円滑なコミュニケーションを行うために,話し手と聞き手との間の人間関係により,ことばの選択が行われる.本稿は,「相手との心理的距離感」をあまり感じさせない対人コミュニケーションについて,ブラウン&レヴィンソンの主としてポジティブ・ポライトネスおよび「フェイス侵害度」を理論的根拠として,日英語間に見られるコミュニケーションの差異についても念頭に置き考察を加えた.具体的な事例分析について,第1に着目した点は,相手との心理的距離を縮める呼称および人称代名詞である.第2点は相手との心理的距離を縮める付加疑問,命令文,および現在分詞などの文法構造である.そして,第3点目は,積極的表現,欠点を表明する表現,そして相手の視点から見る呼びかけ語を用いた表現について,日英語における表現の差異について分析を試みた.

[要旨]本稿は,20世紀初頭に馬車に代わって台頭した新たな交通手段を提供する乗り物としての自動車を,ジェンダー・イメージという角度から考察することを目的としている。手順としては,まず,20世紀初頭の自動車と比較する意味で,私的移動手段として19世紀まで一般的だった「馬車」について,主に形状にみる御者とそれ以外の乗客の関係を階級の面から考察する。馬車はその後,動力源を化石燃料に変えて自動車となり,デザインも変化していくが,その過程で馬車と用途の面でそれほど変わらないはずの自動車にジェンダー・イメージが付与された点を,当時,女性レーシングドライバーとして活躍したドロシー・レヴィットの著書を読み直しながら,20世紀初頭における自動車と女性の関係を考察する。[Abstract]This paper discusses how automobiles were perceived in terms of gender perspectives in the early 20th century. Traditionally, in the patriarchal order, women were excluded from the field of industrial technology, where only men were considered to be able to manage and deal with machines, including automobiles. When Dorothy Levitt became the idol of the car-racing world, her expected gender role was to assimilate her feminine beauty with the car she drove, so as to attract potential male buyers. However, while many were aware of her popularity based on femininity, Levitt, by writing a manual book for the potential female driver, insisted that women should also learn to drive themselves to have autonomy in mobility.

月の1日は地球の1日=24時間を単位とすると29.5日である。従って、月の昼は14.75日、夜は14.75日となり、月の赤道付近のレゴリスの温度は、昼は120度Cまで上昇し、夜は-180度C以下まで降下すると言われている。月面に軟着陸した探査機やローバが長期間その機能を維持するには、昼間の高温に耐えなければならないのは当然である。加えて、約15日間続く夜間を乗り越え、次の昼には活動を再開しなければならない。さて、現在我々が利用出来る機器は上記の厳しい温度環境に対し、どの程度の耐性を持っているのだろうか。高温側のデータは揃っていると言えるが、-180度Cという低温側のデータはほとんど無いというのが実情である。そこで、温度制御の出来る宇宙環境模擬装置を用いて、高真空の月面まで含めた月面環境試験を実施する事にした。

In 2020, online classes were widely held in many universities all over Japan because of the coronavirus crisis. The number of the online interviews held by corporations to recruit new staff also greatly increased. Online classes and interviews have not become unique but common over this single year. Many university students will work full-time after their graduation. They will take the online interviews for recruitment of corporations. It has become highly probable that the result of online business communication will hold influence on the course of their career. It is therefore meaningful to consider the communication skills especially needed in online interactions. In this paper, some differences between face-to-face communication and online interactions are described at first. Then, it is pointed out that the importance of verbal communication skills increases in online interactions from the view of performance studies. Social roles given to students and a new framework added to their performance in online interactions will be discussed. Finally, it will be clarified what kind of efforts can be made through a whole university approach to improvement of students'online business communication skills.
