The reasons for difficulties involving the distal extension removable partial detures is their undue movement under the occlusal forces. The supporting structures in removable partial dentures (abutment teeth and residual ridges) are "living things" and are subjected to forces. To a great extent the forces accruing through a removable restoration can be widely distributed, directed, and minimized by the selection, design, and location of components of the removable partial denture and by developing a harmonious occlusion. For these reasons, mesial rest I bar clasp (RPI) is the most commonly used retainers for distal extension removable partial dentures. The RPI clasp allows release from an abutment tooth when occlusal forces are applied to the denture base, and the clasp gives good resistance to occlusal displacement, covers a minimun of tooth structure, and in most situations shows less metal than other clasps. However, when an insufficient vestibular depth will not allow the I bar to be released from tissue, undercut below the abutment teeth for the I bar may be so extensive that it is uncomfortable for the patient. In these situations, the RPI clasp cannot be used. This paper presents the clinical considerations about the RPA clasp serving as the RPI clasp.

本論文では,分散メモリ型大規模並列システムにおける大域的ページ配置方針について論じる.各ノードの主記憶を仮想記憶の一時的な退避先として割り当てる大域的ページ配置方式は,従来の仮想記憶におけるディスクアクセスをより高速なノード間のメモリアクセスに置き換えることができる.限定されたノードにしかディスクを持たない大規模並列システムでは,大域的ページ配置は特に有効と考えられる.本論文では,状態情報の収集,置き換えページの選択,ページを転送するノードの選択などについて,大規模システムを想定した大域的ページ配置の様々な方針を提案し,これらの性能をシミュレーションを用いて比較・評価する.

This article compares the capital cities of the Liao and Jin with Dadu 大都 of the Yuan dynasty and examines distinctive features of Dadu’s spatial structure as a capital city. The key to the comparison is kingship rites, or rites associated with regal authority. Capital cities on China’s Central Plain were places for performing Confucian rites. The Liao, Jin, and Yuan each captured Kaifeng 開封. When doing so, they assimilated the culture of the Central Plain, but the way in which they did so differed. In particular, changes can be seen in the spatial structure of their capital cities, depending on the extent to which they adopted the suburban sacrifice (jiaosi 郊祀), which functioned as a kingship rite on the Central Plain. The spatial structure of Dadu was similar to that of capital cities on the Central Plain, but Kublai Khan did not perform the suburban sacrifice, and instead he performed kingship rites that derived from Tibetan Buddhism and shamanism. Making use of this fact, I clarify characteristics of Dadu’s spatial structure as a capital city.

大学連携による e ラーニングの質保証ガイドラインに基づいたチェックシートを試作した.チェックシートとガイドラインとを一体化させ,対象コンテンツの情報をチェックシートに記載することによってガイドラインの内容を保証させるようにした.また,チェックシートをガイドラインに準拠させる中で,ガイドラインの見直しにも取り組んだ.この一連の経緯を報告する.

ソーシャルワーカー養成に欠かせない対人援助の技術習得の一つに、F.P.バイステックによる「ケースワークの原則」、通称「バイステックの7原則」があるが、介護福祉士、看護師、理学療法士、作業療法士はどのような理論を拠り所とし、どのような教材、授業実践で習得しているのだろうか。比較検討したところ、対人援助教育というより、コミュニケーション、アサーション、チームアプローチ教育に力を入れていることがわかった。しかし、5資格が対応するクライエントは共通していることも多いことから、今後、「バイステックの7原則」を含む対人援助教育を展開することの重要性が示唆された。

本稿は米国において人権擁護の立場からいわゆる「不適切な」表現やことばの是正を謳ったポリティカル・コレクトネス現象の社会的・文化的要因を考察し、この運動が「人権」という権利を擁護する一方で、米国社会が最も尊重する「表現の自由」という権利に大きな打撃を与えたことを論じる。また、米国と比較し、日本におけることば狩りと呼ばれる言論抑圧はポリティカル・コレクトネスに類似してはいるが、社会形態そして文化背景の違いにより異なったものであることを示す。 (英文)This paper (i) considers social and cultural factors of political correctness, a phenomenon in the United States in which "inappropriate" words or expressions are banned and replaced based on the standpoint of the protection of fundamental human rights, and (ii) points out that while this social movement has contributed to protection of human rights, it has ironically exhibited serious damage to the freedom of expression, one of the most fundamental rights in the country. The Japanese society exhibits a similar phenomenon known as kotoba-gari "word hunt"; however, the present study argues that it differs from political correctness due to its unique social and cultural backgrounds.
