Medium-chain fatty acids (MCFA) have attracted attention as part of a healthy diet, because they are absorbed and transported directly into the liver via the portal vein, metabolized rapidly by β-oxidation, and increase diet-induced thermogenesis. Because medium-chain triacylglycerols (MCT) containing only MCFA has a few weak points as frying oils, we have developed medium- and long-chain triacylglycerols (MLCT). MLCT is produced by lipase-catalyzed enzymatic transesterification. Recently, long-term clinical trials have demonstrated that MLCT and MCT result in less body fat-deposition. MLCT oil (Trade name: Healthy Resseta) is safe and can be substitute for common edible vegetable oils. Healthy Resseta has been approved as FOSHU (Food for Specified Health Use), by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare of Japan in December 2002 for use as a cooking oil with a suppressing effect on body fat accumulation. <p>家庭飼育下のシマリスが顕著な精巣の腫大を示した.外科的に摘出された精巣腫瘤について病理組織学的に検索したところ,腫瘤は多角形細胞のシート状増殖より構成されており,精上皮腫と診断された.奇怪な単核もしくは多核巨細胞や異常有糸分裂像などの明らかな異型性を示しており,また,腫瘍細胞は精巣被膜を越えて周囲組織へ浸潤しており,潜在的に悪性の腫瘍と考えられた.リス科動物における精巣腫瘍の発生報告は乏しく,筆者らの知る限り,本例はシマリスにおける精上皮腫の初めての報告である.</p>

1997年11月,ソニーがB5ファイル・サイズのノート機「PCG-505」でノート・パソコン市場に参入し,その薄さで人気を集めた。これを受けて東芝がB5ファイル・サイズで厚さ19.8mm,重さが1.19kgの「Dynabook SS 3000」を,三菱がA4ファイル・サイズで厚さ18mm,重さ1.45kgの「Pedion」を投入するなど,薄型・軽量をウリにしたノート機が続々と登場した。

空間単位の集計化が空間的相互作用モデルに対し及ぼす影響については,従来,集計単位の画定に関する定義問題が中心に論じられ,かっ,経験的データを用いた感度分析研究に限定されてきた.それに対し,本稿では,流動の距離逓減性を示す距離パラメターの集計バイアスを,空間単位間の距離の定義との関係において理論的に考察した.その結果,空間単位の集計化に伴う距離パラメターのバイアスは系統的な方向を示し,それは集計距離の定義(平均距離ないし平均移動距離)によって異なることが予想された.<br> この予想を検討するために,1988(昭和63)年度の東京PT調査のデータによって, Huffモデルの空間単位集計化の感度分析を行ない,次のような結果を得た.(1)距離パラメターの集計バイアスの方向は,集計距離の定義,および流動の距離逓減傾向の強さによって異なり,それは理論的に期待される方向と一致した.(2)平均移動距離の利用は,適合度,距離パラメターのバイアスの小ささ,距離パラメターの各スケールでの代表性の各点で,平均距離を利用する場合に比べ優れていた.(3)集計空間単位の形のコンパクトさを考慮することが距離パラメターのスケール変化を小さくし,それは理論的にも解釈されうるものであった.

Anaplastic large T-cell lymphoma (ALTCL) is rarely reported in domestic animals. Accordingly, the histopathological and immunohistochemical characteristics of ALTCL have not been well established in prairie dogs. The present report documents three cases in which prairie dogs were diagnosed with ALTCL arising in the subcutaneous tissue, oral mucosa or the mesenteric lymph nodes. Of the three cases, one was available for necropsy and the others were biopsy cases. Microscopically, moderate to large, pleomorphic neoplastic lymphocytes with ovoid to polygonal, bizarre-shaped nuclei, abundant cytoplasm and eosinophilic granules were seen in all cases. Immunohistochemical staining revealed membranous or cytoplasmic CD3 expression of the neoplastic lymphocytes. The neoplastic cells often had granzyme B-positive cytoplasmic granules. One of the prairie dogs with nodal ALTCL suffered systemic dissemination of the tumor and died suddenly. In the two biopsy cases, one animal died on the day of the biopsy examination and the other died six weeks after chemotherapy. ALTCL in prairie dogs displays a cytotoxic T cell phenotype and presumably carries a poor prognosis regardless of the anatomical type.

太宰治(一九〇九―一九四八)の『斜陽』(一九四七)は、日本の敗戦後に出版され、当時多くの反響を呼んだ作品である。本稿では、かず子の手記の物語過程と、作品中に頻出している蛇に関する言説を中心に作品を読み直し、『斜陽』におけるかず子の「恋と革命」の本質の探究を試みた。
