This study aimed to investigate relationships between the use of time in daily life and the attitude of university students towards vocation, schoolwork, and self. The participants were 269 university freshmen (107 males, 161 females, and I unknown). They were asked how they spent their time in a day. Two or three groups were identified according to the time spent for each activity. Tests on the differences between the means revealed the following: (a) Considering the time spent for ‘studying at home’, ‘working part-time’, ‘playing with friends’, ‘sleeping’, and ‘doing other activities’, the students7 ‘awareness of personality’ was different. (b) Given the time spent for ‘working part-time’ and ‘playing with friends’, the students’ ‘views about one’s future career’ were different. (c) On the basis of the time spent for ‘studying at home’, the students’ ‘thoughts on the abilities that one expects to acquire through university life’ wee different. Thus, the results indicated that the use of time in daily life was related to one’s attitude towards vocation, schoolwork, and self.

The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of the step-by-step practice and the simplified seoi-nage on the safe practice of judo by novices. Participants were 18 students who attended a college judo class. Trials in the experiment were composed of two kinds of the conditions, which were seoi-nage without the step-by-step practice, and seoi-nage after practicing the three steps. After the trials, participants answered a five-point scale questionnaire asking how they felt when they were thrown or threw. Binomial tests demonstrated that high head fixation was significantly greater than low head fixation on any conditions. This finding suggests that simplified skill and step-by-step practice are effective for head fixation of thrown participants. Measurements of the degree of head fixation revealed an effect of step-by-step practice (two-way ANOVA, F1, 17 = 3.676, p = 0.07), but ANOVA did not detect an effect of holding, nor interaction between the step-by-step practice and holding. This finding suggests that step-by-step practice is effective on head fixation of thrown participants. Results imply that simplified skill and step-by-step practice of seoi-nage are effective safe practice of novices at judo. The findings of this study will contribute to plan the safe and easy practice for instructing novices at judo.

学校現場で行われている食育に関する様々な取り組みの中で、毎日繰り返し行われる「給食の時間」での指導は、極めて重要な役割を担っている。そこで、学校現場での給食指導の実態の把握を目的に調査を行った。その結果、給食指導における一番の課題は偏食に関する指導であることが明らかになった。偏食の課題は多様なため、指導方法の一般化が困難であり、給食指導マニュアルへの記載もほとんどなかった。アンケート調査および文献から偏食指導の事例を収集したところ、その手法は様々であった。今後は、教員個人の経験や能力に左右されず、すべての教員が効果的な偏食指導を行うため、様々な事例の蓄積とデータの共有が重要になると考えられる。

本稿の目的は、学修支援活動に携わる学生スタッフの変容プロセスを仮説的に解明することである。この目的を達成するため、4 人の学生スタッフに対するインタビュー調査を行った。学生の変容プロセスについて解明された諸点のうち、特に重要な点は以下のとおりである。1) 学修支援活動への参画経験は、学修への関わり方を含めた学生の学生生活の様々な側面に影響を与えていた。これらの影響は、大学のカリキュラムの特性を踏まえ、主体的な学修しようとする姿勢を涵養していたという点において、特筆すべき成果といえる。2) 学生スタッフは、大学のカリキュラム、組織や運営などの仕組み、職員に対する理解など、多様な側面から大学に対する理解を深めることによって、学生という立場から大学に対してコミットメントを図ろうとしていた。言い換えれば、彼らは学生として期待される役割、すなわち大学コミュニティの一員としての役割を認識し、その役割を遂行しようとしていた。今後の課題としては、調査対象者や支援領域を拡大し、本稿において仮説的に導出した変容プロセスの検証を行う必要がある。This study investigates the learning and development process of student staff members who help other students by performing academic advising activities. The study conducted semi-structured interviews with four student staff members, and analyzed the interview data using the Modified Grounded Theory Approach. The major findings regarding the student learning and development process are as follows: 1) The experience as participants in academic advising activities had a positive influence on several aspects of student staff members’ campus life, including their learning style. This outcome implies that the experience promotes self-directed learning based on the characteristics of their universities’ curriculum. This finding is a remarkable outcome of student participation in academic advising. 2) Student staff members enhanced their commitment to their universities through deepening their understanding of the universities’ curriculum, organization, administration, and professional staffs, i.e., they recognized that their expected role as a student represents membership in the university community, and they began attempting to perform that role.
