Coal provides about 40 % of total world primary energy supply now. Coal is one of the most available, affordable and accessible energy resources both in terms of sustainable supply as well as economy. Coal is carbon-intensive fuel and emits a significant amount of carbon dioxide to the atmosphere per unit of heat energy. So it is important to develop coal utilization technologies to minimize environmental impact, so called "Clean Coal Technology". Coal production and consumption trends in the world are changing due to fluctuations in coal prices, policies of governments of various countries, and so on.

In the process of electrorefining of copper, application of higher current density increases the tendency of anode passivation. The passivation disrupts the sound operation of the electrorefining process, reducing the current efficiency and the quality of copper deposited on the cathode. Therefore, anode passivation should be avoided in industrial electrolytic cells. Anode passivation is attributed to the precipitation of copper sulfate, which is saturated locally in the vicinity of the anode surface. When a copper anode contains high concentrations of insoluble impurities that form slime on the anode surface, the tendency of anode passivation increases. Because e-waste often contains such elements that induce anode passivation as well as the harmful elements from the concentrate, the operation of the electrorefining process becomes difficult when the feeding ratio of secondary materials (scraps) is increased. To promote the recycling of metals and reduce energy consumpution in the process, it is essential to develop a passivationprevention technology for low-grade copper anodes. This article outlines the physicochemical basis of anode passivation and reviews earlier research with a focus on experimental techniques. Past research on anode passivation of pure Cu anodes, which was carried out to understand the precipitation of copper sulfate quantitatively, is also reviewed to explain the relationship between passivation and current density.

Reduction melting methods to remove Pb from lead silicate glasses such as cathode ray tube funnel glass have been extensively studied. In this paper, reduction melting of a model lead glass was conducted using printed circuit board as reductant. Model lead silicate glass, viscosity reducing agent (Na2CO3), and printed circuit board were mixed and melted at 1473 K. Metal phase mainly composed of Pb was formed and settled in the melting glass residue. With increasing printed circuit board addition, the amount of metal phase increased and the concentrations of PbO remained in the glass residue decreased, indicating that addition of printed circuit board is effective to remove Pb from the Pb glass. By EDS analysis, it was confirmed that Cu, Ni and Sn are contained in the metal phase, indicating that metals in printed circuit board are recovered with Pb.

We herein report the cytokine expression at different stages for three patients who developed cardiac complications after immune checkpoint inhibitor (ICI) therapy. Patient 1 with biopsy-proven myocarditis showed increased levels of interleukin (IL)-8, monocyte chemotactic and activating factor, and granulocyte macrophage colony-stimulating factor (GM-CSF) when he developed Takotsubo cardiomyopathy. Patient 2 with subclinical myocarditis showed predominant activation of IL-8 during the progressive clinical course. Patient 3 with cytokine-releasing syndrome showed substantial activations of IL-6, IL-8, GM-CSF, and interferon-γ. Our data suggest the development of unique cytokine activation in individual patients with cardiac complications after ICI therapy.

要旨: 難聴乳幼児のコミュニケーションの基礎の形成や良好な発達のためには, 保護者, 中でも母親の役割が重要である。本研究では, 難聴乳幼児を育てる上での母親の育児ストレスの実態について調査, 分析し, 必要とされる早期教育支援について検討した。 母親の育児ストレスに関する8項目からなる独自の質問紙を作成し, 難聴乳幼児を育てる母親17名に記入してもらい, そのストレス得点, 及び年齢, 聴力程度, その他の要因から分析した。その結果, 精神的苦悩, 将来への不安が顕著に高く, 社会的孤立, 家族和合の欠如が顕著に低かった。またストレス得点と年齢, 聴力, KIDS 発達指数, 相談室での相談期間, 兄姉の有無からの比較では, 有意な関係はみられなかった。 これらの結果より, 難聴乳幼児を育てる母親の育児ストレスは, 様々な要因により出現している可能性があり, 明確な要因の抽出は困難であると推測された。このため, 早期教育支援においては, 対象児の個別性に配慮した支援の必要性があると考えられた。

It is widely held that the life-cycle hypothesis of consumption is not accepted by Japanese data. However, this view is not founded on firm evidence. In this paper, the life-cycle hypothesis of consumption is tested using cohort data instead of cross-section data. Consumption function of Ghez-Becker type is applied to our data. The hypothesis is proven to be accepted.

