注射用セフェム系抗菌薬cefozopran (CZOP) の下気道感染症に対する早期治療効果を評価するため, ceftazidime (CAZ) を対照薬とした比較試験を市販後臨床試験として実施した。CZOPとCAZはともに1回1g (力価), 1日2回点滴静注により7日間投与し, 以下の結果を得た。<BR>1. 総登録症例412例中最大の解析対象集団376例の臨床効果は, 判定不能3例を除くとCZOP群92.0%(173/188), CAZ群91.4%(169/185) の有効率で, 両側90%, 95%信頼区間ともに非劣性であることが検証された。細菌性肺炎と慢性気道感染症に層別した有効率は, それぞれCZOP群90.9%(120/132), 94.6%(53/56), CAZ群93.3%(126/135), 86.0%(43/50) で, 両側90%, 95%信頼区間ともに非劣性であることが検証された。<BR>2. 原因菌が判明し, その消長を追跡し得た210例での細菌学的効果は, CZOP群89.5%(94/105), CAZ群90.5%(95/105) の菌消失率 (菌消失+菌交代) で, 両群間に有意な差はみられなかった。個々の菌別の菌消失率は, CZOP群91.1%(113/124), CAZ群90.8%(108/119) で両群問に有意な差はみられなかったが, 最も高頻度に分離された<I>Streptococcus pneumoniae</I>の消失率はCZOP群100%(42/42), CAZ群89.5%(34/38) で, CZOP群がCAZ群に比し有意に優れ (P=0.047), 投与5日後においてもCZOP群がCAZ群に比し有意に高い菌消失寧を示した (P=0.049)。<BR>3. 投薬終了時に, CZOP群では52,4%(99/189), CAZ群では50.3% (94/187) の症例において治療日的が達成され, 抗菌薬の追加投与は不必要であった。治療Il的遠成度に関して両薬剤間に有意な差は認められなかった。<BR>4. 随伴症状の発現率はCZOP群3.9%(8/206), CAZ群5.0%(10/202) で両棊剤間に有意な差はなかった。臨床検査値異常変動として, CAZ群に好酸球増多がCZOP絆より多数認められたが, 臨床検査値異常出現率としては, CZOP群31.6% (65/206), CAZ群32.2% (65/202) で, 両群間に有意な差は認められなかった。<BR>以上の成績から, CZOPは臨床効果においてCAZと比較して非劣性であることが検祉された。また<I>S. pneumoniae</I>による下気道感染症に対するCZOPの早期治療効果が確認された。

Physical fitness of elementary school children has reportedly decreased over the past few years, physical fitness of present-day children who exercise regularly may not necessarily be inferior to that of the children in the past. This study aimed to examine the secular trend and sex differences in physique, muscular strength, and flexibility in 9–10-year-old children who took part in swimming practice and training at a swimming sport club. The participants were divided into the past group (1996–1998) comprising 601 persons (boy: n = 251, girl: n = 350) and the modern group (2010–2012) comprising 456 persons (boy: n = 201, girl: n = 255). In conclusion, the physique of elementary school children regularly attending the swimming sport club did not show marked time period and sex differences. Muscular strength was superior in the present-day children and ankle mobility was superior in the past children. In addition, marked sex differences in muscle strength and flexibility, except for trunk flexion, were not found in both periods.

According to a recent report, the blood donation population has declined in Japan. We examined the measures required to improve blood donation participation among university students in Japan. The study subjects were classified into three groups based on their frequency of blood donation: "frequently," "no donation in the past year," and "unexperienced." Each group was subjected to different sets of interview questions, and the answers were analyzed using Cochran's Q test. The "frequent" blood donors tended to believe that "my blood is helpful for somebody." Conversely, the other two groups tended not to donate blood owing to busyness reasons. We identified that the number of blood donors can be increased by reducing the waiting time. In addition to this, increasing the number of bloodmobiles may be effective.

<p> カヌースプリント競技にはカヤックとカナディアン種目があり、湖や流れのない川(兵水面)で200m、500m、1000mといった一定の直線距離を最大スピードで進む際の着順を競い合う。中でも200m競技では大きな力でパドルの両サイドにあるブレードで水をキャッチし、35秒程度の時間で漕ぎ切る必要があるため、後半疲労で失速しないよう、レースペースは極めて重要となる。本研究では、トップレベルの日本人男子カヤック選手を対象に、200mのレース展開の特徴を検討した。2015カヌースプリント海外派遣選手最終記録会の200m男子カヤック決勝進出者9名を対象とした。決勝レースを3台のビデオカメラで撮影し、前半局面(0-100m通過タイム)と後半局面(100-200m通過タイム)の比較より、各選手のレースペースの比較を実施した。日本代表に選出された優勝選手と2位の選手の前半局面と後半局面のタイム差は0.1秒以下であり、イーブンペースであったが、3位、4位の選手はそれぞれ0.9秒、0.5秒以上の差があり、後半局面でペースを落としていた。5位~9位の選手のうち3名は、前半局面より後半局面の方がタイムが早く、残り2名の選手はほぼイーブンペースであった。</p>

In this eassy my chief interest lies in discussing some of the personal characteristics connected with the progressive Education Movement in a United States. For such a discussion I think it is necessary to make a rough sketch of the historical development of the progressive Education Movement (1918-1956) and this I do in the first part of the essay. My reason for giving the essay the title it has is that its main point comes down to an investigation of the relation between Dewey and the educational theories of the movement. My conclusion is that the progressive Education Movement, in which the educational theories of Romantic Naturalism were prominent, failed to carry faithfully into practice Dewey's Empirical Naturalism.

Introduction: Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) DNA has been detected at a high prevalence in saliva. The aim of this study was to clarify the prevalence and the risk of intrafamilial transmission of H. pylori infection by detecting H. pylori DNA in saliva of Japanese children and their parents.Materials & Methods: Saliva was collected from 92 children and their parents, and nested PCR and PCRRFLP were used to detect and analyze H. pylori DNA. Subtyping by PCR-RFLP is considered to be useful in order to clarify the mode of transmission.Results: The detection rate of H. pylori DNA in saliva was 12.0%(11/92) in Japanese children, however, all of the children aged less than 6 years old were negative. All of the H.pylori infected children had H.pylori positive parents (both or only one), and in 7 out of 11 cases, children and their parents were infected with the sam e strain. Especially, in 6 cases, the subtype of both the child and the mother was the same.Conclusion: H. pylori DNA in saliva was detected in 12.0%, and parents-to-child, especially mother-to-child, transmission is the most likely route of intrafamilial infection of H. pylori.
