In this study, we present dual-beam Doppler optical coherence angiography with variable beam separation. Altering beam distance, independently of the scanning protocol, provides a flexible way to select the velocity range of detectable blood flow. This system utilized a one-micrometer wavelength light source to visualize deep into the posterior eye, i.e., the choroid. Two-dimensional choroidal vasculature maps of a human subject acquired with different beam separations, and hence with several velocity ranges, are presented. Combining these maps yields a semi-quantitative visualization of axial velocity of the choroidal circulation. The proposed technique may be useful for identifying choroidal abnormalities that occur in pathological conditions of the eye.

A high-penetration swept-source optical coherence tomography (HP-SS-OCT) system based on a 1-μm short cavity laser is developed. Doppler OCT processing is applied, along with a custom-made numerical phase stabilization algorithm; this process does not require additional calibration hardware. Thus, our phase stabilization method is simple and can be employed in a variety of SS-OCT systems. The bidirectional blood flow and vasculature in the deep choroid was successfully imaged via two Doppler modes that use different time intervals for Doppler processing. En face projection image of squared power of Doppler shift is compared to ICGA, and the utility of our method is verified.

Dual-beam-scan Doppler optical coherence angiography (DB-OCA) enables high-speed, high-sensitivity blood flow imaging. However, birefringence of biological tissues is an obstacle to vasculature imaging. Here, the influence of polarization and birefringence on DB-OCA imaging was analyzed. A DB-OCA system without birefringence artifact has been developed by introducing a Faraday rotator. The performance was confirmed in vitro using chicken muscle and in vivo using the human eye. Birefringence artifacts due to birefringent tissues were suppressed. Micro-vasculatures in the lamina cribrosa and nerve fiber layer of human eyes were visualized in vivo. High-speed and high-sensitivity micro-vasculature imaging involving birefringent tissues is available with polarization multiplexing DB-OCA.

周知のように,従来の音声情報処理においては「音声の生成過程では,韻律的特徴と分節的特徴は独立して制御される」との仮定の下でその処理体系が構築されてきた。しかし昨今の研究例に目を向けると,音声医学,音声科学,音声工学の分野において,F_0とスペクトルの依存性を仮定した方法論の有効性が報告されている。音声の分析に焦点を絞った場合,F_0とスペクトルの依存性は,フォルマント周波数をベースとした分析例が多い。しかし,音声工学の立場からは,フォルマント周波数によるスペクトル記述は必ずしも得策とは言えない。筆者らの一部は,既に日本語音声を対象としてF_0変化に起因するケプストラム係数変動を定量的に分析し,そのモデル化を行っている。本研究では,この分析方式をまず有声子音音声に拡張する。更に,無声子音についても前後の有声区間から求まる補間F_0との依存関係について分析する。その結果,有声子音においても母音同様のF_0依存性が観測された他,無声子音の一部においては,有声子音と同等のF_0依存性が観測された。本研究ではこれらの分析に基づいてケプストラム係数の変動予測モデルの構築を試み,更に,予測モデルの工学的利用について予備検討を行なったので報告する。

Les milieux philosophiques francais pendant le dernier quart du XIX^e siecle ont ete marques par l'integration officielle de la psychologie experimentale dans le systeme de l'enseignement superieur. La psychologie experimentale, critique envers la confusion propre a la psychologie spiritualiste entre les faits psychologiques et la speculation ontologique, reclamait son independance a l'egard de la philosophie. Alain (Emile Chartier), qui a recu une formation de la philosophie a l'Ecole Normale Superieure a la fin du siecle, ne devait pas etre indifferent a ce debat. Ses premiers ecrits sur la theorie de la perception peuvent etre consideres comme une reponse a la question du droit de la metaphysique sur la psychologie experimentale. L'examen du rapport entre la pensee d'Alain et celle de Lachelier revele que l'influence philosophique de l'auteur de Psychologie et Metaphysique sur le jeune philosophe ne se confirme pas sous la forme d'un simple heritage kantien. La reinterpretation du spiritualisme par Lachelier, se referant a l'esthetique transcendantale, peut etre consideree dans la filiation de la critique spiritualiste de la psychologie empirique deja entamee par Jouffroy. Mais la remise en cause des limites de la psychologie n'est plus alors effectuee au nom de la psychologie. Pour Lachelier, c'est la metaphysique distincte de la psychologie qui est la veritable science de la pensee. Alain s'accorde avec Lachelier sur des points essentiels comme la distinction dualiste des sciences de l'homme et le primat de la metaphysique. Il montre pourtant le lien direct entre l'observation du soi et la speculation sur l'Univers.