This paper discusses the effect of inclusions on internal fracture in skew rolling. The prediction of internal fractures is crucial given that internal fractures cause loss of product strength and are difficult to detect. Our previous report, published in 2019, proposed a new ductile fracture criterion that considers the effect of shear stress on void coalescence in a cylindrical coordinate system. This paper covers the following three points: (1) the evaluation of the hot workability of materials with different inclusions in tensile testing, (2) the relationship between the hot workability and the damage value determined using the proposed criterion, and (3) the effect of inclusions on void evolution in skew rolling. Given that the critical damage value decreased with decreasing hot workability, internal fractures are more likely to occur in a material that contains numerous large inclusions. The experimental results led to the hypotheses that the plastic strain nucleates the voids originating from inclusions and that shear stress allows the voids to coalesce. This study has demonstrated that decreasing the diameter and number density of inclusions is effective toward suppressing internal fractures.

In the late 19th century America, Swedenborgianism and Buddhism was not an exceptional combination among some esoteric thinkers. Philangi Dasa, who published the first Buddhist journal in America, was a Swedenborgian and wrote a book titled Swedenborg the Buddhist. Albert J. Edmunds, who co-authored a book on Buddhism and Christianity with Anesaki Masaharu, let Suzuki know Swedenborgianism while the latter worked for the Open Court Publishing Company. Around 1890 Japanese progressive Buddhists looked for help in the West and found some “Buddhists”, who really were Theosophists or esotericists. Dasa’s articles on Swedenborgianism and Buddhism were translated into Japanese and appeared on Buddhist journals. So Swedenborg came to be known as a kind of Buddhist philosopher among Japanese Buddhists. When we take into consideration those historical facts, it is not strange that Daisetz T. Suzuki translated four books by Swedenborg and wrote a biography of him from 1910 to 1915. In addition he made a short speech at the Swedenborg Society in 1912, in which he claimed himself a Swedenborgian. In this paper those historical backgrounds of Suzuki’s commitment to Swedenborgianism are analyzed, and the creativity of Suzuki’s interpretation of the law of correspondence is discussed.

It is well known that Tanabe Hajime (1885-1962) considered individuals’ praxis as a core concept of his philosophy. This paper aims to clarify the nature of individuals’ praxis especially in his philosophy of religion: “metanoetics” (1944-1953). For this purpose, we have to go back to the works before “metanoetics,” as Tanabe did not explain about praxis in detail during “metanoetics.” In other words, the definition of praxis is formed in a dialectic manner and we need to trace the definitions of praxis. “Metanoetics” is a standpoint which emerged from critically reexamining of the “logic of species.” In the “logic of the species,” which sticks to being rational, individuals’ praxis is considered as obedience to the state, especially during 1939-1941. Anyhow, in “metanoetics” being rational was no longer a requirement for individuals’ praxis. In “metanoetics,” individuals recognize the operation of the Absolute which lies behind the historical world and saves them, and regard what exists in society as means of salvation by the Absolute. Therefore, individuals accept every incident as means of the Absolute to lead them to salvation, so that they can react freely to it. Such free reaction is regarded as individuals’ praxis in “metanoetics.”

This paper aims to elucidate the content and position of the eschatology which he emphasized, and to clarify the features of Tanabe Hajime’s understanding of Christianity, based on his work “Demonstration of Christianity”. The following three points are the characteristics of Christianity considered by Tanabe; (1) Christianity is a religion that carries out social practice in its essence, (2) Christianity can and should avoid the identity which originates from the personal god, who is a existence, by relying on the “absolute nothingness” introduced from Buddhism. (3) Christianity is a religion that has historical concreteness in its structure. In particular, the unique interpretation of the eschatology by Tanabe is considered to be the key concept of his religious philosophy that leads to the social practice he aimed at. According to Tanabe, the eschatology is seen as mediation for the transformation between ethics and religion based on history. In other words, the eschatology is a dialectic that absolutely denies this world, and the structure of eschatology directs humans to change the value of the moral custom and to create new societies. In addition, Tanabe argues that Christianity is mediated by the reason of Marxism based on the dialectics that serve as negative mediation between religion and reason. In this way, Christianity is given concreteness about what to do as a social practice in a particular era on history.

