1、The purpose of this study is to clarify how "The School Dance" has evolved from its beginning to present-day high schools. The "Square Dance" was introduced to women's high schools in the Meiji Era. "Faust," which was introduced by Akuri Inokuchi from America at the end of the Meiji Era, and "Tokura Dance," which was instructed in high schools from 1940s to 1950s, derived from "The School Dance"2、Materials for this research were gathered by means of inquiry. In addition programs of high school sports days in 2010 were gathered. Some school's home pages were also examined.Subjects for this research were interviewed on sports days in 2010 and 2011.3、Our research revealed four main points.1) The dance instructors were gymnastics teachers who had used their gymnastics classes to teach “The School Dance."2) “The School Dance" taken up by the schools we investigated were ‘Quadrile,’ ‘Faust,’ ‘Minori,’ 'Tagoto no Tsuki,’‘Hanabatake no Ashita,’ and so on.3) “The School Dance" was practiced in high schools for many years. One reason for this was tradition. Traditional dances continued to be proudly practiced and performed for long time in high schools. Another reason was a yearning from the graduating class, which hoped that “The School Dance" would be performed as a memorial to their last school year. The pupils looked forward to participating in "The School Dance" on sports day.4) “The School Dance" was ideal for teaching basic dance techniques and contained various expressions. Many pupils were able to communicate with each other through the synchronized movements and enjoy the sense of harmony it brought them.Traditional dances in high schools were something with which each school could be identified. Furthermore “The School Dance" connected one generation of pupils to the next. These factors make up the educational significance of “The School Dance" in present-day high schools.

Hokkaido faces challenges to the effective implementation of its healthcare infrastructure because of demographic factors such as negative population growth and an aging population, and economic factors, including financial difficulties faced by local governments. Regional healthcare networks have been built to overcome these problems and streamline healthcare delivery. However, the number of registered patients is only 1% of the total population. This study investigated the factors that cause the stagnation of the number of registered patients in the regional healthcare networks in Hokkaido. Our survey identified 46 networks in 21 medical regions. The average ratio of registered patients in Hokkaido was 4.1%, regional healthcare networks in the Sapporo area were dysfunctional. We estimated the factors influencing the ratio. The ratio of networked medical institutions in the region and the dummy variable for their business size were statistically significant for Hokkaido and for the secondary medical areas, excluding the Sapporo medical area. It follows that the number of registered patients in a network could be determined by the ratio of connected medical institutions and the size of their business. The problems could be overcome by exploiting the economy of scale in the networks. Establishing a prefecture-wide network would increase the number of registered patients and lower the overall cost of the networks.

London, British Library, MS Harley 913, dated to around 1330, contains Lollai, a poem of six stanzas, thought to be the earliest lullaby in English. Although the Latin version of this work is found on a different folio of the same manuscript, it consists of only two stanzas which correspond to the first two in the English. This paper discusses the relationship between the two versions, investigating which was the original, and attempts to explain why the Latin version has no more than two stanzas.