本稿ではインターネット広告の定義を明らかにし,インターネット広告の分類を(1)パソコンかモバイルか,(2)プッシュ型かプル型かという視点から整理した。さらに,インターネット広告の媒体特性については,プッシュ型の広告は詳細なターゲティングが可能であり,プル型でもWeb広告からホームページに誘導することによって詳細な情報を掲載できるという長所を持つが,インターネット媒体の信頼性は低いと考えている。また,他の広告媒体との関係は,テレビCMとは視聴時間に競合関係があり,新聞・雑誌広告とは情報の信頼性や専門性において補完関係にあるのではないかと結論づけた。

光干渉断層計(OCT)は,さまざまな眼底疾患の病態の理解を促進した.OCTは,また,網膜厚や網膜神経線維厚を計測することができ,早期緑内障診断,疾患進行のモニター,治療効果の評価に有用である.最近,フーリエドメイン(スペクトラルドメインまたはフリークエンシードメインともいう)検出により撮影速度および撮影感度が,著しく改善した.撮影速度は,標準のタイムドメインOCT(TD-OCT)に比べ40~100倍速い.スペクトラルドメインOCT(SD-OCT)は,網膜病変の3次元解析を可能にする.すなわち,網膜硝子体界面の3次元可視化や網膜内部構造の包括的観察が可能になる.SD-OCTは,網膜神経線維層,網膜内層,または視細胞外節などの網膜層構造をセグメンテーションすることを可能とし,その肥厚や菲薄化をモニターできる.SD-OCTは,ドルーゼン,網膜色素上皮剥離,漿液性網膜剥離のセグメンテーションを可能とし,疾患の進行や治療効果の評価をTD-OCTより精密に行うことが可能となる.SD-OCTは,3次元画像を,眼科診療で使用する眼底カメラや蛍光眼底造影のイメージとレジストレーションすることが可能になる.このように,SD-OCTは,眼底疾患や緑内障の診断における光干渉断層計の潜在力を著しく高めるであろう.

我々は, 健康な成人を対象に, 持久的運動負荷を加えることによって, ミトコンドリアDNA(mtDNA)に4977-bpの欠失(common deletion)が発現し, 数日後にその欠失が消失することを見いだした。その一連の実験の際, 2名の被験者において, common deletionの欠失配列とは異なる長さの配列が検出された。そこで, 本研究では, この塩基配列の構造について詳細な分析を試みた。まず, シークエンス分析を行い. mtDNA様配列の塩基配列を決定したところ, 2名の被験者においてこの塩基配列は全く同一であった。さらに詳細に検討を行ったところ, この塩基配列はmtDNAの塩基配列とかなり一致していることが明らかになった(類似度:88%)。また, これらの塩基配列をもとにアミノ酸配列を予測し, 読み枠(ORF)解析によりその詳細な構造を探った。これらの結果から, このmtDNA様配列は, 生物の進化の過程でmtDNAの遺伝子が核DNAに挿入されたもので, その変異が現在まで引き続いて核DNA中に組み込まれている可能性が示唆された。

Going against chemical tradition, Becher using a cosmological-geological approach focussed his attention on mineral bodies and fixed peculiar Principles that were water and three Earths. It is not certain that his new Principles had any important historical values. But his hierarchical structure of matter that consisted of Principles, composite and decomposita, and his chemical mixture theory that mixture of bodies of lower order formed new bodies of higher order were his original ideas and not realized by other iatro-chemists of those days. These two ideas were to some extent imaginary and not clearly demonstrated. Nevertheless, it is important that he found two levels of composita and decomposita among matters that were actually handled by human's hands. Of course chemists had often made plural matter interact mutually to obtain new bodies. But until then it was generally believed that real existing bodies were produced by a mixture of imagined Principles and were reduced again into original Principles. The above mentioned assumptions of Becher managed to combine the chemical activities of handling actual bodies with the consideration of chemists about how matter changed and by doing so, prepared the basic conditions for understanding real matter phenomena without imaginary suppositions. Up to now. historians of chemistry have only Daid attention to Becher's 'terra pinguis' in relation to the phlogiston theory of Stahl. However, Becher's idea of the hierarchical structure of matter and his mixture theory may have contributed to the modernizing of chemistry. Therefore, they would contribute to the development of chemistry in the following age. We will discuss this point when the chemistry of Stahl is examined.