Tanabe Hajime (1885-1962) started developing his philosophy of religion, which he dubbed “philosophy as metanoetics,” from late 1944 by critically reexamining his earlier idea of the “logic of species” (1934-41). Therefore, his “philosophy as metanoetics” inherited the basic scheme of the “logic of species.” Tanabe deemed the concept of “species,” which was central to his philosophy, an essential element of salvation. This paper aims to reveal the connection between “logic of species” and “philosophy as metanoetics” by clarifying the structure of salvation in Tanabe’s social ontology. For this purpose, this paper focuses on how one becomes a “true individual” and what the latter is. In “logic of species,” one becomes a “true individual” through the inner disruption of species to which it belongs. In “philosophy as metanoetics,” when one faces the antinomy of duties in species, “nothingness-qua-love” converts from one to “true individual.” This paper connects the moment of becoming “true individual” of “logic of species” with that of “philosophy as metanoetics” by showing that the antinomy of duties in species is caused by the inner disruption of species. Moreover, this paper elucidates the nature of a “true individual.” Its nature is characterized by matter and form of the species to which it belongs and by “nothing-qua-love.”

(1) Das ,Leben Christi‘ stellt das Grundthema der „Deutschen Theologie“ dar. In unsrer ganzen Abhandlung—(l) und (2)—soll es nun geklärt werden, welchen Sinn die Hölle fürs oder im ,Leben Christi‘ hat. Nach einer Erwähnung davon, wie Eckhart und Tauler in ihren Predigten von der Hölle handeln, erklären wir den Grund der Höllenauffassung bei der „Deutschen Theologie“, warum diese in des Menschen eigenem Willen den Kern oder das Wesen der Hölle findet. Bei der Beziehung der Hölle mit dem ,Leben Christi‘ kann man drei Stufen unterscheiden. Auf der ersten Stufe findet sich die Hölle ganz als Gegenteil vom ,Leben Christi‘,und auf der zweiten läßt sie sich ins ,Leben Christi‘ hereinnehmen, was Gottes Lassen (nicht Verlassen) der Menschenseele in die Hölle hinunter besagt. (2) Mit einem vergotteten bzw. göttlichen Menschen, der aus der Hölle oben in den Himmel eingenommen worden ist, entsteht die dritte Stufe. Die „Deutsche Theologie“ unterscheidet bei dem vergotteten Menschen drei Seinsweisen mit wechselseitiger Übergangsmöglichkeit: Im-Himmel-sein, In-der-Hölle-sein und In-der-Zeit (Welt)-sein. Diese könnten in der Reihenfolge als Heiliger-sein, Sünder-sein und Laie-sein bezeichnet werden. Anschließend an kurze Zusammenfassung dieser drei Stufen kommt dann der Versuch, bei Luther, Weigel und Arndt einen Zusammenhang mit der Höllenauffassung der „Deutschen Theologie“ zu finden. Zum Schluß ergibt es sich auch, daß ihre eigenartige Höllenauffassung für die „Deutsche Theologie“ charakteristisch ist.

Diagnoses of the role of religion in contemporary life are nothing new. Since the beginning of the modern era, as the plausibility of Christianity was increasingly questioned and the general concept of religion became popular, religious diagnosis of the time (Zeitdiagnose) played an important role as a narrative form and as a discursive means to re-define and re-imagine the realm of religion. Contemporary debates about the ‘de-religionizing’ or ‘post-secular’ age also follow this tradition. Naturally, the conclusions reached as a result of such diagnoses and any subsequent reformulation of religion will vary in accordance with the normative position of the subject and with the social and religious changes that occur under modernity. In this paper I discuss the Zeitdiagnose of two thinkers, Friedrich Schleiermacher (1768-1834) and Georg Simmel (1858-1918). Although they are separated by a century and thus belong to different ages, their diagnoses reveal both commonalities and differences in terms of their evaluation of Christianity and in their respective vision of the future form of religion. A century later, a reassessment of their diagnoses sheds light on our own contemporary religious situation and on the plausibility of our views of that condition.

