the purposes of the present paper were to examine the relations of narcissistic personality to Ss' present recollections concerning their parents' earlier attitudes and home environment. The Narcissistic Personality Inventory (NPI) revised by Miya-shita and Kamiji (1985), and three other questionnaires measuring mother's and father's attitudes together with the home environment were administered to 270 college students. Correlations were performed between NPI scores and the other three measures. The results showed that in case of females, a significant negative correlation was found between narcissism and the emotional acceptance of the mother : such result supported the theory of narcissism. In the case of male subjects a significant positive correlation was found between narcissism and the father's dominating attitude. With such a result, it was suggested that the father could not be neglected in the theory of narcissism.

When orally administered to rats, ^<14>C-labelled ethyl eicosapentaenoate (^<14>C-EPA-E) was hydrolyzed and, in the lymph, incorporated mainly into triglycerides (TG) in chylomicrons. In plasma and other tissues, eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and its metabolites, such as docosapentaenoic acid (DPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), were detected in TG and phospholipid fractions. In plasma, EPA and its metabolites were found to be integrated into lipoproteins. Tissue distribution of these metabolites showed characteristic patterns from one tissue to another, as did their compositional distribution in lipids. EPA, DPA and DHA were found to be metabolized via β-oxidation in in vitro experiments with mitochondrial fraction.

2010年4月、中国青海省のチベット人居住地区で大震災が発生した。ラルン五明仏学院(四川省色達県)は即座に救援隊を派遣し、医療を中心とした支援活動を展開した。本稿は救援隊に参加した漢人信徒の手記にもとづき、ソーシャル・キャピタルと中国政府の新たな宗教政策という2 つの視点から、チベット仏教組織が行った社会貢献活動の内容と意義を明らかにする。

本稿では、ダライ・ラマ14 世の諸々の発言から、「宗教と社会貢献」にかんする見解を浮き彫りにすることを目的としている。ダライ・ラマ14 世は「宗教」(religion)と「スピリチュアリティ」(spirituality)とを区別しつつ「普遍的宗教」(universal religion)がすべての人々に必要であるとした。その核心は「利他心」である。また、彼のいう利他主義は、は「賢明な自己利益」(wise self-interest)という言葉によって特徴づけられるものであり、他者の利益の実現のうちに自己利益を見出すものである。

本稿はプロミスキーパーズという名称のキリスト教系ホームレス支援NPOのケーススタディを通して日本のFaith-Related Organization の志向性に焦点をあてる。プロミスキーパーズは活動開始当初、教会としてホームレス支援をしていたが、活動のための資源を多元化するためにNPO となった。そうすることで、プロミスキーパーズはホームレスに対して様々な支援を提供することが可能となり、沖縄で最も信頼されるホームレス支援組織となった。プロミスキーパーズは内部の結束力の強い教会を基盤にしながら、外部に開かれたNPOとして活動している。すなわち、プロミスキーパーズは結束型ソーシャル・キャピタルと橋渡し型ソーシャル・キャピタルの双方を内在させているのである。近年、「宗教の社会貢献」が社会的に学問的に要求されているが、本稿の事例は宗教の新たな社会参加のモデルを考察する一助となるだろう。

This essay attempts to analyze the relations between the Ainu and the Japanese by tracing the changing names given to the Ainu by the Japanese. The framework utilized here is the dynamic interaction between the naming side and the named. The Japanese named the Ainu Kyu-dojin, meaning former native, at the beginning of the Meiji Era. The Ainu hated to be identified as Kyu-dojin because of the term's other meanings, savage and uncivilized. Furthermore, the negative connotations associated with Kyu-dojin affected the word Ainu as well. The words Utari, originally an Ainu word meaning comrade, and Ainu-kei, meaning Japanese of Ainu lineage, were later used in order to avoid direct identification of the Ainu people. A typical example was the change of the Ainu peoples association's name from Ainu Kyokai to Utari Kyokai. A reawakening in pride for the original meaning of the word Ainu, human, has led some in the community to call themselves Ainu again. The name of the majority Japanese, i.e., Nihonjin, Wajin, or Shamo, who are usually insensitive to their own and the minority's names, should be questioned as well, in order to be conscious of their identity building in relation with others.
