We have to learn the essence of business ethics from Ryoi Suminokura and his son,Soan,who,based on Kyoto,had a splendid performance in a trade business about 400 years ago when the era changed to the Azuchi-Momoyama and the Edo period after the Sengoku.They regulated "Shuuchuu-kiyaku" (舟中規約) , or the code on the shipboard,which showed their creed that the profit is only the result from their confidence and obligation.We can understand its value from the fact that it was submitted through his Friend Seika Fujiwara (藤原惺窩) to "Shuin-sen" (朱印船) on 1603,the first trading ship to abroad authorized by the goverment of Edo.Still more it is also remarkable that Ryoi tried to increase social welfare and public interest,excavating riversby his own property or supporting to learning,art,science and culture.

本研究は,不快な情動をあらかじめ回避しようとする傾向(不快情動回避心性)が,現代の青年に特徴的とされる友人関係に対してどのように影響を及ぼすのかについて検討することを目的として行われた。具体的には,不快情動回避心性は,自己開示に伴う自己の傷つきの予測を媒介して表面的な友人関係へとつながるという因果モデルを想定し,その検証を行った。本研究では,大学生190名(男性61名,女性129名)を対象として,質問紙調査が実施された。構造方程式モデリングによるパス解析の結果,不快情動回避心性から「群れ」「気遣い」へは直接的な影響のみが認められ,また,不快情動回避心性から「ふれあい回避」については,傷つきの予測を媒介要因とする影響のみが認められた。このことから,直接的あるいは間接的に,不快情動の回避が青年期の表面的な友人関係のもち方へとっながっていくことが示唆された。

Photon upconversion based on triplet-triplet annihilation (TTA) of excited triplet molecules is drawing attention due to its applicability for weak incident light, possessing a potential for improving efficiencies of solar energy conversion devices. Since energy transfer between triplet levels of different molecules and TTA are based on the Dexter mechanism, inter-molecular collision is necessary and hence the majority of previous studies have been done with organic solvents, which are volatile and flammable. This paper presents the development and characterization of phase-stable photon upconverters fabricated with ionic liquids, which are room temperature molten salts with negligible vapor pressure and high thermal stability. The employed aromatic molecules, which are carrier of photo-created energies and are non-polar (or weakly polar) molecules, are found to be stable in the polar environment of ionic liquids, contrary to expectation. The mechanism of the stable solvation is proposed. The upconversion quantum yields are found to rapidly saturate as the excitation light power increases. An analytical model was developed and compared with the experimental data. It is shown that ionic liquids are not viscous media for the purpose of TTA-based upconversion.

Mental control ( psychological-competitive ability) is necessary for athletes to demonstrate their bestperformance. It has been assumed that an individual's personality is also involved in demonstratingpsychological-competitive ability; thus,the present study was conducted in order to clarify the relationshipbetween psychological-competitive ability and personality. The diagnostic Inventory of Psychological-Competitive Ability for Athletes ( DIPCA3) and Permeability Control Power Egogram ( PCE)were utilized to measure psychological-competitive ability and personality,respectively. University andhigh school athletes were categorized into superior and inferior groups,and a comparison was conductedbetween groups.Regarding the relationship between personality and psychological-competitive ability,it was suggestedthat university athletes in the superior group improved their competitiveness and cooperativenessby switching their ego-states appropriately,and self-confidence and strategic ability were loweredin the inferior group by repressing the expression of feelings into actions by the ego.High school athletesin the superior group had a strong desire to show their strength,and their egos motivated themto direct their mental stability and concentration,self-confidence,and strategic ability towards thisideal; however,a strong and dominant ego also lowered cooperativeness. In the inferior group,adominating ego that can be switched appropriately improved strategic ability or an ego that drivesathletes to act according to their own values and ideas improved self-confidence. It seemed that anego that represses the expression of feelings into actions lowered mental stability and concentration.Since the mental ability required of each individual varied due to differences in athletic level,careerand supervising method,different trends were observed between groups. In order to demonstratethe best performance for individual athletes at different levels,it is important to establish a personalitythat allows flexible switching of ego,and enhance mental competitive ability along with the establishmentof personality.

本研究は、日本人戦犯釈放をめぐる戦後日本外交の政策と対応を一次資料にもとづいて分析するものである。研究代表者は、これまで戦犯釈放問題に関して、対日講和条約発効(日本の主権回復)の前と後に分けたうえで「連合国側の行動」を分析した。これに対して、本研究が取り組んだのは、1950 年代の日本外交が戦犯釈放問題でどのような行動をとったのか、この問題に関する事実を解明することである。そして、この「日本側の行動」は上記の「連合国側の行動」と統合され、研究代表者の「日本人戦犯釈放史」が完成することとなる。

The activity and localization of hydrolysis enzyme of maltitol and the effect of maltose on maltitol hydrolysis were studied using the rat intestinal mucosa. The utilization of maltitol was, further, observed in the fasted and in the fed rats. The results obtained were as follows:1. The hydrolysis activity to maltitol was highest in the jejunum and was about one-twentieth of that to maltose.2. The maltitol hydrolysis by jejunal enzyme was strongly inhibited in the presence of maltose.3. It was suggested that maltitol was slowly hydrolyzed by maltase.4. When the animal was simultaneously given with maltitol and diet, the utilization of maltitol was significantly reduced as compared with that of the dose of maltitol alone.5. A portion of maltitol administered was absorbed without hydrolysis from intestine, and the native form, maltitol, was excreted in the urine.
