Independent component analysis (ICA) is a signal separation technique inspired by the famous psychological phenomenon called cocktail party effect. Various kinds of its applications have been undertaken by a lot of researchers so far, and an alternative method based on a layered neural network with structural pruning was tried in the preceding studies. However, how to develop such a signal separation matrix was the center of attention, so how to apply it after training was not discussed a lot. Then, from the viewpoint of adaptability to untrained signals, some computer simulations are carried out in this study. As a result, it is found experimentaly that a vocal signal separation task with the developed separation matrix is accomplished successfully as we have intended in advance.

This study attempted to construct the self-consciousness scale for Japanese based on the scale made by Fenigstein et al. (1975). Twenty six items which may assess individual difference in self-consciousness were made. The factor analysis of the items indicated that there were two main factors. These two factors were similar to the private and the public self-consciousness factors which were found by Fenigstein et al. The scores of the public self-consciousness indicated in this study were found to have positive correlation with both social anxiety (the tendency of avoidance from self-presentation) scale and exhibitionism (the tendency of approach to self-presentation) scale. Implications of self-consciousness scale for research on social behavior was discussed.

<p>本論文では,男性における下着の着用や購入の関心の実態,および,下着へのこだわりの背景にある心理機序について明らかにすることを目的とした.その際,心理的機能がどのような場面,目的で期待されているのか,心理的機能は下着の何が作り出しているのか,心理的機能を期待する背景にどのような要因が関与しているのか,それらをまとめた下着のこだわりの心理モデルを構築し検討した.結果,男性において,下着にも心理的な機能があり,その機能への期待が,下着へのこだわりに結びついているということが明らかになった.中でも,気合いの効果が極めて重要であり,様々な場面でのベースとなっていることが確認された.幅広い年代の男性が,日常生活において直面する様々な場面において,課題を達成するための心理的資源を得るために,お気に入りの下着を着用していることが示された.ただし,そのプロセスについては,女性ほど分化していないことも併せて示された.</p>

本研究はシャイネスの主要な2つの要素である対人不安傾向と対人消極傾向に注目し, これらを独立した特性次元として考えることができるのか, また, 両傾向は他のどのような心理特性と関連しているのかを検討した.大学生男女を対象とした2つの質問紙調査を行い次のような結果を得た.対人不安傾向と対人消極傾向とは因子構造上, 異なる特性として抽出可能であることが示された.前者は公的自意識, 拒否回避欲求と正の相関, 自尊感情と負の相関が見られ, 後者は社会的スキル, 賞賛獲得欲求と負の相関が認められた.これらから, 対人不安傾向は社会的拒否に対する過敏性の表れとして, 対人消極傾向は対人関係に対する無力感の表れとして解釈できると考えられた.以上の結果は, Leary(1983b)の自己呈示モデルとの関連から考察され, シャイネスのメカニズムに関して新たなモデルが提起された.

Public self-consciousness involves two contrasting attitudes toward self-presentation-exhibitionism and shyness. The purpose of this study was to explore the distinctive motivational states which mediate these two attitudes. This paper consists of two researches. 395 undergraduates (207 males, 188 females) participated in the former study and 452 undergraduates (288 males, 164 females) participated in the latter one. The first study employed a factor analytic technique and results pointed to the existence of the following two motivational states-(1) acquiring praise and (2) avoiding rejection-both of which were positively correlated with public self-consciousness. "Acquiring praise" was also found to be related to exhibitionism but "avoiding rejection" was not. The later was found to be related to shyness. The second study revealed that both motivational states were related to a tendency to seek out and value the experience of participating in a social group. The implications of these findings for theories of self-consciousness and self-presentation were discussed.

This study developed revised Japanese versions of the self perception profile for Children, for Adolescents and for College Students. The original versions have an idiosyncratic and time-consuming item format, which was revised by using only one statement for each item. Subjects were fifth to sixth grade students (Boys=129, Girls=152), tenth to twelfth grade students (Boys=112, Girls=100), and college students (Boys=96, Girls=153) in Japan. The reliability and validity measures showed that the revised versions were similar to the original versions. The present study provides some evidence for the use of these scales with Japanese students.

A nanoindentation hardness apparatus was developed on the basis of an atomic force microscope to obtain both an indentation curve and an indentation image. Newly devised features were to use a lever which has a three-sided pyramidal diamond tip at the central part of the lever, to measure the vertical displacement at the center of the lever and to add an actuator for controlling the force. The ultra-microhardness values of gold, SUS403 steel and SNCM439 steel measured at the indentation forces between 2.6×10^3 and 3.5×10^3 μN using the nanoindentation hardness apparatus agreed with the macrohardness values measured at the force of 4.9 or 9.8 N using the conventional Vickers hardness apparatus. However, the ultra-microhardness increased with decreasing indentation force. This behavior was explained considering the elastic-plastic conditions of the specimens.

