財政悪化・少子高齢化社会を迎えた日本における地域公共交通維持スキームとして,コミュニティバス等の公的補助方式に加え,地域住民・企業が自らのニーズに合った公共交通を創り出す「地域参画型運営方式」が出現している.本研究では,全国の地区内乗合バスサービス代表事例を横断的に調査し,関係主体間の役割分担の視点から類型化する.各類型の有効性と成立・持続可能性の地域特性による違いを,クラブ理論および組織論の観点から検討した結果,a) 成立の可否を主に左右するのは事業採算性と運動の組織化であること,b) 運動の組織化は地縁組織やキーパーソンの有無により大きな影響を受けること,を明らかにしている.その上で,地域の特性や資源に応じた運営方式を類型化している.

研究実績:平成22年度は、日本文化人類学会、アメリカ考古学会において先住民族の文化遺産と知的財産権に関する報告を行う一方、研究アソシエートとして参画するカナダの研究プロジェクト「文化遺産における知的財産権問題(IPinCH)」(研究代表者ジョージ・ニコラス、サイモン・フレーザー大学教授)のワークショップにおいて北海道におけるアイヌ民族の手による文化遺産および景観保全の取り組みについて報告をおこなった。また2011年1月には,北海道阿寒において先住民族の文化遺産と知的財産権をめぐる国際会議をアイヌ・先住民研究センターとIPinCHとの共同で組織し、今日的課題についての協議をおこなった。意義および重要性:研究年度2年目にあたる今年度は、国内学会および国際学会において今日的課題と日本における現状についての報告を行うとともに、海外の研究グループとの将来的な研究ネットワークの構築をおこなった。このような取り組みを通じて加藤は、研究アソシエートとしてIPinCHへの参画が求められ、また世界国際会議(WAC)中間会議(2011年開催)のセッション「先住民族と博物館」の国際委員会メンバーへ招待され、本研究課題を国際的な研究組織の中で議論できる環境が構築できた。先住民族とその文化遺産をとりまく課題は、国際的に注目されており、その解決には国際的な連携が不可欠である。この意味において本研究の実施によって海外の研究組織と恒常的な研究協力体制が構築できたことは、今後の当該課題の解決にむけて大きな成果を挙げたと評価でき、日本における研究展開も国際的な場での議論も可能になると思われる。

本研究では, 名古屋の基幹バス新出来町線の実例をもとに, 中央走行方式バスの中長期的な導入効果を明らかにすることを目的としている. 分析によって, 1) バス走行が一般車両の影響を受けにくくなる結果, 高速化や定時性向上が図られていること, 2) 沿線状況のわりに利用客がより多く喚起されており, 他のバス路線に比べ乗客の減少が少ないこと, 3) 一般車の走行車線は減少するものの, バスも含めた単位時間あたり道路断面通過可能人キロはさほど減少しないこと, 4) 速度向上効果が, 停留所減による沿線住民のバス停アクセス時間の増加を補っていること, などが示されている.

We describe a fiducial marker tracking method for an augmented reality system. Square markers are used for fast precise registration and a camera model that includes a distortion function is also employed. We also describe a system calibration method. In order to display virtual objects on a head mounted display (HMD) screen the relationships between the HMD, human eyes and head mounted camera are very important. Camera calibration is also vital for accurate marker tracking. We describe a novel HMD calibration technique which does not require much effort from the user and provides very good usability. With good calibration our tracking method provides very accurate tracking and runs at 30 frames/sec on a SGI Octane computer.

It has been reported that one of the effects of proton pump inhibitor (PPI) is inhibition from exocrine pancreas. We treated two cases of reflex esophagitis due to total gastrectomy with PPI and they were cured soon. Case 1 : A 71-year-old man was operated upon total gastrectomy (6-interposition) for early gastric cancer. He had felt aphagia and heart burn from ten days after operation. We had been following up him for three years with camostat mesilate, but his symptoms had been unchanged and the endoscopy had revealed esophagitis which was Savary-Miller (SM) stage III. Case 2 : Total gastrectomy (Roux-Y) for early gastric cancer was carried out to a woman who was 53 years old. Her symptoms were nausea and heart burn from eight days after operation. She had never been treating by any medicines. Four months after operation, her symptoms had been stronger and endoscopic findings was esophagitis of SM stage III. In both cases, their symptoms were got under control soon and esophagitises were changed to SM stage I-II with single medication of PPI for several weeks.

Dakekanba is the most popular broad leaf tree in Hokkaido. This study proposed the wood for manufacturing baseball bat. In order to compare the dakekanba wood with the others manufactured historically; sugar maple, aodamo, yellow birch, and white ash, full baseball bats with the same dimension were prepared from these woods. The performance of bat was studied by the impact test with fast pitched ball. The flexural vibration was measured by means of strain gauge. Results of the modal analysis showed that the first natural frequency was around 35 Hz and the second, 233 Hz, which were almost equal among these woods. The amplitudes of these modes increased with increasing the speed of pitched ball. As a result, the maple bat was the hardest in deflection and slowest in damping, and aodamo was the softest in deflection and the fastest in damping. It was concluded that these properties of dakekanba bat were close to those of yellow birch and white ash, which have served as intermediate between maple and aodamo.

