研究活動結果の公表媒体である学術論文(以下、論文)に着目し、我が国の科学研究のベンチマーキングを行った。個別指標(論文数、Top10%補正論文数、被引用数)と、複合指標(論文数に対するTop10%補正論文数の占める度合、相対被引用度)により、日本の状況を分野ごとに、主要国との比較を行った。また、日本については、部門別・組織区分別での分析を加え、日本内部の論文産出構造の時系列変化を明らかにした。 その結果、①日本全体の論文数が伸び悩みの状態であること、②日本国内でみると産業の論文数が低下し、論文に関する大学の役割が拡大しているが、国立大学の論文数は伸び悩んでいること、③研究の国際化に伴い世界で国際共著論文が急増しているが、日本はこの変化に充分対応出来ていないという問題点が浮かび上がった。

1961年8月19日岐阜,福井,石川3県境界付近に発生した北美浜地震にともなう余震群を,本震震央南南西30kmの岐阜県郡上郡八幡町において8月27日より約1ケ月間磁気テープ記録による多成分観測装置によつて観測した.辺長1kmにちかい3点観測によつて初詣の到来方向,みかけの速度をもとめ余震群の分布を現地でただちに推定することができたが,それによると余震域は本震震央の西方にひろがるごくせまい面積をしめ,深度はO~25kmの地殼内にかぎられることがわかつた.余震域の面積A(km2)は本震の規模(M=7.2)から宇津・関の公式logA=M-4で推定されるものにくらべいちぢるしくせまい.なお余震群以外の局地的小地震が観測されたことも注目にあたいする結果である.|After the Kita Mino (North Mino) Earthquake of August 19th, 1961, we hurried to Hachiman, Gujo County, Gifu Prefecture, Central Japan, about 30 kms south-east of the epicenter to observe its aftershock activity for several weeks. Tripartite stations were occupied, as shown in the map of Fig. 1, near the temporary observation room at Gujo High School and from Aug. 27th to Sept. 20th the observation were executed almost continuously.

The area around Mt. Gankyoji-yama, 45 km east of Fukui City and 70 km north of Gifu Gity, was attacked by a severe earthquake at 14 h 33 m on August 19, 1961 (The earthquake was later named as Kita Mino Earthquake). In this area, in addition to the damage done to houses and stone walls, fissures were opened on narrow ridges. Many rock fall and earth fall took places on the steep cliffs.

What kind of rationality did Leibniz esteem on the level of sensation? In this essay, I will try to answer this question, from the aspect of his theory of sensation, by focusing on his idea of image and abstraction. In fact, Leibniz did not regard the role of sense perception merely as an occasion of having knowledges, for he says: “it‟s by an admirable economy of the nature that we cannot have abstract thoughts which do not require any sensible things”. It means we should see behind his theory of sensation an insight into the harmony between experience and reason.

This study examined the effects of computer games on school performance of high school students in Los Baños, Laguna, Philippines. Allowance, gender, peer group and year level positively affect student's decision to play while time spent on studying, year level, previous grade, number of books and time spent playing computer games are found to be significant in affecting student's performance. Results showed that the probability of a computer gamer to fail is 39%, given the student has more than four siblings, a previous grade of at most 84, lesser teachers, lesser hours on studying, living near a computer shop, and spends more hours playing computer games. Moreover, 60% of the students' daily allowance is spent on playing computer games.

2013 年は全世界で合計81 回のロケット打上げがあり、通信放送衛星、地球観測衛星、航行測位衛星、宇宙科学衛星(月惑星探査機を含む)、有人宇宙船など32 カ国3 機関より計208 機の衛星が軌道に投入された。2013 年には、韓国初の独自ロケットの打上げ成功、日本と中国それぞれの新型全段固体燃料ロケットの打上げ成功、欧州の新型通信衛星の開発、インドの火星探査機及び航行測位衛星、中国の月着陸機及び月ローバ、米国や新興国の大量の超小型衛星、米国の新たな物資輸送船の登場などの新しい動きがあった。 衛星打上げは全般的に順調に行われ、国際宇宙ステーション(ISS)の運用もほぼ計画通り進められた。 ISS に参加していない中国は、2020 年頃までに独自の宇宙ステーションの構築を計画しており、2013 年は有人宇宙船「神舟10 号」と軌道上のドッキングターゲット「天宮1 号」とのドッキングを成功させ、有人飛行実績を着実に積み重ねた。2014 年も宇宙開発利用に参加する国が増加していくと見込まれる。
