Similarity search is an important and fundamental problem, and thus widely used in various fields of computer science including multimedia, computer vision, database, information retrieval, etc. Recently, since loitering behavior often leads to abnormal situations, such as pickpocketing and terrorist attacks, its analysis attracts increasing attention from research communities. In this paper, we present AntiLoiter, a loitering discovery system adopting efficient similarity search on surveillance videos. As we know, most of existing systems for loitering analysis, mainly focus on how to detect or identify loiterers by behavior tracking techniques. However, the difficulties of tracking-based methods are known as that their analysis results are heavily influenced by occlusions, overlaps, and shadows. Moreover, tracking-based methods need to track the human appearance continuously. Therefore, existing methods are not readily applied to real-world surveillance cameras due to the appearance discontinuity of criminal loiterers. To solve this problem, we abandon the tracking method, instead, propose AntiLoiter to efficiently discover loiterers based on their frequent appearance patterns in longtime multiple surveillance videos. In AntiLoiter, we propose a novel data structure Luigi that indexes data using only similarity value returned by a corresponding function (e.g., face matching). Luigi is adopted to perform efficient similarity search to realize loitering discovery. We conducted extensive experiments on both synthetic and real surveillance videos to evaluate the efficiency and efficacy of our approach. The experimental results show that our system can find out loitering candidates correctly and outperforms existing method by 100 times in terms of runtime.

筆者らは,外国人や聴覚障害者など,音声でのコミュニケーションが不自由な人を対象とした,コミュニケーション支援システム,VUTEを開発している.VUTEでは,携帯電子端末等で動画絵記号を表示させることにより,理解度の向上を図る.更に手話的表現を参考とすることにより,特定の国や文化に依存しない動画絵記号をデザインできることを目指している.また,マンガ的表現を取り入れることにより,より豊かな表現力をもつ.本研究の第一段階として,消防や怪我,急病などの救急時におけるコミュニケーションに限定した支援システム,VUTE 2009を試作し,公開した.本論文では,VUTE 2009がユニバーサルにコミュニケーションを支援できるよう工夫した設計方法について述べる.続いて本システムによって救急時の最低限のコミュニケーションが可能であることを評価実験によって確認し,今後のより詳細な評価実験へ向けて問題点を整理する.

The transient response characteristics such as overshoot and undershoot can be affected by the external capacitors of the LDO regulator. However, the capacitor-less LDO regulator proposed in this paper has an SR-Latch switch structure applied to the output terminal and gate terminal of the pass transistor in order to achieve improved transient response and secure excellent current driving capability. In addition, the proposed ESD protection device uses Penta-Well in low voltage applications embedded in the output stage and power line based on SCR (Silicon Control Rectifier) to provide improved ESD robustness characteristics. As a result, the transient response characteristics of the proposed LDO regulator with the SR-Latch switch structure were improved and the quiescent current was secured. The operating conditions of the proposed LDO regulator with the SR-Latch switch structure were set to an input voltage of 3.3V to 4.5V, maximum load current of 250mA, and an output voltage of 3V. As a result of the measurement, it was confirmed that the proposed LDO regulator maintained an undershoot voltage of 42mV and an overshoot voltage of 31mV when a load current of 250mA was applied. In addition, HBM ESD robustness is guaranteed at 6kV.

This study tries to construct an accurate ranking method for five team ball games at the Olympic Games. First, the study uses a statistical rating method for team ball games. A single parameter, called a rating, shows the strength and skill of each team. We assume that the difference between the rating values explains the scoring ratio in a match based on a logistic regression model. The rating values are estimated from the scores of major international competitions that are held before the Rio Olympic Games. The predictions at the Rio Olympic Games demonstrate that the proposed method can more accurately predict the match results than the official world rankings or world ranking points. The proposed method enabled 262 correct predictions out of 370 matches, whereas using the official world rankings resulted in only 238 correct predictions. This result shows a significant difference between the two criteria.

高速FMCW(Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave)レーダにレーダ信号帯域外の連続波(CW: Continuous wave)電磁ノイズを印加した場合,ノイズ周波数に対応した距離値と相対速度値に誤検出が生じる.本論文では,高速FMCWレーダのCW電磁ノイズによる誤検出の相対速度値の定式化を行い,実測値との比較によりその妥当性を示す.