Green tea catechins have been widely used as an anticariogenic or antiplaque additive to mouthrinses, toothpastes, etc. Since their retention in the oral cavity is the determinant for thecaries preventive effects, the oral pharmacokinetic study was performed by assessing salivary concentrations of catechins with time after oral application using high-performance liquid chromatography with diode array detection. The optimized method enabled to simultaneously quantify eight catechins in the concentration range of 0.05-25.0μg/ml in saliva and mouthrinses with high resolution, recovery, and precision. Mouthrinsing experiments with the aqueous solutions of green tea extract (5.0mg/ml) revealed that each catechin maintained the salivary concentration at μg/ml levels for 1-60 min after mouthrinsing, especially (-) -epigal-locatechin gallate and (-) -gallocatechin gallate showed concentrations over 10μg/ml even after 60 min. When using the commercially available mouthrinses containing green tea extract, catechins were found in saliva up to 60 min after mouthrinsing, although their salivary concentrations were much lower. The retentive degree of catechins depended on their concentrations in mouthrinses and the number of times of mouthrinsing. Mouthrinsing with the green tea extract solution under optimal conditions would retain catechins in the oral cavity at least for 60 min after oral application, maintaining their salivary concentrations to show the potential caries preventive effects.

[要旨]ペンギン類は、同種内で雌雄個体間に外見の差が少ないため、外見からは個体の雌雄を正確に判別することが困難である。その一方で、日本国内で飼育され、動物園・水族館で展示されているペンギン類を維持し、展示を継続するためには、国内での効率の良いペンギン類の繁殖が必要であり、その第一段階として、ペンギン類の各個体の性別を知ることは必須である。本稿では、当研究室で実施しているPCR 法によるペンギン類の雌雄判別について紹介する。[英文抄録] Since there is little difference in appearance between males and females, it is difficult to accurately distinguish the sex of each individual penguins from the appearance. On the other hand, in order to maintain and continue the exhibition of penguins bred at zoos and/or aquariums in Japan, efficient breeding of penguins is necessary. As a step of efficient breeding, it is essential to know the sex of each individual penguins. In this article, I will introduce the sexing of penguins by the PCR method carried out in my laboratory.

本研究は、鉄軌道線廃止後の代替交通網整備の検討方法について示唆を得ることを目的としている。2006年10月に廃止となった桃花台新交通桃花台線(愛知県小牧市)を対象として、その廃線前後の沿線における交通利便性変化を、土地利用を考慮した評価が可能なポテンシャル型アクセシビリティ指標を用いて評価した。その結果、代替公共交通網により名古屋市方面への交通利便性は維持されているものの、小牧市内へのそれは大きく低下していることが明らかとなった。この結果と、独自に実施した廃止に伴う住民の交通行動変化に関するアンケート調査結果とを比較したところ、おおむね合致していることがわかった。このことから、鉄軌道廃止後の公共交通網検討のための評価指標として、アクセシビリティ指標を用いることが可能であると考えられる。

The rural society of modern Egypt was drastically transformed in the background of the transfer of irrigation system from the basin irrigation to the perennial irrigation. The paper aims to examine its impact of the transfer of irrigation system on the rural society of modern Egypt, focusing an interesting geographical feature, that is “dead river” (baḥr mayyit), which signifies a huge stagnant water in the shape of river. The “dead river,” with which the paper is concerned, is the ancient Baghur Canal. It flowed from a head (fam) of the Damietta branch near to Bir al-Shamus Village in Menufiya Governorate, and go to the Buhayra Governorate through the central Delta region between the two branches of the Nile. In the middle of 19th century, it was cut by Menuf Canal, which was constructed as one of the main canal (rayyāḥ) for the perennial irrigation. The cutting of the ancient Baghur Canal by Menuf Canal made a part of the ancient Baghur Canal “dead river” on one hand, and caused the lack of water for irrigation of the lands on the west side of the Nile on the other. It was because the new and present Baghur Canal, which started from the head on the west shore of Menuf Canal in Kafr al-Ghonameya Village, was newly constructed instead of the ancient Baghur Canal.

症例は47歳,男性。3型胃癌の診断で紹介されたが,上部消化管内視鏡検査で幽門前庭部から胃体部にかけて易出血性の不整な多発潰瘍を認め,胃梅毒を疑った。生検組織でTreponema pallidumを確認し,Benzylpenicillin benzathineによる駆梅療法を施行した。症状は速やかに改善し,潰瘍も瘢痕化,治癒した。 胃梅毒の内視鏡所見は特徴的で,本症の存在を念頭において内視鏡検査を行うことが重要と考えられる。

耳下腺腫瘍では術前に良悪の鑑別や, 悪性の場合には悪性度が問題となる.今回, 我々は耳下腺腫瘍症例の病理検査とMRI画像所見, および見かけの拡散係数 (ADC) 値との関連を検討し, 耳下腺腫瘍の術前診断への有用性を検討した.耳下腺腫瘍81症例を対象として, 病理組織, MRI, 拡散強調画像におけるADC値を検討した.ADC値は, ワルチン腫瘍と癌のADC値は, 多形腺腫のADC値の平均値と比較し, 有意差を認めた. 癌を悪性度に分けてみると, ADC値が1.0未満の低値の症例は, 高悪性度では4例中3例で, 多形腺腫では18例中1例であった. 多形腺腫と高悪性度群の癌との術前の鑑別には有用であると思われた.

In this paper, we introduce a virtual pop-up book system using Augmented Reality technology. This system displays 3D virtual objects on the real book based on pose and position estimation of the camera. Although many marker-based methods have been proposed, a picture book with markers looks unattractive. Our system does not use any markers. We describe four advantages for the virtual pop-up book. Firstly, 3D rendering helps readers understand scenes. Secondly, characters look lively by using motions. Thirdly, author of the picture book can use the new representation which mixes 2D and 3D rendering. Lastly, it can express time changes using animation.
