The efficacy of hybrid assistive limb (HAL) rehabilitation in the acute phase of stroke remains unclear. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the outcomes of patients with acute intracranial hemorrhage (ICH) who were treated with or without HAL rehabilitation. Among 270 patients with acute ICH from 2009 to 2014, 91 patients with supratentorial ICH were included in this retrospective study. Of these, 14 patients (HAL group) received HAL rehabilitation at approximately 1 week after ICH occurrence, while the remaining 77 patients received usual rehabilitation without HAL (N-HAL group). We obtained various patient data from the hospitals where the patients were moved to for further rehabilitation. Statistical comparisons were performed for the characteristics of the ICH patients, and outcomes between the HAL and N-HAL groups. There were no differences in outcomes between the HAL and N-HAL groups. However, patients with right ICH in the HAL group exhibited a significant association with a functional independence measure (FIM) score of ≥ 110 compared with patients in the N-HAL group (HAL group: 81.8%, N-HAL group: 43.9%, P = 0.04). In patients with right ICH, HAL rehabilitation was associated with improved outcomes as evaluated by the FIM score. Thus, HAL rehabilitation may improve outcomes of acute ICH in appropriately selected patients.

我が国は超高齢社会を迎え,認知症患者数の増加は深刻な問題である.しかし認知症の根治的治療法は確立しておらず,患者の日常生活動作(activity of daily living:ADL)を低下させない新しい認知症治療薬が求められている.その中で,ADLを低下させずに認知症の症状を改善する漢方薬・抑肝散が脚光を浴び,主に幻覚,妄想,抑うつ,攻撃行動,徘徊などの行動・心理症状(behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia:BPSD)に使われている.しかし,その作用機序はよく分かっていない.そこで漢方薬である抑肝散の認知症治療薬としての科学的背景を明らかにすることが必要となった.我々は,抑肝散がメタンフェタミン投与による興奮モデル動物において自発運動の異常増加を抑制すること,単独隔離ストレスによる攻撃行動,幻覚モデルとしてのDOI投与による首振り運動,不安様行動,ペントバルビタール誘発睡眠の短縮や夜間徘徊モデルの明期の行動量増加のようなBPSD様の異常行動を有意に抑制することを明らかにした.また,8方向放射状迷路課題において,認知症モデル動物の空間記憶障害を改善することを見出した.記憶保持に重要な海馬において神経細胞死の抑制やアセチルコリン遊離作用が認められ,これらの作用によって抑肝散の中核症状に対する改善効果も期待できることが示唆された.さらに,中核症状,BPSDいずれにもNGFやBDNFなどの神経栄養因子の関与が注目されているが,抑肝散には神経栄養因子様作用や神経栄養因子増加作用があることが分かり,この作用も中核症状・BPSDの改善効果に寄与するものと考えられる.以上のことから,抑肝散は,認知症患者のBPSDならびに中核症状にも有効で,さらに他の神経変性疾患や精神神経疾患の治療薬としても応用が期待できることが示唆された.

スポーツや音楽分野でのエンタテイナーの実演を遠隔の視聴者にインターネット中継で送れるようになったが、視聴者が現場に対して送ることのできる情報は現状では文字に限られている。本研究は主にスポーツの応援を遠隔から送り、選手に伝え、また選手から更に反応を返すことができるシステムを構築して実際のプロスポーツ公式戦で運用評価し、選手から高い評価を得ることができた。一方視聴者からの評価にはまだ課題が多く今後の課題である。

Ultra-high luminance lamps emitting white light with a well-scattered blue spectrum from InGaN/GaN laser diodes and a phosphor-converted yellow spectrum show speckle contrast values as low as LED. Spectral behavior of the laser diodes is analyzed to find the reason why such low values are obtained. As a result, the PWM-driven, multi-longitudinal mode with dynamically broadened line-width is found to have a great effect on reducing speckle contrast. Despite using the lasers, such speckle-free lamps are considered to be very suitable for high-luminance and other various lighting applications.