The study presents a “virtual grid system” currently being developed by the authors. The system consists of a power supply, load, and virtual grid hub (VG-Hub) network connecting them. The VG-Hub network must have a large power distribution capability. Therefore, the challenge is to obtain a graph to evaluate the maximum feasible flow when multiple VG-Hubs are connected to a power source or load. In this paper, we propose a method for generating a graph to derive the maximum feasible flow. A quantitative evaluation of the proposed method is presented.

As a kind of marine vehicles, Unmanned Surface Vehicles (USV) are widely used in military and civilian fields because of their low cost, good concealment, strong mobility and high speed. High-precision detection of obstacles plays an important role in USV autonomous navigation, which ensures its subsequent path planning. In order to further improve obstacle detection performance, we propose an encoder-decoder architecture named Fusion Refinement Network (FRN). The encoder part with a deeper network structure enables it to extract more rich visual features. In particular, a dilated convolution layer is used in the encoder for obtaining a large range of obstacle features in complex marine environment. The decoder part achieves the multiple path feature fusion. Attention Refinement Modules (ARM) are added to optimize features, and a learnable fusion algorithm called Feature Fusion Module (FFM) is used to fuse visual information. Experimental validation results on three different datasets with real marine images show that FRN is superior to state-of-the-art semantic segmentation networks in performance evaluation. And the MIoU and MPA of the FRN can peak at 97.01% and 98.37% respectively. Moreover, FRN could maintain a high accuracy with only 27.67M parameters, which is much smaller than the latest obstacle detection network (WaSR) for USV.

本論文では,項目露出を考慮した整数計画法による等質テストの自動構成手法を提案する.等質テストとはテストに含まれる項目は異なるが,受験者得点の予測誤差が等質なテスト群である.等質テストでは同一能力の受験者ならば,どのテストを受験しても同一得点となる保証があり,出題可能な項目のデータベース(アイテムバンク)から自動構成される.項目の露出数(出題回数)が大きい項目は受験者間で共有されやすく,経年劣化につながりその項目の信頼性が失われやすいため,露出数の偏りの軽減が重要な課題の一つである.Ishii and Ueno (2015) は構成した等質テストを全て保存し,その中から最も露出率(=露出数の最大値/テスト構成数)が小さい等質テストを出力して,露出率を軽減する手法を提案した.本論文では乱数を用いた整数計画法でテスト構成することで,露出数の偏りが改善されることを示し,整数計画法のみでは解決されなかった項目露出のバイアス問題を露出数上位の項目をアイテムバンクから除外しながらテスト構成することで解決する手法を提案する.評価実験では従来手法とテスト構成数及び露出率を比較し,提案手法の有効性を示す.

This paper proposes constant voltage design based on K-inverter for cooperative inductive power transfer (IPT) where a nearby receiver picks up power and simultaneously cooperates in relaying the signal toward another distant receiver. In a cooperative IPT system, wireless power is fundamentally transferred to the nearby receiver via one K-inverter and to the distant receiver via two K-inverters. By adding one more K-inverter to the nearby receiver, our design is among the simplest methods as it delivers constant output voltage to each receiver via two K-inverters only. Experimental results verify that the proposed cooperative IPT system can stabilize two output voltages against the load variations while attaining high RF-RF efficiency of 90%.

This paper details the design of a plate that controls the beam direction in an aperture array excited by a waveguide 2-plane hybrid coupler. The beam direction can be controlled in the range of ±15-32deg. in the quasi H-plane, and ±26-54deg. in the quasi E-plane at the design frequency of 66.425GHz. Inductive irises are introduced into tapered waveguides in the plate and the reflection is suppressed by narrow apertures. A plate that has a larger tilt angle in the quasi E-plane and another plate with conventional rectangular waveguide ports as a reference are fabricated and measured. The measured values agree well with the simulation results.

H-bridges are important driving components for consumer electronics and industry controls. They also play an important role in technologies related to DC motor control. Conventional H-bridge drivers require dead-time generation to avoid the shoot-through current resulting from both upper and lower power transistors being turned on concurrently. Unlike the conventional H-bridge driver, this paper proposes an H-bridge driver based on a complementary MOSFET type using gate bias, without a dead time generator, to improve its driving efficiency. Moreover, this proposed H-bridge driver also has a reduced hardware complexity.

