最近の日本の流通小売業にとって、営業時間延長は売上高を増やすための最も効果的な方策の一つとして用いられている。しかし、営業時間延長が経営成果の改善につながるためには、経営管理面での対応が不可欠である。コンビニエンスストアや中堅百貨店(後に専門店ビルになる)の事例を通して、時間帯別に品揃えや店内展示をきめ細かく変えたり(マーケティング面での対応)、非正規従業員まで活用した職場配置やローテーションを作成したり(人的資源管理システム面での対応)するなどの経営管理上の対応が、営業時間延長の成果を得る上で不可欠であることを示す。

Warping of the slopes of the Taga and Yugawara volcanoes (lower Pleistocene) caused subsidence of the Tanna and Tasiro basins and at the same time elevation of the area between Kuro-dake and Nirayama. Later, this district was affected by the Tanna fault. The block on the western side of the fault was displaced about 1 km horizontally southward for the greater part of the fault line, and was elevated about 100 meters or more in its southern part, relatively to the block on its east. The fault displacement that occurred at the time of the earthquake of 1930 is similar in character to the above-mentioned displacement that occurred in geological times. The fault displacement itself is not the sole cause of the origin of the Tanna basin. This basin was formed chiefly through down-warping of the volcanic slope. As a result of the fault displacement, the topography of the basin became somewhat more complex than it had been before.

Questions raised by lay persons in relation with the Universe were investigated to clarify what they want to know and which aspects of the questions tend to embarrass experts trying to answer them. The seventy percent of questions are about the whole Universe or celestial bodies. In terms of the whole Universe, the beginning, the end, the edge, and the difference from everyday space are the frequently asked. Throughout the raised questions, the mechanisms, origins, and futures are featured rather than definitions or status. Experts are confused when they find questions unexpected or hard to answer. The unexpected questions are based on everyday experiences or misunderstandings, and the questioners point out contradictions among the information through logical extrapolation. The hard questions are with less considerations on whether they are answerable by science. Some of them are neglecting how science is done or what does science target for, while the others are scientific but difficult to answer with the current status of science. The results imply that embarrassing questions from lay persons are the important opportunities to deepen the two-way science communication.

In this paper, I will discuss Peter Singer’s answer to “Why be Moral?”. There have been many debates regarding the “Why be Moral?” problem. It is, however, still unclear whether at least one answer is correct. I take up and examine Singer’s argument. Firstly, I will provide a brief overview of the literature on the Why be Moral? problem, and place Singer’s contribution within the literature. Secondly, I claim that Singer’s argument from a meaning of life does not intend to provide everyone with the reasons for acting morally, as opposed to the standard interpretation. His 1973 article supports my claim. However, in fact, Singer requires us to be moral, which is an apparent contradiction to my interpretation. Lastly, I explain why it is not a contradiction.

<概要>アニメの主人公キャラクターたちは、キャラクターの区別をするにあたって、ユニフォームや髪色などにキャラクターの特徴に適した色を使用している。例えば、リーダー格で熱血男タイプを赤、クールでサブリーダー的なタイプを青などだ。本稿では、色の印象とキャラクターの特徴を表現する色には関連性があると仮設をたて、アニメ『プリキュア』シリーズを調査対象とした研究を行う。また、本稿ではキャラクターの髪色に注目する。これは、コスチュームよりもキャラクター自身に使用されている色の方がキャラクターそのものを表現すると考えたからだ。色の非言語コミュニケーションとしての重要性を、キャラクターの髪色の観点から分析する。
