This paper takes the focus on the musical instruments of Maraghl's two writings in Persian, Jami'al-alhan (the collection of melodies) and Maqasid al-alhan (the intention of melodies), which give us the most precious data as written in the Islamic world of 15th century. In his works there are 45 names of musical instruments with brief descriptions. 'Abd al-Qa^^-dir ibn Ghaybi^^- Ha^^-fiz Mara^^-ghi^^- (135? 〜 d.1435 Herat) was the person who showed the musical talent in the time when the history of west and central Asia had greatly moved, accepted by the several rulers, and left the important works to future generations. As born in Maragha(now Iran), he is commonly called Maragh! or Ghaybl. He was a musician, poet, and calligrapher. Since he himself was an excellent player of 'ud and harp, he wrote the books of the music theory, based on his practical experiences. The descriptive section of various musical instruments in his writings does not necessarily take a large portion, but only one chapter, added as a sort of dictionary. However, instead of taking up whole musical instruments of his time, he treated in own writings only those which called saz, the musical instruments but limited to the melodic instruments. Therefore, he did not adopt the rhythmic instruments in his books, such as drums or clappers etc. It is interesting that he included particularly the melodic percussion instruments of the cup-phones or bowl-phones with water-tuning system by his original device. There are 29 names of the string instruments, 13 of the wind instruments and 3 of the percussion instruments. In this paper I indicate the name list of them, then, Japanese translations of each description with my brief comments, and lastly refer to his classification and concept of these instruments, which were probably reflecting the view of his days. In his writings Maraghl presents the various musical instruments covering vast area from east to west in Eurasia, and makes us to recognize the spread of the informations in those days.

The chemical and microbiological analyses of <i>kusaya</i> gravy were determined in samples obtained from manufacturers at Hachijojima Island. The pH value (7.02-7.55), crude fat content (0.82-0.92%), the amount of total nitrogen (403-457mg/100m<i>l</i>), and the viable cell count on nutrient agar plate (3.4-9.4×10⁷ cells/m<i>l</i>) did not differ significantly from those of Niijima and Oshima Islands. The NaCl concentration (8.0-11.1%), however, was much higher than those of Niijima and Oshima Islands. The classification of bacteria at the genus level was performed on 60 strains from the gravy of Hachijojima Island. The microbial flora was significantly different from those of Niijima and Oshima Islands: bacteria of genera <i>Moraxella</i> (38-65%) and <i>Pseudomonas</i> (15-57%) were the most predominant. Bacteria of genus <i>Spirillum</i>, which were the characteristic organisms in the gravy of Niijima and Oshima Islands, were also observed.

書評(Book Review)2012年出版の邦訳書『自然と権力』の書評である。内容紹介にとどまらず、本書の議論が、現在ドイツにおける自然・環境保護の歴史学研究においてどのような意味をもつのかを考察している。とくにラトゥカウの「現代環境意識」論に焦点をあて、この意識の特性、その新しさと限界とに検討を加えている。さらに2000年初版後に修正・加筆された部分が邦訳されていることの意義を高く評価している。Diese Rezension geht nach einer kurzen Zusammenfassung des Buches der Frage nach, welche Bedeutung Radkaus historische Sichtweise auf die natürlichen Ressourcen und die von ihr herausgezogenen Argumente für die Historiographie über Natur- und Umweltschutz in Deutschland haben. Die Rezensentin konzentriert sich auf die Darstellungen der Gegenwart und erörtert, wie das von Radkau vorgestellte „moderne Umweltbewusstsein" zu charakterisieren ist und inwieweit diese Gesinnung für „global" bzw. für „deutsch" gehalten werden kann.

