自閉症患児29例 (IQ50以上=6例, IQ50未満=23例) および正常小児19例において, 扁桃体~海馬を含む左, 右側頭葉内側部, 左小脳半球の3箇所にてproton magnetic resonancespectroscopy (1H-MRS) を施行し, 代謝物質の濃度を抑制されていない組織水を用いた内部標準法にて測定した.IQ50未満の自閉症患児においては, 扁桃体~海馬を含む左側頭葉内側部および左小脳半球にてN-acetylaspartate濃度が有意に低下していた.これは, これらの部位における神経細胞の減少や発達異常あるいは神経活動の低下を反映していると考えられ, 自閉症で報告されている神経病理学的所見および脳血流SPECTの所見とよく一致していた.1H-MRSは自閉症の病態解明に有用であると考えられる.

Miscanthus sinensis grasslands can be dominated by dwarf bamboo such as Pleioblastus chino var. viridis after abandonment, leading to decrease diversity in the communities. We investigated the effect of mowing on recovery of grassland species richness and cover, and overall species composition over three years. Two treatments were tested: mowing above ground vegetation every autumn and mowing above ground vegetation every autumn with selective cutting of P. chino var. viridis in the first summer. The number of grassland plant species increased slightly under both treatments, although M. sinensis did not return as the dominant species in either treatment after the restoration. The addition of selective cutting of P. chino var. viridis resulted in greater cover of M. sinensis and higher richness and cover of grassland species. These results show that selective cutting of P. chino var. viridis in summer enhance the effect of management for restoring grassland species diversity in long-abandoned semi-natural grassland communities.

万有引力定数は, 基礎物理定数の中で最も測定精度の低い定数である. その精度の改善は他の定数に比べるとひときわのんびりと進められてきたが, 3年前に三つの異なるグループから大きく食い違う結果が公表されて以来, 各地で測定への取り組みが活発化してきた. 現在の定数値に潜む誤差への著者の指摘も紹介しながら, この定数の素顔に迫る.

Control of turbulent jets has applications in the manufacturing industry. It has been reported that it is possible to control the jet structure by a pure tone. However, in pure-tone-excited jets, the detailed characteristics of the flow fields are unknown. In this paper, a jet excited by a pure tone radiated from the direction perpendicular to the axis is addressed. A woofer was set downstream near the nozzle. As a result, we found that the cross section of the jet was distorted elliptically in shape. It was clarified that the distorted cross section depended on frequency and sound pressure level of the excitation. This phenomenon is very useful to control jet flows, since it can change the characteristics of the flows. We attempted to clarify the mechanism of elliptical distortion of the jet cross section, assuming the mixing region of the jet was organized into many vortex rings in a time-averaged domain.

弱視者や識字障碍者でも読みやすいとされる DAISY コンテンツは,電子書籍端末や音声合成技術の普及により教科書などのコンテンツで徐々に広がることが期待されている.しかし,そのコンテンツ作成作業は,ボランティアベースで多くの時間がかかっていたため,エンドユーザが必要とする図書を,簡単に手早く作成することが困難だった.本報告では,こうした課題に対応するための音訳支援システムを提案する.音声合成技術の活用と,テキスト解析誤りに依存する読みやアクセント誤りの修正手段を Web アプリとして提供することで,視覚・識字障碍者のための朗読コンテンツを,音訳ボランティアや保護者・教職員などの作業者が簡単に作成できる環境の提供を目指す.また,従来の作業手順と比較し,本提案システムを活用した場合の作業期間に関する予備評価の結果についても述べる.DAISY content is expected to gradually gain popularity among the visually impaired according to the prevalence of e-book reading devices and the development of text-to-speech technology. However, the development of DAISY-formatted e-books, which is undertaken by volunteers, is a time-consuming process, making it difficult to meet the needs of end users. In this report, we propose a content transliteration system that can convert plain text to DAISY content including formatted HTML and audio data via automatic text-to-speech technology. Furthermore, using the GUI of the proposed system, users can correct text and accent information by inputting "ruby-type" data. Through this functionality, we aim to target support from transliterate workers such as volunteers, teachers, and parents to make and edit contents easily and quickly for the people with visually impaired. Finally, we present the results of a preliminary evaluation using the proposed method in order to compare it with the conventional method.

人口オーナスは現に進行しつつあり、大都市の一部においては今後一時的に改善するものの、再び悪化が見込まれる。人口オーナスは、生産年齢人口比率の低下によって生産を抑制し、税収も減少させる一方、社会保障給付の拡大をもたらす。不況による保険料収入の低迷もあって財政への負担は一層高まっており、地方の負担割合は上昇しつつある。また、高齢者割合の上昇と高齢者の高い投票率とによって、高齢者優先の政治的意思決定を前倒しで実現してしまう可能性が高い。

高精度な言語モデルの融合手法として,相補的バックオフアルゴリズムに基づく融合アルゴリズムを提案するとともに,それを用いた言語モデルの融合ツールを構築した.N-gram言語モデルは,学習元のコーパスの話題や知識,語調や発話様式などの特徴を反映する.そのため,タスクごとの特徴を反映した複数の言語モデルを融合することで,より多様な入力に対処できるモデルを構築できる.この言語モデルの融合において,既存の融合手法では,モデルの持つ特性が損なわれるためタスクに対する特徴がぼやけてしまう.また,従来手法である学習元コーパスの単純な結合および再学習による融合を行うためには,学習元のコーパス自体が必要になる.これに対して,他方のモデルには現れない未観測N-gramの生起確率を他方のモデルから相互に推定する高精度な相補的バックオフアルゴリズムを提案する.さらに本手法を用いて,学習元コーパスが不要で利便性の高い言語モデル融合ツールを構築した.実際に医療相談,グルメ・レシピ検索および新聞記事の各タスクの言語モデルを融合し,それらを評価した結果,各モデルの特性をなるべく保存しながら,コーパス結合モデルと比較しても精度が劣化しないモデルを得ることができた.A new complemental back-off algorithm for merging two N-gram languagemodels is proposed. By merging several topic-dependent orstyle-dependent models, we can construct a general model that coverswider range of topics easily. However, a conventional method thatsimply concatenates the training corpora or interpolating eachprobabilities often levels off the task-dependent characteristics in each languagemodels, and weaken the linguistic constraint in total. We propose anew back-off scheme that assigns the unseen N-gram probabilitiesaccording to the probabilities of the another model. It can assignmore reliable probabilities to the unseen N-grams, and no originalcorpora is needed for the merging. We implemented a command tool thatrealizes this method, and evaluated it on three recognition tasks(medical consulting, food recipe query and newspaper article). The results reveal that our merged model can keep the same accuracy of each original one.

スーパーコンピュータ「京」の構成と評価について述べる.「京」はスパコンの広範な分野での利活用を目指した10PFLOPS級のスパコンである.我々は,デザインコンセプトとして,汎用的なCPUアーキテクチャの採用と高いCPU単体性能の実現,高いスケーラビリティのインターコネクトの専用開発,並列度の爆発に抗する技術の導入,高い信頼性,柔軟な運用性,省電力性の実現を掲げ,2011年にそのシステムを完成させた.HPC向けCPU,SPARC64 VIIIfxと,スケーラビリティの高いTofuインターコネクトを専用に開発し,並列度の爆発に抗する技術としてVISIMPACTを実装した.冷却やジョブマネージャ等により,高い信頼性,柔軟な運用性,省電力性を実現した.「京」は2011年6月と11月にTOP500で世界一となった.また,複数のアプリケーションで高い実行効率と性能を確認し,スパコンとしての高い実用性を示した.
