State space reconstruction using time-delay coordinate systems is the most effective and significant technique for analyzing complex time series generated by nonlinear dynamical systems. In this study, we investigated the relationships between reconstruction parameters and the similarity of the structural properties of original and reconstructed attractors. In particular, we investigated the similarities between inter-point distance distributions on original and reconstructed attractors, while varying the reconstruction parameters for reconstructing a dynamical system using a time-delay coordinate system. The results show that the product of the reconstruction dimension and the time-delay should be constant to obtain high similarity.

平成14 年11 月,神奈川県横浜市において屋外タンク貯蔵所の受入れ作業時に,当該タンクの爆発火災事故が発生した.所轄の消防局では,この火災に対して,精力的に火災原因調査を行い,火災の想定シナリオを早期に策定した.消防研究所においては,所轄の消防局の依頼を受けて,本件の屋外タンク貯蔵所の爆発火災事故について調査検討を行った. 調査検討の結果,当該爆発火災事故については,シール材の劣化や受入れ時の気泡の流入など種々の条件が重なり発生したものと推定される.

This paper aims to elucidate some ethical and social issues raised by designing life and to examine them in connection with eugenics. Advanced medical technology has made possible some methods of designing life, such as sperm/egg or embryo selection, germline genetic modification and the production of life by cloning. The subject of our investigation is germline genetic modification or manipulation, especially the enhancement of capabilities or traits of children at the request of their prospective parents. "The voluntary choice of the individual" is both a main argument justifying that form of intervention and also a strong ground for supporting the "new eugenics," which is distinguished from old, state-sponsored eugenics. On the one hand, new eugenics is a body of thought and practices based on the premise that the choice of a "desirable quality" is part of the reproductive freedom of an individual as a consumer or client. This type of new eugenics is closely related to the way of redesigning society sought by Neoliberalism, which values the self-determination of the individual, the free-market and deregulation. On the other hand, new eugenics is an attempt at improving the gene pool of future generations by remodelling human beings, and it advocates a new evolution of humankind. In some arguments presented by new eugenics to justify germline genetic enhancement, serious ethical and social problems are found, namely a distortion of the way of relating to others, discrimination against disabled people, harmful effects on children etc. So we should severely scrutinize the connection between that form of technology and new eugenics.

欧米では既に多くの岩盤内高圧ガス貯蔵の実績があるが, わが国では鉱業におけるわずかの例を除きほとんどない. 本論文では, 文献に顕われる海外の岩盤内高圧ガス貯蔵の実績を紹介するとともに, 漏気防止工の概念を整理し, 若干の考察を行った. さらに, 神岡鉱山におけるエアレシーバの漏気防止工を紹介し, わが国においても地質条件等を十分に吟味することで, 高圧ガス貯蔵が可能であることを示す.

Biohybrid robots composed of synthetic skeletons and living components have recently gained interests as a solution to engineering biological dynamic systems. Among the living components, muscle tissues are used as actuators for biohybrid robots, resulting in vitro reproduction of various movements. Especially, swimming robots containing living muscle tissues or cardiomyocytes have been proposed as representative examples of biohybrid robots. However, these robots have limitations on reproducibility and controllability due to individual differences between each explanted living muscle tissues and the self-contraction of cardiomyocytes, respectively. To solve the issue, a swimming robot with cultured skeletal muscle tissue is required since it allows to control the shape and contraction of the cultured tissue. In this paper, we propose the construction method of a swimming robot with cultured skeletal muscle tissue. Our method can prevent spontaneous shrinkage before transferring the tissue from an appropriate culture substrate for tissue formation to the swimming robot. Using the method, we succeeded in the preparation of a swimming robot with three different robot skeleton and skeletal muscle tissues cultured under the same condition, regardless of the spontaneous shrinkage during culture. As a result, we obtained the relationship between shapes of robot skeletons and propulsion of the robot and confirmed that the robot can move forward by shaking a tail fin. We believe that the method for integrating skeletal muscle tissues with the synthetic skeleton will be useful for the easy preparation of biohybrid robots and devices.

Focusing on the drawing sound as auditory feedback in the act of writing with an ordinary paper and pen, we have studied the effect of emphasized drawing sound. In this paper, we explain availability of emphasized auditory feedback of drawing sound in professional animation studio. In specific, we introduced our proposed system to animation producing process and performed a user study for 6 weeks to confirm its availability. The results from user study showed that animators used our proposed system at a rate of 93.0% during their total day and average of 5 hours a day. Moreover, we obtained the positive feedback in the interview such that they can draw dark and uniformly-thick line in quality by listening to drawing sound.

尾瀬のコウモリ相を把握するため,2017~2019年の6~10月に,森林での捕獲調査とねぐら探索調査を行った.その結果,2科8属11種132個体が確認され,コキクガシラコウモリ,モリアブラコウモリ,ノレンコウモリが尾瀬で新たに確認された.過去の記録とあわせて,尾瀬で確認されたコウモリ類は2科9属14種になった.森林での捕獲調査で,捕獲地点数・個体数ともに最も多い種はヒメホオヒゲコウモリだった.尾瀬のヒメホオヒゲコウモリの遺伝的特徴を明らかにするため,分子生物学的な分析を行った.遺伝子多様度は0.82583,塩基多様度は0.00219だった.他地域の個体を含めたハプロタイプネットワークでは,複数のグループに分かれなかった.
