This paper considers factors in the Heiji Disturbance and the circumstances of a nine-day incident through an examination of the theory of Mr. Syousuke KAWACHI (河内祥輔). The conclusions are as follows.(1) The situation in aristocratic circles after the Hougen Disturbance was not stable.(2) The confrontation between a direct Imperial government group and a cloister government group began from the time of GOSHIRAKAWA’s (後白河) abdication from the throne.(3) Mr. KOUCHI pointed out the motives of the original Crown Prince in the lead-up to the nine-day incident, but there are no historical records that can establish the truth about “GOSHIRAKAWA’s intentions.”(4) It was not a “fire due to negligence” but “arson” in the case of the SANJOUDONO (三条殿) fire during the nine-day incident. Retired emperors were moved to the Imperial Palace because of the “arson”, and the SHINZEI (信西) family’s influence was eliminated at the same time.(5) Evidence of GOSHIRAKAWA’s hatred of SHINZEI is thin.(6) The joint conspiracy to exclude the SHINZEI family continued until February 20th the following year.(7) There was no theory that clearly drew a connection in the rebel forces from NOBUYORI (信頼) to GOSHIRAKAWA. (8) The SHINZEI family’s isolation is due to the fact that the main characters in the nine-day incident were anti-SHINZEI groups. (9) The account of the incident was re-written 25 or 26 days afterwards, but this was not done to conceal GOSHIRAKAWA’s intentions but to water down the extent of TUNEMUNE (経宗) and KOREKATA’s (惟方) participation.

This study suggests that the patio is created the neighborhoods small space of the urban planning blocks in Eixample of Barcelona. The overall objective how to make a space for good relationship inside the patio of urban blocks. Most important regeneration strategy is layered a new passage below historical city plan and existing planned housing blocks, add new expand the area for the outside own housing.

It is possible to return livestock's urine to environment safely and to reuse it as resource through biological decomposition. Most of livestock's urine, however, is disposed of unsuitably, and it is regarded as one of prime causes of water pollution now. Since 1999,livestock farmers are obligated to dispose of livestock's urine suitably by law. In the other words, livestock farmers have to pay the cost of livestock's urine disposition. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the effects and problems of the recircular process of livestock's urine practiced in Kishima area Saga Prefecture. In Kishima area, livestock's urine is reused as liquid fertilizer with a kind of simple process, by which livestock's urine simply mixed with some phosphoric acid and silicone is used as one kind of liquid fertilizer in paddy fields. The merits of the disposition process to livestock farmers can be concluded as : firtly, the cost of livestock's urine disposition can be cut considerably, secondly, farmland can be reserved by recirclar use of livestock's urine, and thidly, the labor burdan bearing with livestock's urine disposition can be lightened greatly. As well the merits to cultivation farmers include : to lighten the labor burdan of fertilizer spreading, to cut the cost of the chemical fertilizer, to improve the quality of rice and to stabilize the yield of rice, to provide the high value-added agricultural products. The technique of recirclar use of the livestock's urine for the liquid fertilizer was developed from the viewpoint of intra-regional circular use. Therefore, it is hopeful to convert the social cost of environment conservation for the regional common benefits into farmer's individual cost economically by this way.

Unbeaten Tracks in Japanは1878年に来日した英国の女性旅行家イザベラ・バードの日本旅行記である。初版は1880年にロンドンのジョン・マレー社から出版されて当時のベストセラーとなった。これに対して、トーマス・W・ブラキストンとホーレス・ケプロンはそれぞれの著書で、厳しくイザベラ・バードの記述を批判した。 1885年にジョン・マレー社から初版の半分以上を削除した省略新版(『日本奥地紀行』)が出たが、日本では、この省略版が作られたのは、彼らの厳しい批判に配慮したものだとされてきた。 しかし、Unbeaten Tracks in Japanの省略版の計画は、初版刊行の前からあったことを証明する手紙が、ジョン・マレー社には保管されていた。また「統計を削除して冒険と旅行の本を作る」という省略版の目的の記述も見つかった。これらから彼らの批判と省略版の関係はあったのかという疑問が生じた。 そこで、本研究では彼らの批判箇所と省略版での削除箇所の関係を精査検討した。批判の対象となった記述が「覚書き」や「一般事項」などの説明的項目に含まれていて、一括して削除されたもののほかにも、個別の信書中にあってほとんど残されているものや、数項目の事項のうちの一つを削除したものなどもあり、批判箇所への対応には一貫性がみられなかった。 また、省略版では関西旅行や居留地などの西洋人のよく行く地域や日本の近代化を記した部分が削除されたが、そのほとんどは彼らの指摘とは関係がなかった。これらのことから、省略版は、ブラキストンらの批判に配慮した結果であるとはいえないとの結論に至った。 省略の結果として、当初の目的どおりに未踏の地の冒険と旅行の本として改編されて、UnbeatenTracks in Japanの題名に即した本になったといえる。

The Jutes are one of the Germanic tribes who migrated to Britain in the middle of the 5th century. According to Beda they came from the northern part of Jutland. Tacitus had also referred to them as Eudoses dwelling in the northern Jutland in his time. But in the old English poems such as Widsith and Beowulf we find them in the vicinity of the Frisian dominions in the 5th century, when they were about to migrate to Britain. So there are two views about the original home of the Jutes. One is Jutland and the other is Friesland. R. W. Chamber, one of the most eminent scholars in the history of Beowulfresearch, presented a voluminous book, which deals with many difficult problems about Beowulf He challenged to resolve them and established some important theories about it. His another book, concerning Widsith,explained the Germanic tribes in it minutely. Both in his two works he referred to the Jutes and developed his view exhaustively. This paper tries to survey the Chamber's two works and investigate his view about the Jutes. The Jutes have an important role in the fight at Finnsburg narrated in the Finn Episode in Beowulf So his view about them is concentrated upon it This paper attempts to grasp the significance of the Jutes' role in the Finn Episode and to clarify the reason why they are in Friesland. While consulting the Chambers' works it also examines the view of Fr. Klaeber who published the excellent edition of Beowulf and the Fight at Finnsburg. Finally it aims to search into the entity of the Jutes.
