In order to clarify the involvement of the central nervous system (CNS) in the responses of organisms to exposure to whole body vibration, dopamine (DA) metabolism and levels of DA-related neuropeptides: substance P-like immunoreactivity (SP-LI), somatostatin-like immunoreactivity (SRIF-LI) and neurotensin-like immunoreactivity (NT-LI) in various discrete regions of the rat brain were examined in the following three groups; a group exposed to whole body vibration (4G, 20Hz, 1.5 hours), a group exposed to noise (68-72 dB (A), 1.5 hours) associated with the driving of a vibration generator, and a control group. Simultaneously, changes of both rectal temperatures and plasma corticosterone levels and the development of gastric ulcers were examined as indices of the autonomic-endocrine function.1. Rectal temperatures and plasma corticosterone levels were increased by the exposure to whole body vibration, as compared with those of the group exposed to noise. Furthermore, gastric ulcers developed in all of the rats exposed to whole body vibration.2. The whole body vibration increased the DA turnover rate in the frontal cortex and the nucleus accumbens, compared with those in the noise group. SP-LI in the nucleus accumbens was also increased significantly.3. The striatal SRIF-LI was increased in the rats subjected to whole body vibration.4. SP-LI and SRIF-LI in the amygdala were increased in the whole body vibration group as compared with in the noise group. A significant increase of NT-LI was also observed in the hypothalamus.5. SP-LI was reduced and NT-LI was increased in the frontal cortex of the rats exposed to whole body vibration.6. The noise exposure caused no changes in rectal temperature, plasma corticosterone levels or gastric mucosa. However, the DA turnover in the amygdala increased significantly compared with that of the control group, suggesting that the DA neurons projecting to the amygdala were involved in emotional changes induced by the exposure to noise stress.7. The combined effects of noise and whole body vibration could not be observed in this study.In conclusion, the findings obtained in the present study indicate that DA systems in the CNS, especially the mesocortical DA system, may be involved in various responses of the organism, including emotional changes in a functional relationship with SP, SRIF and NT neuron systems in various brain regions when subjected to whole body vibration.

Psychological research often deals with psychological constructs that cannot be directly measured. Thus independent variables of regression analysis for an observable dependent variable are sometimes latent variables (factors) that are defined independently of the dependent variable. In this study we pointed out the problem associated with the use of factor analysis for the combined set of dependent variable and independent variables in such a cases; that is, the derived factors are different from those originally intended, and the true regression parameters cannot be reproduced. We proposed a stagewise estimation method to solve the problem. This method estimates parameters of measurement equation in the first stage, and then estimates parameters of structural equation in the second stage. Our proposed method enables calculation of standard errors of estimators using Bootstrapping method. Numerical studies showed that the proposed method improves the estimation efficiency over the conventional methods, and provides estimates which are robust with respect to misspecification of model.

当社では,アルミ固体電解コンデンサに迫る電気的特性と実用性を有するアルミ電解コンデンサを開発し,1998年にZシリーズとして商品化した.このZシリーズの駆動用電解液には,水を主溶媒とした電解液(水系電解液)を用いている.従来,水系電解液を用いたコンデンサは,低インピーダンス特性が期待できる反面,高温条件下では,アルミニウム電極箔と水との著しい化学反応(水和反応)により短時間で急激な特性変化を起こすという欠点があった.また,開発当初に行った温度加速試験において,このコンデンサの寿命は,寿命推定に適用されるアレニウス則(2倍/10℃加速の法則)が成立せず,アルミ電解コンデンサの信頼性に最も重要な寿命の予測ができないという課題も抱えていた.これらの大きな障害により,従来のアルミ電解コンデンサ駆動用電解液は,水を少量添加することはあっても,主溶媒として使われることはあり得なかった.当社では,これらの課題を克服できれば,水系電解液の持つ高い電気伝導特性を生かして,超低インピーダンスの理想的なコンデンサを製造することができると考え,20年前より研究開発を行ってきた.その結果,溶媒として水を単独で用いた電解液でも,従来の有機溶媒を用いた電解液とほぼ同等のコンデンサ寿命特性を有することを確認した.そして,水の反応性を制御することに成功し,多くのノウハウを集積して実用性の高いアルミ電解コンデンサを開発し商品化するに至ったのである.ここでは,水系電解液を用いたコンデンサの開発について述べる.

The present paper reviews recent progress for about 5 years (1969-1973) of cyanine dyes concerning 1) the utilization of them in photographic industries and 2) fundamental studies.1) Utilization of them are classified as follows, briely; spectral sensitization of ordinary photographic emulsion, direct positive emulsion, inorganic and organic photoconductors, and also photographic characteristis, supersensitization (composed of various combinations.)2) As for fundamental studies, they cover the following items: absorption-, luminescent-, massspectra, and aggregation of cyanine dyes.

In this article, the research material is the Historical Education textbooks "Today through Yesterday". These textbooks were written by C. F. Strong in 1936 in Britain. The purpose of these textbooks is to bring up the citizen through historical education. I tried to make clear the principle of the historical content construction. The result of the analysis is as follow. 1) The purpose of citizenship education in Britain was to bring up the citizen who understand the democracy and make effort to defend it aganst the dictatorship. 2) Strong made clear the principle that bring up the citizen through historical content construction. 3) Strong concluded that the material of the historical education is the historical things. And, he concluded that the material of the citizenship education is the current things. So, he deviced the principle of the historical content construction for citizenship education. And, he put the principle into effect. This was the historical education textbooks "Today through Yesterday ". 4) "Today through Yesterday" was made up four books. The date of each books treted was as follow. book 1 earlist times to 1603 book 2 1603-1837 book 3 1837-present book 4 present 5) The principle of the historical content construction for book 1 to book 2 is the chronological approach. The principles for book 3 is the topic approach. The principles for books 4 is the concentric approach. 6) The special feature of the principle of "The through Yesterday" is the gradual change chronological approach to concentric approach.