分散コンピュータシステム等は、その使用形態に応じて、完全な集中から完全な分散にいたるまで、性能最適化目標に対する種々のレベルの分散を考えることができる。本研究では、中間的な分散最適化において、システムに資源を増強すると、かえって全てのユーザに対して性能が劣化することがあるという逆説的現象を見出した。また、そのような劣化が生ずる条件を求めた。さらに、そのような劣化が限りなく大きくなる場合があり得ることを示した。このようなパラドックスを、分散コンピュータシステムのモデルについて論じ、数値的ならびに数理的結果を述べた。

私たちにとって身近な携帯電話は,年々利用率を増やし続け,総務省の調べによると 2009 年 9 月時点で 89.3% に登った.そんな中,現在の携帯電話の利用機能は通話機能を抜いて第 1 位がメール機能となり,日本語入力が重要な要素となった.そこで,本研究ではメール入力時の日本語入力システムとして携帯電話で取得した情報から予測単語リストの優先順位を変更するシステムを提案する.携帯電話で取得できるデータとして時間や場所などがあり,例えば 「お」 と入力すると,朝なら 「おはよう」 が,夜なら 「おやすみ」 が上位になるように予測候補の順番を変える.また,メール相手との上下関係や接点などをアドレス帳から調べ,口調や年齢に合わせた単語を上位に表示したり,今お互いがいる場所からよく入力される単語を調べて,優先順位に反映する.このように TPO (時間・場所・場合) にあわせて優先順位を変更することで効率的な単語選択を可能とし,全体的な入力速度の高速化を実現する.Mobile phones are now very familiar for us. Their availability keeps expanding every year. The share reached 89.3% according to the research of the Ministry of Public Management, Home Affairs, Posts and Telecommunications in September, 2009. And, the use of e-mail function came to the first place outstripping the call function on the present mobile phones, and Japanese text input function became a critical factor. In this paper, we propose a system that changes the priority of words in the forecast list in the Japanese text input system using information acquired when a mail is input with the mobile phone. The information that can be acquired with the mobile phone is "Time" and "Place", etc. For instance, "Good" is input, and "Good morning" is displayed in the night. Moreover, the hierarchical relationship and the relationship with the other party are examined from the address book on the mobile phone, and words matched to the relationship, age and sex is displayed in the high rank. Moreover, the order of the forecast list is changed according to the words often used at the place where the user is sending a mail. The efficiency of the word selection is achieved by changing the priority level of candidates according to TPO, and the speed-up of the overall text input speed is achieved in the proposed system.

This study examined the influence of lemon drink intake during exercise on the autonomic nervous system activity. Four test drinks (500g each) of lemon water, lemon fruit water, honey lemon water, and honey lemon fruit water were prepared. The lemon water and lemon fruit water were prepared by the addition of lemon juice (40g) and lemon fruit powder (1g) to water, respectively. The honey lemon water and honey lemon fruit water were prepared by the addition of honey (4g) to the above lemon drinks. Six healthy male subjects (average age, 21.3 years) exercised using an exercise bike for 20 min at the heart rate from 110 to 120 bpm. They freely ingested all the test drink during the exercise. The autonomic nervous system activity was examined by measuring the variation in the fingertip heart rate before exercise, after exercise, and after a 30-min. rest. For the intake of the honey lemon water, the LF/HF level (sympathetic nerve activity) after exercise was shown to significantly increase in comparison to that before exercise (p<0.05). For the intake of the lemon fruit water, the HF level (parasympathetic nerve activity) after rest was shown to have a tendency to significantly increase in comparison to that before and after exercise (p<0.1). Based on these results, it was suggested that the intake of the honey lemon water during exercise increased the sympathetic nerve activity after exercise and that of the lemon fruit water has a tendency to increase the parasympathetic nerve activity after exercise rest.

本研究では、小型無人航空機(UAV)を用いて、マニュアル操作なしに未知環境の探索を行う『自律型SLAM』の実現を目指す。 特徴点マッチによるSLAMシステムにその制約に合わせた行動則を適用し、実機実験を行った。結果、広い屋内ではロバストな自律探索を実現したが、未踏領域をくまなく調べるような高度な探索には至らなかった。従って本研究は、小型UAVを用いた自律型SLAMが実現可能なことを明らかにした。
