Lee combines the sale price accounting and the cash flow accounting when he constructs accounting theory, and calls the accounting system as cash flow reporting system. In accordance with this thought, he proposes the following financial statements: cash flow statement (statement of realized cash flow) , income statement (statement of realizable earnings) , balance sheet (statement of financial position) and statement of changes in financial position. After examining these financial statements in detail, I concluded that his cash flow statement lacks in the idea of classification of business activities and that his income statement and balance sheet can not correctly recognize the concepts of profitability and financial position. But these are not real faults. Lee's great contribution to the accounting theory is to combine the sale price accounting and the cash flow accounting, and explain the accounting theory by the cash concept in the broad sense of the term. We have to start with this point in order to construct the general accounting logic in the future.

Background: Fifteen 3-styrylchromones were subjected to quantitative structure?activity relationship (QSAR) analysis based on their cytotoxicity, tumor selectivity and anti-HIV activity, in order to explore their biological activities. Materials and Methods: Cytotoxicity against four human oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) cell lines and three human oral normal cells was determined by the 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide (MTT) method. Tumor-selectivity was evaluated by the ratio of the mean CC50 (50% cytotoxic concentration) against normal human oral cells to that against OSCC cell lines. Anti-HIV activity was evaluated by the ratio of CC50 to EC50 (50% cytoprotective concentration from HIV infection). Physicochemical, structural and quantum-chemical parameters were calculated based on the conformations optimized by the LowModeMD method followed by the density functional theory (DFT) method. Results: All 3-styrylchromone derivatives showed moderate-to-high tumor selectivity. Especially, compounds that have a methoxy group at 6-position of the chromone ring and hydroxyl group at 4'-position of phenyl group in styryl moiety [11] showed the highest tumor-selectivity. On the other hand, their cytotoxicity against normal cells showed good correlation to the descriptors that reflect hydrophobic interaction and molecular shapes. Conclusion: Multivariate statistics with chemical descriptors for the location of substituted group, molecular shape and electrostatic interaction may be useful for designing the most favorable compound with higher tumor selectivity.

積雪寒冷地の空港では, 冬期間, 滑走路の路面状態が雪氷等によるすべり摩擦係数の低下より, 航空機が着陸できない状況が発生し, 利用者の利便性を低下させている. 滑走路のすべり摩擦抵抗の改善を目的に, 舗装表面が粗面である機能性SMAに着目し, 滑走路用の表層用混合物としての適用性について室内試験や試験施工を行い検討した. 室内試験, および試験施工の結果, 機能性SMAは, 路面状態がスラッシュやブラックアイス時にすべり摩擦係数の改善効果が見られた. また, 積雪寒冷地特有の凍結融解や耐久性等を評価する室内試験においても空港用の標準表層混合物である密粒度アスコン (20F) と比較し, 同等以上の性能を有し, 空港舗装における冬期路面対策の一手法として, 効果があることが確認された.

6 cases of lingua nigra in lepromatous patients were observed since March, 1954. 4 of them were male and the rest female, the age ranging from 24-52.<br>In every case, the dorsal surface of the tongue was black or dark gray, suggesting of the wet rat skin. The patients tasted astringent, but severe pain was not complained. The upper half area of papillae filiformes was found minutely keratinized. The lesion spread from the anterior part of papillae circumvallatae to the whole dorsal surface of the tongue, and was smaller nearer to the lip and disappeared, leaving intact one or two thirds of the tongue tip area. No pain was complained when this hairy body was pulled by a pincette, but the loss of taste sense was recognized.<br>Blood, urine and bacterial examinations and syphilitic reactions revealed no distinct findings. Treatments of rinsing with 2% boracic acid, 0.2% acriflavin solution, application of caustic silver and curettage produced favorable effects upon all cases from 1 to 4 weeks.<br>This lingua nigra appeared after extraction of teeth or after treatment of the teeth duct of the lower jaw.<br>We will try to carry out clinical experiments and investigate the mechanisms.

In the early 19th century, Westerners such as William Chambers, George Macartney,and Thomas De Quincey encountered the Orient with feelings of surprise, interest, difference,and displeasure. Edward W. Said mentions in Orientalism (1978) that the Orient is the image ofthe other that repeatedly appears in the depth of the mind of the West (1). "Kubla Khan"displays a polarity of images conveying Coleridge's ambiguous feelings toward the Orient.Coleridge uses his theory of polarity in his representations of the Orient. This theory statesthat the oppositions between polar extremes compete with each other, thereby maintaining abalance. This paper argues that representations of the Orient that include opposite images aremostly balanced with precarious elements. These precarious elements express the true natureof Coleridge's ambiguous feelings for the Orient.This paper divides" Kubla Khan" into five parts: the river Alph (lines 1–11 and 25–30),chasm (lines 12–24), pleasure dome (lines 31–36), Abyssinian maid (lines 37–47), and society (lines48–54). It considers how each aspect of the Orient depicted therein exemplifies theprecariousness included in Coleridge's theory of polarity. The Orient was an imaginary worldfor Coleridge, who had not seen it and had only read books or heard talks about it. Thus, it is anon-existential thing or an unknown world that is not easily accepted but cannot be ignoredand evokes various feelings. Therefore, the balance of ambiguous feelings for the OrientinColeridge's mind cannot avoid instability and lacks permanence.

Cet article a pour but d'analyser Le Coffret de Santal de Charles Cros et de tenter d'en abstraire le projet poetique. L'art poetique de ce premier recueil reside notamment dans une structure claire que Ton pourrait identifier par deux mouvements opposes : la manifestation d'un pouvoir tout a la fois createur et destructeur, qui inspire la creativite du poete en devoilant des visions sublimes, et qui pourtant les eloigne rapidement. Dans la poesie de Cros, c'est la figure de la femme qui represente ce mouvement double. Or, comme on le voit dans un des poemes en prose, <<Distrayeuse>>, cette femme destructrice n'enleve pas tout espoir au poete. Ses poemes portent, non pas sur les visions elles-memes, ineffables, mais sur les traces que laissent leurs cendres. De ces dernieres emane la creation par la poesie d'un univers fantastique. Plus exactement, comme le montrent les vers ajoutes a la deuxieme edition du recueil, Cros cherche a decrire la figure d'un poete concentre sur les reflets de ses visions afin d'eprouver un petit dereglement des sens ordinaires. Evidemment, cette voie d'acces a l'imaginaire disparait rapidement, cependant c'est justement ce caractere ephemere qui pousse le poete a recommencer son projet, presque a l'infini. Le Coffret de Santal comporte en lui-meme les descriptions de son propre but, de la strategie pour realiser ce projet, et finalement de son echec. C'est tout a fait en ce sens que Cros pratique une poesie sur la poesie. Et l'on pourrait dire qu'un tel projet meta-poetique se rapporte precisement au grand bouleversement de la Litterature suscite par les avant-gardes du XIX siecle. Pourtant cet article proposera egalement une approche originale en montrant la ressemblance entre l'attitude observee dans Le Coffret de Santal et celle que Cros a elaboree dans ses travaux scientifiques. Ce rapprochement permettra une vision plus complete de ce prodige qui fut a la fois poete et inventeur.
