“Legitimacy” is one of the most often discussed concepts in Sociology. But the cognitive meaning of the concept is far from clear. This paper, first, points out “Selectivity from Complexity”, that is, contingency of affairs, as one of the logical requisites for taking “legitimacy” of a certain affair into question. The lack of cognition of this “contingency (selectivity) ” disables us from problematizing “Legitimacy”. Next, sociological descriptions are classified into two types: on the one hand, the contingency is introduced from the viewpoint of the observed (actors in the world as sociological objects), on the other, from that of the observer (sociologists themselves). Berger & Luckmann's literature, one example of latter type, is very “cosmological”. Bourdieu's belongs to the latter type also, but it utilizes “class”-category, one of the ‘powerful’ format for differentiating the actors, so it looks more plausible.

An advanced version of Jones matrix optical coherence tomography (JMT) is demonstrated for Doppler and polarization sensitive imaging of the posterior eye. JMT is capable of providing localized flow tomography by Doppler detection and investigating the birefringence property of tissue through a three-dimensional (3-D) Jones matrix measurement. Owing to an incident polarization multiplexing scheme based on passive optical components, this system is stable, safe in a clinical environment, and cost effective. Since the properties of this version of JMT provide intrinsic compensation for system imperfection, the system is easy to calibrate. Compared with the previous version of JMT, this advanced JMT achieves a sufficiently long depth measurement range for clinical cases of posterior eye disease. Furthermore, a fine spectral shift compensation method based on the cross-correlation of calibration signals was devised for stabilizing the phase of OCT, which enables a high sensitivity Doppler OCT measurement. In addition, a new theory of JMT which integrates the Jones matrix measurement, Doppler measurement, and scattering measurement is presented. This theory enables a sensitivity-enhanced scattering OCT and high-sensitivity Doppler OCT. These new features enable the application of this system to clinical cases. A healthy subject and a geographic atrophy patient were measured in vivo, and simultaneous imaging of choroidal vasculature and birefringence structures are demonstrated.

Despite the variability of internal and external environments, the human central nervous system (CNS) can generate precise and stable perception and motor behaviors. What mechanism enables this ability? Answering this question is one of the significant goals in the human sciences, including neuroscience, cognitive science, physical education and sports science. The Bayesian integration theory proposes that the CNS learns the prior distribution of a task and integrates it with sensory information to minimize the effect of sensory noise. In this article, we introduce psychophysical reports using motor timing and temporal order judgment (TOJ) tasks that support the Bayesian integration theory. Subsequently, we demonstrate the event-related potentials (ERPs) behind Bayesian integration that operates in somatosensory TOJ.

近年,視覚・聴覚などの五感のいずれかを用いたデータベース検索の中で,嗅覚・味覚を用いた研究が活発化している.著者らの研究グループではこれまで,微妙な差異の表現が必要であるコーヒーのにおいに焦点を絞り,名詞と感性語を組み合わせた,柔軟に検索条件を指定することのできる方式を提案している.本稿では,においに加えて味も考慮し,所望のコーヒーを検索する効率がより向上する方式を提案する.そして,試作システムを用いた評価実験により,その有用性を示す.

日本料理, 西洋料理, 中国料理の概念イメージについて, SD法と因子分析法をもとに考察した結果は次のようになった。(1) 日本料理の概念イメージの基本的因子として「品質性と親近感」「嗜好性」「重厚感」「郷愁感」「性別と甘味性」, 西洋料理は「品質性と親近感」「重厚感と味覚」「明るさと爽快感」「甘味性」「センス」のそれぞれ5因子が抽出された。中国料理の基本的因子は「品質性」「嗜好性」「重厚感」「郷愁感」の4因子が抽出された。また, 日本, 西洋, 中国料理を合わせた基本的因子は「品質性」「嗜好性」「重厚感と温涼感」「郷愁感」「性別と甘味性」の5因子が抽出された。(2) 日本料理・西洋料理・中国料理および日本・西洋・中国料理の合わせたそれぞれの基本的因子に対して, 各日本・西洋・中国料理がどのような関係にあるかが明らかになり, 日本料理・西洋料理・中国料理の類別が可能である。

