マイクロブログとして世界で最も使われているTwitter のAPI を利用して発言を19,409件収集し、発言頻度やフォロー関係などを日本語利用者と英語利用者の間で比較した。その結果、次のような知見が得られた。(1) 日本語利用者は、フォロワー、フレンドの数は英語利用者よりも少ない。(2) 日本語利用者は発言頻度が多く、「お気に入り(like)」を使う頻度も多い。(3) 日本語利用者は、フォロー関係の相互性が高く、さらにフォロー数の多い人ほど相互性が高い傾向がある。こうした特徴は、日本人利用者の文化的特性を何らかの形で反映していると考えられ、利用者の動機など心理学的な視点からの比較研究が今後の研究課題となる。

This paper shows the meaning of the word 'career education', by focusing on the report from Central Council of Education 'About the Connection between Primary, Secondary Education and Higher Education', which was released on December 16th 1999. Today, 'career education'is widely implemented in school education, from primary education to higher education. However, when seeing the detailed contents of 'career education', several points that weren't seen when 'career education'started are seen, and the original meaning of 'career education'is likely to be forgotten. So, this paper indicates the original meaning of 'career education', by examining the report shown above. Since the report is widely said to be a starting point of 'career education', this paper examines the report as a main tool of analysis.

This paper analyzes three memoirs written by David P. Conyngham, William Corby and St. Clair A. Mulholland who joined the Irish Brigade which served in the Union Army in order to investigate how the Irish immigrants memorized the Civil War. The Irish Brigade was authorized in September 1861 thanks to the assistance of the Irish community in New York, and originally consisted of the 63rd, 69th and 88th New York regiments comprised predominantly of Irish immigrants. Under the command of Thomas F. Meagher, one of the Young Ireland in exile, the Irish Brigade fought many fierce battles, but virtually ceased to operate as a brigade after the battle of Fredericksburg, where the unit suffered fearsome casualties, because of having trouble in enlisting recruits. // Conyngham intended to leave behind him the “correct memories” of the Irish Brigade, which were characterized by Irish soldiers’ supreme loyalty to the Union and the oblivion of the Emancipation Proclamation and the Draft Riots. Corby added the solidarity among all the Christian soldiers to Conyngham’s “correct memories” because he was concerned about the revival of nativism caused by floods of new immigrants in the late 19th century and the decline of Liberals in the Catholic Church and intended to appeal for religious tolerance. Mulholland added the memory of the solidarity between born Americans and immigrants in the battlefields because he intended to reveal the role of immigrants in the American society in order to resist nativism.

This study uses repeated cross-sectional data from 1982 to 2007 to understand labor force behavior of Japanese men, focusing on the increase in non-regular employment. I find that regular employment fell significantly for recent cohorts of less-educated men. Regular employment of single men and less-educated married men responded more to the business cycle than did regular employment of highly educated married men. Cohorts who finished their schooling in the late 1990s and early 2000s experienced a severe decline in regular employment at young ages, although this phenomenon was mainly observed among single men and not among married men.

戦前はジャーナリスト,戦後直後は労働運動指導者として知られた鈴木東民(1895-1979)は,1955年以降,3期12年にわたって釜石市長をつとめた.本稿は,釜石市長としての鈴木東民の仕事を,歴史的な視点から再評価することを課題としている.鈴木東民市政の力点は,道路や学校など地域社会の基盤整備と,広報等を通じての,市民間の交流と対話の空間の創出にあった.本稿ではこれらの政策を,<地域に根ざした福祉政治>,および<開かれた土着主義>として分析する.本稿の最終目的は,釜石市にとってだけでなく,およそ近代日本史における鈴木東民とその市政の意義を再評価することにある.

6 0 0 0 OA 歴史オントロジー構築のための史料からの人物情報抽出
本研究の目的は、歴史資料(史料)を対象に歴史知識の構造化の基盤となる「歴史オントロジー」を構築するシステムを開発し、広く提供することによって歴史学の発展に寄与することにある。この目標を具体的に検証するために、昭和15年に時の帝国学士院において始められた明治前日本科学史の編纂成果である『明治前日本科学史』(刊本全28巻)の全文を日本学士院の許諾の下に電子化し、明治前の日本の科学技術を創成してきた科学技術者に関する属性および業績の情報を抽出することにより、前近代日本の人物情報データベースの構築を試みる。人物の属性として人名とそれに対する役職名と地名を、人物の業績として人名とそれに対する書名を、いずれもパターンマッチングなどのルールベースの手法によって抽出する。『明治前日本科学史総説・年表』を対象とした性能評価を行った結果、人名、人名とその役職名、および人名とその地名について、F値で0.8を超える結果が得られた。

This paper aims at reconsidering the postwar history of public libraries in Japan from the standpoint of ‘ local collection ’(kyodoshiryo). It examines (1) the general development of the ‘local collection’ activities at public libraries from the 1950s to the 1960s, and (2) the specific activities of Santama Working Group for Local Collections (Santama Kyodoshiryo Kenkyukai) from 1975 to 1999./ As a result of this study, it became clear that Mr. Ichiro Aoki (1913-2004) who had been the director of Niitsu City Library (Niigata Pref.) from 1951-71, by instructing the local librarians in Santama area (Tokyo) how to handle the local collection, played an influential role in forming the Santama Working Group for Local Collections that started a new era in the ‘ local collection ’ activities at public libraries in the 1970s.
