In Kushiro coal mine, Taiheiyo Coal Mine Co. Ltd., hydraulic iron props have beers applied successfiy since 1959, and hobels since 1960.A considerable increase of output per manshift has resulted from these mechanization in thin seams. Then we began to use Tandem hobels and MKSP-LIU type selfadvanced roof supports in our thin seams to get more increased productivity, and obtained some good results. The auther report in this paper, the new mechanised organization of winning, several technical and economical data.The auther also discussed the problems of thin seam mechanization, which we must dissolve in future to get a much more high productivity in our coal mine.

A 79-year-old woman was admitted to our hospital with vertigo. Vertigo was exacerbated by head rotation. Head magnetic resonance imaging revealed no acute cerebral infarction. The bilateral posterior communicating artery was not seen on magnetic resonance angiography. Three-dimensional computed tomographic angiography revealed severe stenosis in the left subclavian artery. Carotid Doppler ultrasonography (CDUS) revealed a change in the vertebral artery (VA) blood flow with the head rotated. These findings were also confirmed using dynamic digital subtraction angiography (DSA). Stenting in the left subclavian artery was performed, and the vertigo disappeared. This is the first report of subclavian steal syndrome that appeared with head rotation. These findings suggest that evaluation of VA and subclavian artery using dynamic CDUS and DSA is required for patients presenting with vertebrobasilar insufficiency even if VA blood flow is antegrade in the neutral position.

東京圏の中心地に位置する東京タワーにおける 2009 年の春季~夏季および秋季~初冬の夜間高 NO2 濃度時を解析したところ,ポテンシャルオゾン(以下,PO)濃度について季節別に特徴があり,春季~夏季では時間帯によっては高濃度が確かめられ,秋季~初冬には一様な濃度低下が認められた.また,春季~夏季および秋季~初冬の夜間 PO 濃度が平均 80 ppb を越えた時はいずれも春季~夏季において認められた.その際,翌日の日中 PO 濃度が平均 80 ppb を越え,その 3 例の内 1 例の前日に山梨県で日中に熱的低気圧が生成し,光化学スモッグ注意報が発令される事例があり,東京圏からの汚染の輸送と推測された.