本論文では現代女性の痩身化の実態に注目し, 痩身願望を「自己の体重を減少させたり, 体型をスリム化しようとする欲求であり, 絶食, 薬物, エステなど様々なダイエット行動を動機づける心理的要因」と定義した。痩身は「幸福獲得の手段」として位置づけられているとする立場から, 痩身願望の強さを測定する尺度を構成するとともに, 痩身願望が体型への損得意識を媒介に規定されるモデルを検討した。青年期女子に質問紙による調査を行い, 痩身願望尺度の一次元構造を確かめ, ダイエット行動や摂食行動との関連について検討し, 尺度の信頼性, 妥当性が確認された。また, 体型への損得意識に影響を及ぼすと考えられる個人特性と, 痩身願望との関連性を検討した結果, 「賞賛獲得欲求」「女性役割受容」「自尊感情」「ストレス感」などに関連があることが示された。そこで, これらの関連を検討したところ, 痩せれば今より良いことがあるという「痩身のメリット感」が痩身願望に直接影響し, それ以外の変数はこのメリット感を媒介して痩身願望に影響することが明らかになり, 痩身願望は3つのルートによって高められると考えられた。第1は, 肥満から痩身願望に直接至るルートである。第2は, 自己顕示欲求から生じる痩身願望で, 賞賛獲得欲求と女性役割受容が痩身によるメリット感を経由して痩身願望と関連しており, 痩身が顕示性を満足させるための手段となっていることが示唆された。第3は, 自己不全感から発するルートである。自尊感情の低さと空虚感があいまったとき, そうした不全感の原因を体型に帰属し, 今の体型のせいで幸せになれないといった「現体型のデメリット感」を生じ, さらにメリット感を経由して痩身願望に至ることが示された。これらの結果から, 痩身願望が「女性的魅力のアピール」や「自己不全感からの脱却」を日的として高まるのではないかと考えられた。

This study of 241 female college students examined the relationship among binge-eating, dieting, and stress, assessed at two different times. The results of path analysis showed significant paths both from binge-eating to dieting and from dieting to binge-eating were significant. In other words, binge-eating often results in dieting, and dieting often results in binge-eating, which becomes a vicious circle. The path from stress to binge-eating was significant, but not the path from binge-eating as a way of coping.

Behavioral standards are an important determinant of delinquent behavior. The present study investigated the associations between behavioral standards and juvenile delinquency of children in reformatory institutions. A total of 1 248 children in reformatory institutions completed the Standard for Public Space Scale (SPS). The resulting alpha coefficients suggested that the SPS had high internal reliability. Factor analysis revealed five factors: (a) Public Values, (b) Egocentric, (c) Regional-standards, (d) Peer-standards, and (e) Care about Others. Cluster analysis revealed that juvenile delinquency experiences fell into two clusters of "likelihood of committing a crime" and "committing a crime". In addition, ANOVAs suggested that juvenile delinquents in reformatory institutions had higher scores on factors of Egocentric and Peer-standards on the behavioral standards, compared to juvenile non-delinquents. The value of using the Standard for Public Space Scale for the study of juvenile delinquency was discussed.

本研究は,夫婦間の愛情関係が家族機能と親の養育態度を媒介として児童期の子どもの抑うつ傾向と関連するかどうかを検討することを目的として実施された。313世帯の父親,母親および子ども(平均10.25歳)を対象に郵送による質問紙調査を実施し,両親回答による夫婦関係と養育態度,および家庭の雰囲気と家族の凝集性,子どもの自己記入による抑うつ傾向を測定した。配偶者間の愛情関係と子どもの抑うつ傾向との間に相関は見られなかったが,家庭の雰囲気や家族の凝集性といった家族機能変数を媒介として投入した結果,両親間の愛情の強固さと家族機能の良好さが,また家族機能の良好さと子どもの抑うつ傾向とが関連することが明らかになった。また同時に,配偶者間の愛情関係は親自身の養育態度とも関連し,相手への愛情の強さと子どもに対する態度の暖かさや過干渉的態度との間に有意な関係が見られた。しかし,こうした養育態度のうち,子どもの抑うつの低さと関連が認められたのは,母親の養育の暖かさのみであり,父親の養育態度は子どもの抑うつ傾向とは関連しなかった。

マルチメディア配信を利用するネットワークアプリケーションにおいてサーバやネットワークの負荷を解決する手段として,マルチキャスト通信があり,その一つの方法として,アプリケーションレベルマルチキャスト(ALM)が注目されている. ALMの実装例として,PeerCastと呼ばれるマルチメディア配信に適したミドルウェアがある.しかしながら,PeerCastでは経路木生成アルゴリズムの性能が悪く,経路木が最適なものにならないことがほとんどであり,また経路木を動的に改善する機能がないといった問題点がある.その改善として通信中に経路木の一部を動的に変更するには,コネクションを繋ぎ替える機能が必要となる.そこで本研究ではPeerCastにおいて,データロスなくコネクションを繋ぎ替える機能の実装とその評価を行う.