Den Begriff der Religion als Reife der Vernunft darstellend, beschreibt Levinas den Glauben als das, was durch das Wissen angetrieben wird. Indem er andererseits versucht, den Begriff der Religion von allen Arten der Mystifikation zu befreien, betrachtet er ihn als „Beziehung ohne Beziehung“, die über die Glaubensfähigkeit des Subjekts hinausgeht und sich dadurch jenseits von allem möglichen Wissen offenbart. Diese Verflochtenheit zwischen Glauben und Wissen spiegelt sich in der Inkompatibilität zwischen dem Glauben an die bedingungslose Gnade und dem vernünftigen Bemühen wider, die er in seiner Lektüre von Synhedrin in den „Messianischen Texten“ behandelt. Dieses Paradox deckt sich mit der Kantischen Antinomie aus Die Religion innerhalb der Grenzen der bloßen Vernunft, wo er eine Versöhnung von Glauben und Wissen durch das Paradox des radikalen Bösen sucht. Mit der Unterscheidung von zwei Arten der Selbstkritik des Wissens, die in Totalität und Unendlichkeit eingeführt wurden, die eine den Umfang und die andere die Existenz eines solchen Territoriums betreffend, stellt Levinas die Rechtmäßigkeit der Selbstkritik als Limitation des Wissens infrage, die dem Wissen ein Territorium schafft. Die Levinassche Versöhnung zwischen Glauben und Wissen beginnt demnach mit einer vertikalen Bewegung der Vernunft, die sich so vollkommen kritisiert, dass sie sich dadurch selbst aller Territorialität beraubt.

本研究の目的は、ポール・リクールの論文「希望による自由」(1969)で提示された、「根元悪」をめぐる解釈の独自性を示すことにある。われわれはまず、リクールが採用する方法的態度としての「哲学者のアプローチ」という観点から、論文全体の構成を示し、次に、この論文に固有の問題系を、根元悪という問題を軸として明らかにする。 根元悪をめぐるリクール的解釈の独自性は、通常、『実践理性批判』の分析論との関係で理解される根元悪という概念を、『純粋理性批判』および『実践理性批判』の弁証論との関係で理解する点にある。それによって、最高善の実現を要求する実践的主体が不可避的に陥る倒錯を、人間の理性が不可避的に陥る超越論的仮象の一環として、いわば、カント的批判の遂行動機に立ち返って理解しようとする点にある。この根深い仮象にまつわるさらなる倒錯を、リクールは、根元悪と呼ぶのである。リクール的意味における根元悪という問題の問題性は、まさにこの、倒錯的仮象としての悪という点に存しているのである。 しかし他方で、根元悪をめぐるリクール的解釈の第一の意義は、あくまで従来の解釈との接点を保持しつつ、カントの根元悪概念がもつ本来の奥行きに光を当てようとした点にある。リクール的解釈の第二の意義は、二つの弁証論との関係で理解される根元悪を、国家や教会によって組織的に引き起こされる倒錯として規定することによって、たとえば、同じく現代フランスの哲学者、エマニュエル・レヴィナスが暴力という術語で言い表そうとした事態を、西洋哲学史上の、より緻密な問題系の内に置く可能性を与えた点にある。われわれは、この第二の点が、レヴィナスとの思想的対話において、重要な示唆を与えることになるという見通しを立てている。

Selon Plotin, l’émanation de l’Un est à la fois la procession de l’être et celle de la conscience. Le but de cet article est de réfléchir sur notre consciense religieuse en reconstruisant l’émanation plotinienne comme déroulement de la conscience. L’Un transcende la cognition, mais il n’est pas ce qui est inconscient. Il a une “simple intuition de soi” qui ne l'objective pas lui-même. L’Intellect qui vient d’être engendré à partir de l’Un est appelé “la vision qui ne voit pas encore”. Il va voir ensuite l’Un en se retournant vers Lui et est déterminé comme la vision qui voit, à savoir l’Intellect pensant. L’Intellect est donc engendré par la vision réflexive qui procède de l’Un et qui le voit en se retournant, et par cette contemplation il y a une dualité du sujet et de l’objet. Néanmoins ce sujet est encore un avec son objet et la cognition de l’Intellect est la pensée de soi-même. L’âme est engendrée de la même façon par la vision qui procède de l’Intellect et qui le voit en se retournant. La caractéristique de la cognition de l’âme est d’être discursive. Les êtres corporels sont dits également être engendrés par la contemplation de la nature (la partie inférieure de l’âme du monde) qui voit elle-même. Au niveau du corps, l’objet est complètement séparé du sujet, et en étant dans les corps, nous percevons par des organes des sens les objets sensibles qui se trouvent hors de nous-mêmes. L’union de notre conscience avec l'Un se réalise par la remontée de ce chemin, c'est-à-dire par une sorte de contemplation réflexive. Nous nous retournons vers l’Un, en nous retournant vers nous-mêmes. Après l’union avec l’Un, en descendant vers la région inférieure et en nous rappelant notre propre expérience de l’Un, nous pensons sur Lui et parlons de Lui, bien qu’il transcende lui-même la pensée et la parole.
