本論文では,やわらかいネットワークの概念に基づくやわらかいビデオ会議システムの機能を提案し,その試作を通して,提案した機能を評価する.やわらかいビデオ会議システムは,家庭やオフィス等で用いられる小形コンピュータやインターネット/LAN等の,必ずしも資源が十分でない環境下において,一般利用者によるビデオ会議の利用時の負担を軽減することを目的としている.そこで,やわらかいビデオ会議システムは,1)利用者要求および計算機資源の状況に応じたシステムの自律的構成,2)会議中のQoSの自律的調整,および,3)システムの自律的再構成の機能を持つ.これらの機能を評価するために,マルチエージェント指向アーキテクチャを採用したやわらかいビデオ会議システムのプロトタイプを試作し,実験を行った.その結果,エージェント間の協調動作により,やわらかい機能が実現可能であることが確認され,提案した機能の有効性が検証された.In this paper,we propose the functions of a flexible videoconference system based on the concept of flexible network and evaluate the proposed functions by implementing a prototype of the flexible videoconference system.The flexible videoconference system aims to reduce the burden of the users under the operational environment with insufficient computational resources such as an internet/LAN environment with the small-scale computers at home and offices. To do so,the flexible videoconference system has the following three functions.i,e.,1)autonomous system generation based on both the users' requirements and the resource conditions,2)autonomous control of the QoS,and 3)autonomous system reconfiguration.To evaluate the proposed functions,we design and implement a prototype of the flexible videoconference system based on an agent-based architecture.According to an experiment on this prototype,we show that the proposed fuctions can be realized by the cooperation of various agents of the prototype,and the proposed functions can help the users effectively.

字幕付きのドラマや映画などを鑑賞する際,字幕が話者の顔から離れて表示されているため,字幕を読みながら話者の演技を集中して見ることが困難である.そこで本研究では吹き出しを話者の近辺に作成し,その内部に字幕を表示するシステムを開発した.話者を識別するために,顔検出の結果から唇領域の位置を推定し,唇の開閉状態を認識する.字幕は他の登場人物の顔領域に重ならないような適切な位置に表示する.15人の被験者に1分程度の会話シーンを本字幕表示方式と従来方式(字幕が常に画面中央下部に表示される方式)で視聴してもらい,本字幕表示方式の見易さをアンケートにより評価した.評価実験の結果,字幕が適切な位置に表示された場合には本字幕表示方式の方が見やすいということが確認できた.

Non si sa con precisione quando Dante si trasferi da Verona a Ravenna, secondo Boccaccio sembra che cio avvennisse verso il 1314, e Villani e della stessa opinione. Ad attrarlo dovette essere la citta : quieta, chiusa nelle memorie del suo glorioso passato, essa aveva qualcosa di tombale, che a Dante doveva piacere assai. Sepolcri di marmo erano sparsi sui sagrati delle sue cento chiese. E fra gli archi e le torri crescevano acacie e cipressi. C'erano monumenti solenni : la Porta Aurea, la basilica Ursiana con le sue cinque navate, Sant' Andrea dei Goti, la Chiesa palatina consacrata da Galla Placidia alla Santa Croce. Molti dicono che Dante venisse a Ravenna come lettore di retorica nello Studio, che Guido Novello curava in maniera del tutto particolare. E la cosa sembrerebbe confermata dall'epitaffio che poi Giovanni del Virgilio, contemporaneo del Poeta, fece iscrivere sul suo sepolcro : Theologus Dantes. A quei tempi, Theologus stava per professore, anzi per maestro. Dante, come abbiamo detto, non aveva titolo accademico per meritarsi di questa qualifica. Ad ogni modo una cosa e certa : che la fama di Dante a Ravenna era proprio quella del professore.

本論文では, 博物館, 街角, 学校, オフィス, 学会イベントなど, 興味, 趣味, 状況を共有する人が集まる場所での対面している人の間の出会いや対話を促進することを目的とした, エージェントサロンと呼ばれるシステムを紹介する. エージェントサロンは, 複数のユーザが同時に利用できるような大きなディスプレイをもっており, そこに, 各ユーザに帰属したパーソナルエージェントがキャラクタアニメーションとして表示され, それらが自動的に会話を始める. パーソナルエージェントは, 普段はPalmGuideと呼ばれる携帯ガイドシステム上で動作しており, 各ユーザの個人的興味やそれまでの行動履歴を管理しながら個人ガイドサービスを提供している. 各ユーザがPalmGuideをエージェントサロンに赤外線接続することで, パーソナルエージェントはそれらの個人情報と一緒にエージェントサロンに乗り移り, エージェント同士で自動的におしゃべりを始める. おしゃべりの内容は, 各ユーザの興味やそれまでの行動履歴に関する内容であり, ユーザに成り変わって, 互いの経験に基づいた意見交換を行ったり推薦を行ったりする. そのおしゃべりを聞いているユーザたちは, いわば以心伝心のように共通の話題を得ることができ, エージェントたちのおしゃべりに引き込まれるように, より価値のある会話を始めることが可能になると考える. 本論文では, 実際の会議の参加者サービスとして実装したエージェントサロンの, 動作説明と評価を行う.

This study was performed to explore the nature of readers' experiences with English-language newspapers in occupied Japan. Focusing on Nippon Times, an English-language paper managed by Japanese but controlled by the GHQ in 1945-1951, this study shows how global media, such as English papers, cause their writers and readers identify with their own culture and nationality. Originally, Nippon Times was established to improve Japanese international relations in 1897. After the Manchurian Incident in 1931, the paper was expected to function as Japanese propaganda but after World War II, it became a mouthpiece for the GHQ. However, the newsroom included multicultural staff such as Japanese-Americans, and under the censorship of the GHQ, they identified themselves as a medium to express themselves to GHQ on behalf of the Japanese people. During the occupation, the paper's main readership was the American military and their family members in Japan, but many Japanese people subscribed to study English. Articles about Japan in English functioned as instructive texts for students and some readers actively tried to express their opinions to an international audience. Some Japanese readers actively tried to translate their domestic opinions into international ones. Through the examination of such articles written by Japanese, Nippon Times was an educational medium enhancing Japanese identity, portraying an internationalized Japan.