AONT (All-or-Nothing Transform) is a kind of (n, n)-threshold secret sharing scheme that distributes a message m into a set of n shares such that the message m can be reconstructed if and only if n shares are collected. At CRYPTO 2000, Desai proposed a simple and faster AONT based on the CTR mode of encryption (called CTRT) and proved its security in the ideal cipher model. Though AES-128, whose key length k = 128 and block length l = 128, can be used in CTRT as a block cipher, AES-256 and AES-192 cannot be used due to its intrinsic restriction of k ≤ l. In this paper, we propose an extended CTRT (for short, XCTRT) suitable for AES-256. By thoroughly evaluating all the tricky cases, we prove that XCTRT is secure in the ideal cipher model under the same CTRT security definition. Also, we discuss the security result of XCTRT in concrete parameter settings. For more flexibility of key length, we propose a variant of XCTRT dealing with l<k ≤ 2l by slightly modifying the construction of the last block. After showing implementation details and performance evaluation of CTRT, XCTRT, and the variant, we can say that our XCTRT and its variant have high-speed encoding and decoding performance and are quite practical enough to be deployed in real-world applications.

ESD試験器の火花を介した気中放電は放電電流が試験ごとに変動するため,IEC 61000-4-2では,気中モードでの校正波形を規定していない.Pommerenke氏らは,火花を介さない水銀接点リレーを用いた気中モードに対するステップ応答の測定法を提案し,これが気中モード試験器の校正法になりえることを示唆した.筆者らの先行研究では,接触・気中の両試験法とも結果の再現性を確保するには試験器の構造を反映するアドミタンスを規制すべきとの観点から,三機種の異なる気中モード試験器の理想スイッチを介したステップ応答を測定アドミタンスから導出し,試験器固有の属性をあきらかにした.本研究では,気中モード試験器に対する校正要件を根本から考察するために,IEC規格の基因となった人体気中放電に対する放電電流のステップ応答を,測定アドミタンスとIEC規格に基づく簡易等価回路からそれぞれ導出し,両者の計算波形とスペクトルを,三機種の現用ESD試験器の測定アドミタンスと簡易等価回路から求めたステップ応答のそれらと比較する.つぎに,人体気中放電と三機種の試験器の気中モードに対する放電電流の測定波形を,ステップ応答の計算波形と対比し,人体と試験器のIEC規格に基づく簡易等価回路から求めたステップ応答が校正要件を検討する際の草案の基礎になることを示す.

本研究では,不公平を強いられる可能性のある特別乗客(ベビーカーや車椅子,大きな荷物などをもつ乗客)や一般乗客を含む全タイプの乗客にカメラからの情報を利用し,公平な待ち時間と効率的な輸送を実現するためのエレベータ群の配車制御法を提案する.高層ビルではエレベータは垂直輸送の手段として必要不可欠である.建物のエレベータ台数は限られており,効率的な配車制御が必要である.また,エレベータ容量の限度から,多くの占有量が必要な特別乗客は十分な空きのあるエレベータが到着するまで,一般乗客より長時間待たされやすい.一方,近年では環境を観測するカメラや各種センサの普及と画像認識技術の向上により,エレベータホールでの待機人数や荷物の大きさを精度よく推定できる.提案手法は,特定のカゴやホールを監視する複数のエージェントがこれらの情報を収集し,待ち時間の短縮化と公平化を実現する効果的な配車を実現する.シミュレーションを用いて評価実験を行い,提案手法が待ち時間の短縮と公平化を実現し,全乗客の輸送効率を改善できること,更に推定人数の誤差が与える影響を調査する.最後に改善に対する考察と提案手法の限界を議論する.

A slot antenna array backed by substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) cavity with high gain, wideband and low sidelobe levels (SLLs) is proposed in this letter. Four 2×2 slots antenna elements based on SIW cavity are used as the radiation structure. A broadband SIW corporate-feed network is equipped on the bottom layer to feed antenna array. Due to the broadband characteristics of antenna element and feed network, antenna array with wide band is obtained. Then, through the dislocation distribution of antenna elements, the SLLs of antenna array can get greatly reduced. A prototype has been fabricated using standard PCB process, and measured for verification. As for the measurement results, the impedance bandwidth below -10dB is from 18.2GHz to 21.7GHz (17.5%). The maximum gain is 17.4dBi at 20.5GHz. Most importantly, the SLLs of both E- and H-plane are all lower than -15dB in the working band.