日本では, 強盗・脅迫・不法侵入のような街頭犯罪は賞賛すべき低い率にあるが, ホワイト・カラー犯罪は高い率にある。日本文化の諸特徴が日本社会に見られる違法行為の水準を説明してくれると期待している者達は, 二つの犯罪率の食い違いによって試されている。本稿は, 日本社会の上層にいる者達の犯罪に関するエピソードを概観し, 街頭犯罪を抑制している共同体主義のエートスがこの国の商業や政治の領域にまでは及んでいないことを示す。The discrepancy in Japan between the admirably low rate of street crimes, such as robbery, assault, and burglary, and the elevated rate of white-collar offenses challenges those who look to the characteristics of Japanese culture to explain the levels of law-breaking in the society. The article reviews episodes of upperworld crime in Japan and suggests that the communitarian ethos that inhibits street offenses does not carry over into the country's commercial and political realms.

本論は,活動理論が高等教育における教育実践にどのような示唆を与えることができるかを探ることを目的とする.そのために,活動理論の中でもユーリア・エンゲストローム(ENGESTROM, Y.)の探究的学習理論に着目し,それに基づいた授業デザインおよび実践を行う.実践を担当した教員は,これまで最終的な行動目標から遡って教授内容を設計するインストラクショナルデザイン(ID)モデルに基づいて授業を開発してきたが,本研究では探究的学習理論に立脚したIDによって授業を設計・実践した.その結果,ゴールから遡る方法が,基本的な教授要素を認知的目標と対応させながら成長させていく授業設計方法に変化し,探究的学習理論の6段階のステップが教授方法の選択に影響を与えていることが確認できた.

食品用のプラスチック容器は食品衛生法の対象製品であり,特定成分についての溶出基準値はあるが,スチレンモノマー,ダイマー及びトリマーに関しては基準値の定めがない。しかし,スチレンダイマー及びトリマーは環境庁が外因性内分泌撹乱化学物質の調査対象としてリストアップしている物質の一つである。このため,日常的に使用されている食品容器からの溶出実態を把握するため,市販のカップめん容器(6検体),使い捨てプラスチックカップ(5検体)及びコンビニ弁当容器(2検体)を試料として,各溶媒に溶出するスチレンモノマー,ダイマー(4物質)及びトリマー(5物質)を,GC/MSにより分析した。その結果,溶媒がn-ヘプタンの場合,ダイマーが15.6~745ppb,トリマーが208~6110ppb,20%エタノールの場合,モノマーが0.11~1.5ppb,ダイマーが0.353~4.86ppb,トリマーが0.892~9.87ppb,水の場合,モノマーが0.14~2.6ppb,ダイマーが0.035~1.291ppb,トリマーがN.D.~2.666ppb溶出した。また,材質中に含まれる量も分析したところ,ダイマーが171~426ppm,トリマーが3260~12800ppm含まれていた。

[Purpose] The present study investigated the relationships of physical activity and healthiness with the intelligence quotients of high school students in Jeddah. [Subjects and Methods] A total of 135 male and female students were randomly drawn from public and private secondary schools in Jeddah. A self-designed questionnaire was distributed to the students that included demographic, physical activity, and health status sections. Body mass index measurement and an intelligence quotient test were carried out for all students. In addition, samples of blood were collected to estimate hemoglobin and serum iron. [Results] The highest proportions of males and females (39.1% and 51% respectively) had an intelligence quotient score of more than 75%. Moreover, the findings revealed that about 35% of the students were categorized as overweight obesity, and there was aninverse correlation between body mass index and physical activity. Students who shared physical education classes and exercising at and outside school showed a positive correlation with high IQ scores. Regarding hemoglobin and iron levels, there were significant correlations between their levels in blood and IQ. [Conclusion] The intelligence quotient of adolescent students is positively associated with physical activity and health status.
