zum Schluss wird im 3.Kapitel die Luxemburgistik als INTER-kulturelle Forschung in Japan der INTRA-kulturellen Forschung in Luxemburg gegenubergestellt. Damit sollen ihre Moglichkeiten in zwei Richtungen, intern fur Japan und extern fur Luxemburg,entwickelt werden.