新たな症病発症仮説である「脳疲労(Brain fatigue)」とそれに対する治療仮説である「脳指向型自己調整システム=Brain Oriented Oneself Care System(BOOCS)」を用いてその減量効果を肥満者26名において検討した。また、治療当初に3日間の絶食期間を設け、「BOOCS」による「脳疲労」解消効果を高めることにした。治療1ヶ月後に、体重、体格指数(BMI), 体脂肪率は、それぞれ平均3.6kg, 1.3, 2.2%, 有意に(p<0.01)減少した。また中性脂肪も28.9mg/dl減少した(p<0.05)。その他の指標には、有意な変化は見られなかったが、悪化したものはなかった。また、被験者はいずれも疲労感が減少し、味覚が正常化するものが多かった。これらの結果は、短期絶食法を「BOOCS」に取り入れることにより「脳疲労」が容易に解消することを示唆する。

The purpose of this essay is to investigate the establishing process of the system of appointment in the Heian period. Firstly the present author investigated the indispensable documents for the appointment ceremony : Shichikan Monjo (七巻文書) [7 volumes documents] Kekkancho (欠官帳) [lists of unoccupied posts] and Omagaki (大間書) [a list of candidates]. And the following three points were made clear. 1.Shichikan monjo except Goiijo Rekimyocho (五位已上歴名帳) [a list of higher officials than 5th rank], Kekkancho and Omagaki seems to have been used since the 8th century. 2.Bunincho (補任帳) [lists of appointees which are included in Shichikan Monjo] and Kekkancho began to be presented not only to the Dajokan (太政官) but to the Kurododokoro (蔵人所) in the 9th century. 3.Goiijo Rekimyocho had been presented only to the Dairi (内裏) before about this time, but around this time it also began to be presented to the Dajokan. Secondly through investigating moshibumi (申文) and rocho (労帳) [applications for appointments] the following points are evident. 1.These applications can be categorized into Gekigata (外記方) and Kurodogata (蔵人方). A Gekigata application was presented to the Gekikyoku and a Kurodogata application was presented to the Kurododokoro. It seems that a Gekigata application owes its origin to the koka (考課) system under the Japanese Ritsuryo (律令) system, and a Kurodogata application owes its origin to the system based on the Imperial order. 2.Moshibumi came to be used frequently from the 810s. In those days it seems that the most of them were presented to Gekigata. But Kurodogata moshibumi gradually increased in number, and many Gekigata moshibumi came to be presented to the Kurododokoro. Late in the 9th century or early in the 10th century except only a little part of the applications applied for lower posts, most of them came to be presentd to the Kurododokoro. It can be safely said that the fundamental system of appointment ceremony in the Heian period was formed by the beginning of the 10th century. And the function of the Kurododokoro was increased through this process. The author can say that as to the appointment ceremony the authority of Emperor was relatively increased, and the authority of the Dajokan was decreased in the 9th century.

文部省が平成7年度第2次補正予算により構築を開始した大学間衛星ネットワーク(スペース・コラボレーション・システム:SCS)は, 全国の国立大学, 国立高等専門学校, 大学共同利用機関のうち36機関の延べ50箇所に設置したVSAT局(Very Small Aperture Terminal:超小型地球局)と本ネットワークの制御や監視を行うためにメディア教育開発センターに設置したHUB局(統括局:併せてVSAT局としての機能も有する)から構成される双方向性を有する全国規模の高等教育衛星ネットワークとして平成8年10月2日よりその運用を開始した. 本ネットワークでは, 任意のVSAT局が任意の局とグループを構成し, 1.5Mbit/sのディジタル回線を2回線用いたテレビ会議システムを構成することで, 授業・ゼミ・研究会・研修会など様々な教育・研究交流活動を共同・協調して行うことができる. 本論文では, SCSの方式選定の考え方とシステム構成について報告する.