フェージングによる信号強度低下を簡易な処理で軽減できる技術として,差動時空間ブロック符号化(DSTBC)伝送が検討されている.また,高い周波数利用効率を得るため,セル間で同一の周波数を用いる単一周波数繰り返しは,主にセル境界での同一チャネル干渉(CCI)が課題となる.一般に移動局では設置スペースなどの制約で多くのアンテナを搭載することは困難であり,送信側で複数アンテナを用いるDSTBC伝送ではより多くのCCIが観測される.このような環境では,従来のアレー信号処理による干渉抑圧では劣決定問題となるために十分な受信性能が得られない可能性がある.本論文では,少ない受信アンテナ数の条件においても動作可能なDSTBC伝送向けのCCI抑圧方式を示し,更に多数の干渉波が到来する複局同時送信システムへの拡張法も示す.計算機シミュレーションにより複局同時送信システムにおけるセル境界付近での干渉抑圧性能を評価し,受信アンテナ数の2倍を超える干渉波が到来する環境においてもチャネル行列の拡張,合成処理を行うことで決定問題に帰着させ,適切に干渉を抑圧可能であることを示す.

マイクロ波の送信モジュールには小型化と低コスト化が求められる.提案する送信モジュールは,高集積に適するSiデバイス上に制御回路を構成し,最終段の1W級の増幅器にSi-GaNスタック型増幅器を採用したことで,送信モジュールで使用するデバイスプロセスの数を減らし電源電圧の数を最少化することで電源回路を簡易化することが可能である.試作では,GaNチップを基板に内蔵し,Siチップと電源回路素子のチップインダクタを基板上に表面実装した3次元実装構造とすることで,モジュール面積7 mm x 7 mmの小型な実装構造を実現した.試作した送信モジュールは,L~C帯において広帯域な動作が可能であり,出力電力はL帯で34.8 dBm,S帯で32.0 dBm,C帯で25.8 dBmが得られ,0.6 dB-rms以下の振幅誤差と1.8 deg.-rms以下の移相量誤差の特性が得られた.

Reservoir computing (RC) is an attractive alternative to machine learning models owing to its computationally inexpensive training process and simplicity. In this work, we propose EnsembleBloomCA, which utilizes cellular automata (CA) and an ensemble Bloom filter to organize an RC system. In contrast to most existing RC systems, EnsembleBloomCA eliminates all floating-point calculation and integer multiplication. EnsembleBloomCA adopts CA as the reservoir in the RC system because it can be implemented using only binary operations and is thus energy efficient. The rich pattern dynamics created by CA can map the original input into a high-dimensional space and provide more features for the classifier. Utilizing an ensemble Bloom filter as the classifier, the features provided by the reservoir can be effectively memorized. Our experiment revealed that applying the ensemble mechanism to the Bloom filter resulted in a significant reduction in memory cost during the inference phase. In comparison with Bloom WiSARD, one of the state-of-the-art reference work, the EnsembleBloomCA model achieves a 43× reduction in memory cost while maintaining the same accuracy. Our hardware implementation also demonstrated that EnsembleBloomCA achieved over 23× and 8.5× reductions in area and power, respectively.

This paper proposes novel test techniques for high accuracy measurement of ADCs and a ramp generator on a CMOS image sensor (CIS) chip. The test circuit for the ADCs has a dual path and has an ability of multi-functional fine pattern generator that can define any input for each column to evaluate CIS specific characteristics electrically. The test circuit for the ramp generator can realize an on-chip current cell test and reject the current cell failure within 1LSB accuracy. We fabricated the test sensor using 55nm CIS process and measured the IP characteristics. Measured results show INL of 14.6LSB, crosstalk of 14.9LSB and column interference noise of 5.4LSB. These measured results agree with the designed values. By using this technique, we confirmed the accurate ADC measurement can be realized without being affected by the ambiguity of the optical input.
