我が国の国土政策は,国土の均衡ある発展を目指して進められてきたが,地方の人口減少と並行する形で都市への人口集中が続いており,地方における担い手不足や経済の停滞などが大きな課題となっている.一方,EUは我が国と比較して地方の人口減少を緩和させている.この要因の一つとして,中山間地域の主要産業である農業に対する政策の差異が考えられる.EUでは農業政策においても国土政策的な視点から地域の隔たりなく,営農に加え教育や医療へのアクセスなども確保する政策,つまり全国民が満たすべき基本的権利を尊重した政策を講じ地域間格差是正や地方への人口定着を図っている.本研究では既往研究からEUの農業政策を分析し,我が国との比較を通して,国土政策の推進に有益となる施策や枠組みを新たな視点で検討・提案した.

林冠環境の異なる3地点(コナラ林,アカマツ林,林外)において,積雪中の化学物質濃度および生物量の変化を調べた.積雪中の陰イオン濃度は,アカマツ林内でコナラ林内および林外よりも高くなっている.各地点とも積雪中のCl-,NO3-,SO42-濃度は,融雪の進行によって低下する.しかしながら,積雪中のPO43-濃度は,いずれの地点でも融雪最盛期に増加する.その濃度が,アカマツ林内とコナラ林内で林外よりも高いことから,積雪中のPO43-は有機物の二次生成物と考えられる.顕微鏡観察によると,林内の積雪中には細菌・カビ・藻類の存在が認められるが,積雪初期には低密度で,融雪最盛期に増加する.積雪中のクロロフィルaとフェオフィチンaの濃度は,アカマツ林内においてコナラ林,林外よりも高い.また,アカマツ林内およびコナラ林内のクロロフィルa濃度は,融雪最盛期に増加し,藻類が増加することを示している.積雪中のバクテリア数は,アカマツ林内>コナラ林内>林外の順であり,融雪最盛期に多くなる.積雪融解試料による培養実験の結果,アカマツ林内の試料を明所に置いた場合のみ,NO3-濃度が減少し,25日目以降NO3-が検出されない.積雪融解試料に緑藻を添加した培養実験では,アカマツ林内の試料で,2週間でクロロフィルaとして14.7μg/lの緑藻が増加した.この結果から窒素の消費量を見積もると,藻類の増加によって積雪中からNとして220μg/lが消費されたことになる.

Study on Voith-Schneider-Propeller is made much complicated by several factors even in two-dimensional treatment. When the chord length is small, however, the propeller may be regarded as composed of blades, each individually moving along a trochoidal path relative to uniform flow (quasi-steady state, interference disregarded), with suitable correction for advance speed. The author tried to make some account on the action of the propeller as two-dimensional under above principle, taking into consideration the curvature of blade path relative to the uniform flow, as well as the azimuthal location of the steering center and here are given some numerical examples. Also an application to cyclo-gyro aircraft is referred to. It is known that for air transportation purpose, the direction of blade rotation must be chosen in conformity with what sort of airfoil is used.

We sent questionnaires to 1, 416 registered hospitals of The Japanese Orthopaedic Association and made inquiries about the use of bupivacaine for spinal anesthesia. We received answers from 870 hospitals (reply rate of 61.4%). In 85.7% of these hospitals, orthopaedic surgeons anesthetize their patients, performing surgical operations of their hips or lower extremities. In 41.4% of these hospitals, they use Marcain® for spinal anesthesia. During the 6 month period between January through June of 1998, 39, 690 patients were anesthetized by orthopaedic surgeons in those 870 hospitals. 27, 287 cases were for spinal anesthesia and Marcain spinal were used in 7, 321 cases. The most common side-effects were hypotension, but its degree was mild and controllable. No neurologic side-effects were reported. 90.5% of the surgeons who had experienced the Marcain spinal anesthesia reply that they need preservative-free bupivacaine for spinal anesthesia strongly.

Ordinarily, several oil-based paints are stirred to generate marble patterns. In this report, the process of Stirring paints are simulated to generate marble patterns. AS it is difficult to obtain fluid flow exactly, it is expressed in terms of velocity fields derived from stream functions. Changes of positions of particles of which fluid consists are calculated and time changing patterns are generated.
